Avatar m tn Hello, There are many procedures of mole removal like by shave or deep elliptical excision, excision with cauterization (a tool is used to burn away the mole) and laser removal. Your dermatologist may choose excision with or without stitches, depending on the depth of the mole and the type of cosmetic outcome desired. Laser removal has less chances of leaving scars but it is also not without side effects. Discuss the details of these procedures with your dermatologist.
6346111 tn?1620504166 Hi, certain procedures are done for scar removal like dermabrasion, phototherapy including blue and red light, photodynamic therapy and laser treatment like laser resurfacing can be tried. I will advise you to seek help of a dermatologist who specializes in skin problems or a plastic surgeon, under whose guidance you could adopt the therapy that suits you the best. Regards.
Avatar n tn I suggest that you get advice from a physician (in person) rather than an esthetician. It's possible that you have ingrown hairs. If you do, laser hair removal might help. If you tweeze or pulls at your hairs, you need to stop. If it is acne, there are many medications, oral or topical, to consider. I don't think you ought to decide in advance what will or won't do the trick. Take care. Dr.
Avatar n tn Hello, There are various methods like shaving, bleaching, depilatory creams, electrolysis or laser hair removal are available to remove the hair.Out of all these laser hair removal is the most long lasting.Nd YAG laser is very effective in long term reduction of hair.Risks include the chance of burning the skin or discoloring dark skin with the laser, hypopigmentation (white spots), and flare of acne. Pls consult a dermatologist/cosmetologist and discuss this with him/her. Hope it helps.
Avatar f tn I have had acne issues for about 3 years now because i am allergic to something in the water where i am at school. I have purchased a water filter and the acne had gone away dramatically, but now i have severe blemishes on my face. At first i was using a product called Ambi and Crusaders soap and face cream that are skin bleaching creams. They both work well, but they lighten up my entire face rather than just evening my skin tone so now my face is visibly lighter than the rest of my body.
Avatar m tn does hydroquinone cream work on red acne scars or just dark spot?
Avatar f tn m currently undergoing laser hair removal on my face and have been told to avoid chemical peels, etc. until that procedure has been completed. In the mean time I guess I'll try and hang in there and look into proper cleaning and toning options.

Avatar f tn s pretty much the same as it used to be. The laser clinics always promote laser hair removal as permanent, but what you learn if you press someone on the matter is that it's not permanent removal, it's permanent ”reduction.” Meaning that even the clinics know that some or most hairs will grow back. And yes, I don't think it matters whether your skin is dark or light. If the lasers target melanin/pigment in the hair, then the same laser ends up targeting the melanin in the skin!
4330487 tn?1352904949 m not qualified to give you a range of credible alternatives. But what does come to mind is laser hair removal. Those with light skin and dark hair are the best candidates for laser hair removal. I have PCOS, too, but I am the opposite...almost hairless. But, in the ways many women would like permanent hair removal, I do too. But since I have very fair skin and blond hair, I'm not a candidate for laser hair removal. Although expensive, that would be a permanent solution.
101028 tn?1419603004 I did laser, and it worked well on my upper lip, but my chin hair has actually gotten worse.
Avatar n tn The excess hair on the face can be reduced by the laser hair removal...however, I do not think any insurance will cover the cost of it seeing they have it listed under "cosmetic". I've heard of hair removal creams I think it's called Vanic (sp?). That can be given by a dermotolgist. Metformin should help, it's one of the most common given medications for those who have PCOS. I take that along with Yasmin bc.
606433 tn?1220239937 Should I get permanent hair removal surgery? I heard that lasers work good for my problem. I have too much hair, and I need to get it removed.
Avatar n tn Please can someone make any recommendations to possibly a natural remed y for the and anxiety any suggestions for hair problems apart from laser/ipl/hair removal creams/waxing Thanks :oc
Avatar n tn It seemed to work, but that little bit of OCD in me caused me to never be satisfied, as every time the scab came off, there was a slight bump where the mole used to be. I thought that the acv was not penetrating deep enough into the mole, and that was why it still remained raised, as there was some mole left over. However I did some more research and learned about hypertrophic scars, and that they form usually in high tension areas.
Avatar m tn Drugs like androgen receptor blockers, androgen suppressing agents and 5 alpha reductase inhibitors are also used. Permanent means of hair removal by electrolysis and laser treatment are also useful. I would suggest you to consult a dermatologist and discuss all the pros and cons of these methods so that the best treatment for you can be decided.
Avatar n tn Take a look at my pictures to see how effective microdermabrasion and laser treatment can be at treating post-acne scars. You must wait 6 months after finishing Accutane treatment before having such procedures done because of the increased risk of scarring already fragilised skin. Oral retinoids can cause facial redness and it has only been 3 months since you finished Accutane. Use a good skincare regime for facial redness such as Clinique's Redness Solutions or Rosaliac by La Roche-Posay.
