detrol

Avatar f tn VESICARE,ENABLEX OR DETROL LA..........I m male and 29 yrs old ,can i also take detrol la.....Any response should be highly appreciated..........
Avatar f tn My symptoms did not improve and I began on Vesicare, which did not help, and now I am on Detrol LA. This does not seem to be helping either. I am continuing to urinate 20-30 times a day. Sitting also makes it worse. Please help. I cannot continue to live like this. This discussion is related to Urinary Urgency/Frequency/Incontinence.
Avatar f tn My neurologist recently put me on a Detrol LA for a week, then had me add Flomax. I noticed a slight improvement with the Detrol, but when I added the Flomax things urinary got dramatically better. But, shortly after starting the Flomax, I discovered that I did not produce any ejaculate! Not that sex is a big thing with me (staying upright while standing takes precidence), but it is still an important part of life (if only rarely).
Avatar n tn Hi, My doctor had tried me on Vesicare but the side effects out weight the benefits. I was given Buscopan and Detrol LA to cope with bladder problems. I had a lot of problems with pain spasms and urgency. The Buscopan and Detrol LA help but in a case where I have severe pain, I now use Morphine.
Avatar n tn I now use Detrol LA and Buscopan to combat these spasms. It does not get rid of them but it does dull the intensity.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure, but have you (or has he) checked with his cardiologist? If so, what does he/she say? Hope the move goes well and you enjoy your new home!
Avatar n tn Yes, both cystoscopes showed bladder lining clear and pink, no irritation, got the microlab back today and no cancer cells, so that was good, only thing abnormal was the WBC Esterase was abnormal and Urologist said back to stronger antibiotic, Doxcycycline, and Detrol La to relieve muscle spasm... does that sound like urologist is on the right track? Thank you for your reply.
Avatar n tn Things that they tried for me include medications like Flomax and Detrol LA. These meds give relieve on some areas but does not really deal with the prostatitis. One thing that gives me some relief at times is a hot bath. I'm sorry but I'm afraid that there is no real treatment option other than trial and error. I used to work as a heavy duty mechanic and I had many sleepless nights causing me to mis work due to the discomfort as well as being tired.
Avatar m tn I have been told by my doctor that I have a chronic case of IC....(about three years ago) I was ok for awhile and, now the severe pain has returned....which meant I had to return to my urologist....He gave me elmiron and vesicare to treat the IC....the Elmiron never helped my pain and, the Vesicare took my blood pressure from 113/72 pulse 68 to 153/103 pulse 122...I contacted my urologist and, he stated...that's not true ... neither of these meds would cause your blood pressure to go up...
Avatar m tn To minimize bladder spasms that I experience, they prescribed Detrol LA for me. It used to work well, but currently having an indwelling catheter, it does not work as well as it used to. One of the latest thing that I have heard about is Botox. I have no further information on this, but perhaps you should aproach your urologist about this. For myself I also seem to have a small bladder that adds to the problem.
Avatar n tn I worked for a urologist and we used a TENS unit type treatment called Uroplasty, that stimulates the tibial nerve with aids with bladder control. Detrol LA is also the highest recommended urinary incontinence treatment by physicians. Hope this helps a little.
Avatar m tn Went to see another urologist who gave me Detrol LA and it worked! Now I go about one-half as many times as before. You need to find a doctor who can see if you have this very, very common condition. Good Luck to you.
Avatar f tn My PCP put me on Detrol LA years ago, it was the only MS symptom I had at the time, not that we knew it was related to MS at the time. Hind sight, anyway the Detrol LA has really settled down the sudden and frequent urges. I still drink a lot of water, but now its more "normal" and go any where from 20 minutes to an hour. I start slowing down on the amount of water in the late afternoon/evening, but still get up usually once a night, but life is much better.
Avatar f tn Just like after a trip from the dentist, the feeling you have when the numbness begins to fade and the pain takes affect. I just started taking Detrol LA again last Friday and could not find any related side effect except for joint pain. I have been searching online everywhere for answers. I will not be able to see a doctor for another four days (if I can be seen on Black Friday). Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing all of this trouble? Should I be worried? Thank you very much.
1140169 tn?1370185076 Another piece of the puzzle seems to have dropped into place on my quest for dx... I have O bands present in my spinal fluid. I don't see my neuro till May, but maybe this will be the thing that secures a dx. Of the diseases out there that O bands would be in the CSF, I believe I've been tested for most if not all of them. If I had my choice, MS would be better than any of the others (I think). My GP said I'm very close to a diagnosis (he's said MS all along).
Avatar f tn They will put you on the new medicines for overactive bladder like Detrol LA or Vesicare. As for the being thristy--sometimes this is a side effect of medicines but you really need to be checked by a doctor right away. Hope this helped and everything is fine.
Avatar n tn , but i have had Detrol-LA, vesicare and Oxytrol patch, biofeedback therapy, then an InterStim Therapy triiial, now i self cath 4-6 x day. Cyndi an dHEather are right, you can self cath and keep UTI at bay ,with good hygene, drinking enough water ( i know a catch 22!) and with supliments. My uro has giving me multiple refills for antibiotic to refil so i can jump on infection with i get one. DO those medicines you mention ease retention?
Avatar n tn He said I should wait a while and it might go away on its own, but this morning I called him and got a prescription for Detrol LA. I took a pill around 2 hours ago. However, I seriously doubt that what I have is overactive bladder, since the symptoms seem different from mine (particularly that what I feel is not the need to empty the bladder, and that it is a continuous urge rather than one that reappears every 15 min).
Avatar m tn I was put on Cipro XL for 6 days and the infection cleared but not the fequency and urgency to urinate. My doctor gave me Detrol LA a week ago and the symptoms have subsided greatly. On Sunday, my husband and I had intercourse. I lubed up well and all was good. Again on Tuesday night, we had intercourse - no pain. Wednesday morning, after I urinated, I noticed blood on the toilet paper. After 3 wipes, no more blood. There was not much blood. I went to the ER - urine is fine.
Avatar n tn He took another specimen and everything was clear. He gave me a weeks supply of Detrol LA.(not sure why because its not like I am having to go all the time I just feel like I do) I am still taking it on my third day. I am still not feeling normal. My belly feels bloated or full. I was just curious as to what could be making me feel this way and what should I do next. Is it my bladder or something else? Or can I still have an infection or could the infections have damaged my bladder?
Avatar m tn Hi everybody ok heres my problem that maybe somebody knows what is wrong with me starting about a month ago i have been feeling pressure too pee and when i go little to nothing comes out and i have to go like every five min and that goes on for like a week or two and then it stops and im fine then after a week or two it comes back and it happens again the er sent a urine culture out and it came back fine and also the urology doctor did a urine test and it was fine he did a ultrasound of my bladd
Avatar f tn I was a Urology Sales Rep for 9 years, so you would think I would know better. I see so many doctors and my co-pay is $35.00 per visit that I just can't afford any more doctors or medication bills. So, I take alot of Bactrim, Detrol LA and alot of AZO Standard.
Avatar f tn The first urinologist recommended different medications, but nothiing helped. The second urriologist recommended Detrol LA which did not stop the frequent urinatation, and there was at least one or two times during the day where I felt extreme pressure duriing the need to urinate, but couldn't go for at least 1 to 1-1/2 hour later. He said it was possible I had a "sensitive bladder".
Avatar n tn I have been on this for 6 months without significant change. For two months Detrol LA was added without any change in my symptoms either. Now I have been given Enablex 7.5 mg and after a week I am still waking up every 2 hours with the sensation of pressure in my bladder. I am very frustrated and would appreciate any suggestions.
Avatar f tn On of the meds that I have found to work OK for me is Buscopan. It helps in case of bladder spasms and cramping. Detrol LA also made a difference. Due to neurological problems and pain, I also use Morphine tablets. I used to resort to Percacet, but it did not target the same sort of pain that Morphine seems to do for me. Talk to your doctor about some of these things. I hope that you will be able to find a solution for this.
Avatar f tn Hi sandie, my bladder problem was frequency and urgency. I used to get up 5 to 8 times at night, and now I only have to get up once or twice per night because of my prescription of Detrol LA. (i'm not sure if this is like Vesicare or not) I don't recal ever getting the pains, tingling, etc you're asking about. Maybe it's because i'm a male...or i just don't remember.
Avatar f tn Pyridium works a little. I have Detrol LA I was taking before the surgery maybe I should start taking that one again. I just am tired of the toliet being my best friend. And yes the doctor should have advised me about the affects of the Percocet. I have never used narcotics for any lenght of time. It was a lesson learned. Thank you again.
