Does geodon help with anxiety

Common Questions and Answers about Does geodon help with anxiety

geodon

my doctor and i think i have adhd, anxiety, depression, and a little ocd. Does geodon help with adhd and anxiety in small doses?
i'm really hoping since geodon is an anti psychotic it will help my rapid thoughts and speech. has anyone had any luck with this medication? or is there anything else i should know about geodon?
I take 80mg Geodon. It does not cause anxiety for me and does not help my anxiety unless i'm in an up swing to mania. Then it calms that down. Give it some time. If you are that anxious and lost that much weight, I would call your pdoc and see if he can help you out. Sometimes medications can cause a side effect in one person and not someone else. I don't have any problems at all with the medication.
Does anyone know a way to decrease the anxiety when tapering off Geodon? I'm already taking Klonopin, and Benedryl doesn't help. I've been on 20mg with breakfast and 40mg with dinner for six months now. Doctor has no further suggestions. Please reply if you know how to control the rebound anxiety!
I can't find anything on the web that connects obsessiveness with Geodon. All of this is under my psychiatrist's guidance and he does not know why I'm experiencing this. Can you help?
But I was wanting to know does anyone here take geodon and what is thier opinion on it. I have read the side effects and they sound pretty scary. I was on remeron 60mg at night for sleep and my doc took me off the remeron and gave me the geodon and gradually I will be increasing 20mg every week until i get to 60 mg, then that will probably be my regular dose. But the 20mg capsule alone really knocks me out. Any inpute about my new dianosis and medicaion would be greatly appreciated.
I still take the Body Calm supplement from Road Back program. it helps as much or more with the anxiety and trmors the Geodon left with me.. Has anyone else had these withdrawl symptoms and gotten rid of them. I was on the drug for only 4 months but 6 months later the symptons it left haunt me daily. Is there hope? Where can I go to detox it..
I seem to feel dizzy, confused, sedated, have blurred vision, have anxiety attacks, just overall crummy. I think it's the Geodon that I went on a few months ago after Abilify didn't work so well. Is anyone having any issues with taking Geodon? Such as side effects or positive effects. Also, if you have tapered off, how long did the withdrawals (and what were they) from tapering?
I have been to many doctors over the years and they all say that these side effects had nothing to do with my medication. Well, I am no doctor, but it does not take a genius to figure out that when all of these side effects happen within weeks of starting this medication, that the medication is the cause. Over the years I have had a horrible time trying to lose weight. I am usually very skinny and I have tried EVERYTHING to lose weight and nothing has worked!
I've been taking Geodon for depression and anxiety at 160mg daily for almost 4 years now. Im' 42 years old and things in my life are going well and have a great support system now, which I didn't have a few years ago. I am married with two young children and have a nanny to help me with my kids and household. I want to be med free. I do not have any psychotic symptoms and not sure why doctor put me on this antipsychotic, but now I want to come off of it.
Many people here have experience with health anxiety. My first issue with panic/anxiety had come from concerns about heart health. In my opinion, we can become so sensitized to what we think is the problem that we notice every little symptom. For example, I noticed every palpatation, pain, twinge, tightness in the chest, etc and justified these feelings as something wrong with my heart even though doctors and tests said otherwise.
I finally found some stabilization on Celexa and Geodon. I had been able to control my weight with Wellbutrin and Geodon, but I was diagnosed with an eating disorder, which in my opinion was a misdiagnosis because how can you not be obsessed with the scale when your on medication that could possibly make you gain weight. Anyways, I was at my lightest when I was on Wellbutrin and Geodon, but had a lapse with insanity so my medicines changed. My weight ofcourse changed as well.
Thank you all for your responses and input. When I decided to seek help for severe anxiety, I was very scared and upset to address my issues. It is getting to be the same now for this...I am scared to address it. I definitely will bring this up to my doctor though because if I can be treated. Is bipolar disorder, or disorders on the spectrum treated with anti-depressants? Or is it a different kind of medicine. I am currently taking anti-depressants in order to help my anxiety.
Now I have no therapist, and she was referring me to group therapy (which I tried once, and I didn't like it) I prefer having a one on one session with somebody thats actually going to help me out with this obession or anxiety, or whatever it is. Its been going on since Sept. 10 I think, and since that days its been hell.
Please do not take this advice - the bit about water and sunlight are both good pieces of advices as sunlight does help and fresh air does not hurt anyone and good hydration is key with many drugs used for mental illness treatment - the rest is not based on anything scientific are best and dangerous at worst. A pdoc is the only person who can answer these qustions ultimately and thats who you need.
which made me a zombie, so after trying that i just said i dont want to take that anymore i was asleep 90 % of the time when i took it then he had nothing else to offer because seroquel is the most potent drug for anxiety that isn't addictive so then my gabepentin since that kinda helped went up to 1,600 next visit 3,200 he'd ask is your anxiety better , id tell him no it helps some but its not working like it should by the end of seeing him i was on 3,200 mg of gabepentin then 200 mg of se
Hello everyone! So I have been suffering with panic attacks/anxiety for about 2 years now. I just started taking medication to help me a year ago but have been jumped around on so many different ones I do not know what works anymore. I am also seeing finally a great therapist who is really helping me. But my mom thought it might help me if I joined a community on line to talk about my problems with. At first I felt a little weird about doing this. BUt I figured what do I have to lose.
I mean I also take geodon and amytriptalyn right now, but the geodon is to control my anger problems and the amitriptalyn is supposed to help with my pain threshold, which it hasnt yet, but it does help me sleep better at night. I really hope I did not scare you away from effexor, thats not what I was trying to do, I just wanted to let you know that the withdrawls of coming off of it are tough and not easy.
I hate having to depend on xanax to relieve the pressure. Does anyone know what is going on with my body and what Geodon and Depakote has done to my body? Has anyone one else experienced this or know someone that has? My doc seems to just think this is going to go away but after 6 months it hasn't got much better. I never had anything like this until taking those meds and as far as the anxiety I never had tightness or back pain.
so i have been diagnosed with severe anxiety and depression. i only get depressed when i am severly anxious. i constantly worry and dwell over one thought. i usually dwell until i get an answer! i have recently developed floaters, but have been told that is because of anxiety, they're annoying as heck! anyways i recently went into the hospital (state hospital) and lied about being suicidal because i thought i was losing my mind!!
There are beta blockers that are used for essential tremor and also are supposed to help with anxiety as an added bonus. Unfortunately they don't work for me but they have been very successful for most people. Next week, I'm trying clonazapam to address the anxiety and hopefully, the tremor will improve if for no other reason than I'm less anxious. Good luck and I hope I've been of some help.
I had so much more energy, I felt like I was coming out of a long period of being a zombie. Unfortunately I had to stop Geodon because it started causing anxiety. So went back to Seroquel XR last year and have gained 20 lbs and back as a zombie. Now I'm starting Latuda, which apparently does not make one gain weight. I don't know whether it will make me feel anxious like Geodon did. Any comments will be appreciated.
I wonder about the effects of Geodon in my system, which doesn't help the anxiety.. I walked for about an hour last night (my legs hurt today!) and it seems to relieve some of the anxiety related issues..... Unfortunately, as far as the doctor goes, you may have to call a couple times of day until you get a return call.. When I was experiencing my Gedon nightmare I called a total of 5 times over three days before he finally called me back..
She is this way because she is mentally handicapped and was raped, with no way to process the anxiety became too much for her brain to deal with after 2.5 years of panic attacks her mind finally just slipped into a delusional world. My best friend's husband also has PTSD psychosis and sounds just like your son. He manipulates the doctors into thinking he is just fine, but turns around and wakes up his wife and baby screaming at them thinking everyone is against him.
I agree with everyone else a mood stabalizer would be best to help you be less irritable. I am on Lamictal (Lamotrogine). I really don't think it is the medication that is causing the mood changes. It is probably just the bipolar.
Also colleges (I remember because I used their services) have specific help for people with disabilities including an office designated for this and they can provide any accommodations she would need. If she does decide to follow up with going to collage make sure to work with her to ask about that.
I just don’t want to get off of it because it takes too long to titrate up on it. Please help me with your feedback. Please don’t tell me to discuss this with my doctor. I already know that and already have discussed it with him (both of them) and have two different opinions. I want feedback from people that already have experience with these types of meds. Doctors don’t always know what we have to go home to and deal with outside of their office.
I am on Divalproex 250 and Olanzapine 5 mg. I purchased Oxetol 300 (Oxcarbazepine) today which is I guess another name for Trileptal. I am going to taper off Divalproex for the next few days and start with Oxetol 300, maybe half of the tablet once a day. My question is can I have that with the Olanzapine 5 mg?
I'm bipolar I and take Lamictal and Remeron and have had good results, although I also experience anxiety which is treated with valium. I don't know what your Lamictal dosage is, but I'm at 400mg a day, which is the maximum and a higher dosage may help you. If you want some more information(especially side effects) you can go to: http://www.drugs.com/mtm/abilify.html Hope this helps.
(Anyone have experience with this one) As needed he takes Ultram ER 50MG to help with headaches(usually does take atleast one daily)- Phenergan for nauseu - and while in the hosp was given Dilaudid on occasion still needs to take. Approx 10 yrs ago he went thru the interferon 3 times a week and only had a couple bad weeks in the beginning - was able to function close to 100% most all the time and NEVER had the need for rescue drugs that bring with them their own set of sides to deal with.
