Avatar_f_tn does it take 4 weeks to know weather injections work? 4 weeks fro the last one.
Avatar_f_tn There are many pet vitamin supplements available over the counter, at retail and through your vet that are safe and effective to relieve canine arthritis pain. Various combinations of Glucosamine, MSM, Omega-3's, Hyaluronic acid and Chondroitan sulfate are wonderful for your dogs condition.
Avatar_n_tn I tried laser and that doesn't work either. How does a laser make fibroblasts divide and secrete collagen/elastin (it damages your fibroblasts, making them older)? I am reading up on hyaluronic acid injections (restylene). Basically there is a company named Isolagen which will grow up your skin cells and inject them into wrinkles. Maybe one day they will do that for your stretch marks.
Avatar_f_tn Greetings, This post may be to late to be of benefit but for several years I have benefited from Hyaluronic acid (Synvisc, Hyalgan, Orthovisc) injections into the base of my thumbs (Basal thumb arthritis). Typically, I need injections every 6 to 8 months. Sometimes sooner and once in a while one or the other thumb will not require treatment for twelve months or longer.
Avatar_f_tn Hi, Thanks for writing in. EUFLEXXA is a high purity hyaluronan, also called hyaluronic acid (HA) or sodium hyaluronate. HA is the natural substance found in the fluid that surrounds a healthy knee joint and helps cushion, lubricate, and protect the knee as you move throughout the day. You should not receive treatment with EUFLEXXA if you have: A known allergy to hyaluronate preparations, or knee joint infections, infections or skin disease in the area of the injection site.
159619_tn?1318997813 Intra-articular injections of hyaluronic acid (Synvisc), known as visco-supplementation, are a recently available option. The exact mechanism of action of visco-supplementation is not clear. Although restoration of the elasto-viscous properties of synovial fluid seems to be the most logical explanation, but other mechanisms do exist. The actual period of benefit of the injected hyaluronic acid is on the order of months. If all conservative management fails, the option left is surgery.
159619_tn?1318997813 The patient should be referred to physical therapy. Intra-articular injection of corticosteroids, and hyaluronic acid, may have a small effect on knee pain. I think Synvisc treatments are fine. You need to monitor your improvement on Synvisc treatment. If you do not have any response then what is the second line of treatment. What is the line of management the doctor has planned? Keep me posted if you have any queries. Bye.
1391312_tn?1421090593 Hi Dragonhater, Do you have your gallbladder? Also, prevacid does not work on me at all. Like a sugar pill. Pill form of Pepto bismol works. Bill1954 suggested prilosec. I think I am going to try it.
Avatar_m_tn Dear doctor, Thank your for looking at my case. I have put the details of my various test results into a PDF file accessible here: http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/1162323_slixs/anamnesis_en_mar26.pdf Here is the brief summary: * Subjective complaints and clinical findings : - palmar erythema (noticed since 2007, diagnosed by hepatologist 01/08) - pain around ankles and on feet, feels like mild swelling.
Avatar_m_tn http://www.biofilediagnostics.com/hyaluronic-acid-test/read-more I also get this test - Hyaluronic Acid Test Again, not foolproof, just looking for consistency across different testing methods.
Avatar_f_tn Natural dog arthritis supplements offering your dog the correct amounts of Glucosamine, MSM, Chondroitan sulfate, Hyaluronic acid, Omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin C will help to relieve your dogs arthritis pain and nourish his joints. Should you want to follow up on this with me, that would be fine.

535822_tn?1443980380 Avene has a product with hyaluronic acid and retinaldehyde - and the line was developed for sensitive skin. You can find this at CVS stores or derms. Vitamin C - I make my own vitamin C serum. Ingredients are cheap and found at health food stores. It oxidizes quickly but I can easily make enough for one week at a time. 1/2 t. L ascorbic acid powder + 1/2 t glycerin + 3t water. Copper peptides are also said to be effective but they don't seem to work for me.

Avatar_n_tn I'm virtually certain I don't have the rheumatoid(arthritis) One could develop/get it anytime(as I recall), & even osteo from rheumatoid, I suppose. I was diagnosed with osteo in '03 & show no egregious new symptoms which would suggest rheumatoid. If the opposite(were true), I'm certain my physician would've had me do the tests you recommend(ed) I know there's "no cure" for osteoarthritis, but inhibit acquiescing since I (appear to) have it.
93210_tn?1287457826 In addition to bilateral surgeries on my knees, I have had synvisc in the left knee and multiple rounds of steroids in both. Does this hyaluronic acid go by a diferent name because I haven't heard of the stuff. Can you tell me what it does to the knee? Today I started a pain management program. I went kicking and screaming all the way but at the end of the first day, I think I'll like it. I'm going three days a week eight hours a day. Thanks so much again for your help.

Avatar_n_tn I'm on doxycycline for a month. Taking omega 3 fish and flax, hyaluronic acid. Eliminated fluorescent lights, use anti-glare screen at work. No relief. Will it ever go away? Once I'm thru menopause? I'm wondering if I should see an endocrinologist. I've seen that as a possible link as a cause-cortisol levels out of whack. I'd appreciate any information that would lead to the road of No More Dry Eye.
398302_tn?1202274727 first of all, congrats on a week clean, that is a great start, you should be proud. those feelings you are having are completely normal. that is how i felt my first few weeks of quitting. i was so full of anger and guilt, but the depression was the worst. i think it would be a good idea to check out some n/a meetings, they helped me get started in my recovery. try to stay busy, even if at times if you have to force yourself to get up and do something.
Avatar_n_tn immunologist, I got better, also, know that if you are told to use wetting agent, such as I bought, the Neilmed Sinus Gel, it has synthetic hyaluronic acid in it, I reacted to it violently with one dose, as well as Omnaris nasal spray with 2 doses in 24 hours, lungs dropped to 50%. he gave me the sample, in fact, every sample he gave me I reacted to eventually. Spiriva, Symbicort. Do not use Symbicort or any drugs with Formoterol in them. Dangerous. Look it up.

Avatar_f_tn From what I've researched, I think it all has something to do with inadequate production or excessive breakdown of collagen or hyaluronic acid (or both). My hair has always been really kinky, coarse and frizzy - I have been diagnosed with "pili torti/twisted hair" once. But nowadays it seems it has gotten much much worse. Wounds also don't heal as quickly as they used to and, when they do, they leave dark spots that don't fade overtime.
Avatar_f_tn Sunken scars are recessions into the skin due to the skin being attached to deeper structures (such as muscles) or to loss of underlying fat. For these type of scarring filling with injections of collagen or hyaluronic acid and laser resurfacing has given excellent results. My sincere advice is to discuss this in detail with your dermatologist before going in for ant treatment option. I sincerely hope it helps.

Avatar_n_tn I believe the chemo damaged the myelin which wraps the nerve fibers. I am megadosing myself on Hyaluronic acid, glucosamine, MSM, condroitin, l-carnosine and calcium d-glucarate. I am stretching every morning for about 10 minutes and it's just been in the past 2 months that I am starting to feel relief. By the way, I have been off the Tamoxifin for almost 2 years.
Avatar_n_tn Probably not complete but various combinations of platelet count (very low is suggestive), billirubin (high is suggestive), ALT/AST ratio, Prothombin time and some experimental markers like Hyaluronic acid (hyaluronate), YKL-40 (chondrex) and TIMP-1. Some current "bundled" blood tests that incorporate some of this are Fibrosure and Firbrospect(sp?) You can go here http://www.haltctrial.org/ and find one a very simple calculator.
