The first Dr. prescribed cefprozil. It didn't do anything. The second Dr. gave me an antifungal with anti-iflammatory cream. It helps slightly but everything is still extremely swollen. I am worried it might be something more serious? I have no discharge.
Dear experts I have been diagnosed with syphilis primary and i am in remote location where the availability is only of Penicillin G Potassium 800000u tablets and have been asked to have them twice daily on empty stomach for 10 days. I just wanted to check if they really work as I read online generally Benzathine Penicillin is preferred medication. I dont trust the medicine department here as they are mostly ngo diven. I would take the penicillin hold off on the other to see if the penicillin can handle it.
Saying that...did your dentist prescribe both because you have a bad infection?
I am leery of anything that could add to my liver damage and normally try to get an antibiotic in the penicillin family.
There are times that the risk outweighs the benefit.

I went to her clinic she made tests and confirmed that I still have it. Then I was in a clinic for 7 days, treated with ceftriaxone, one injection per day. After that I still had some sort of urticarias which show up and disappear. Several months after that I saw another doctor in different city, where I study... and I had another syphilis tests. She said that the treatment I had before was effective, but I need more injections. Again I was hospitalized for 7 days, treated with medaxone.
I have been prescribed cefprozil and what is around my mouth does sound like it would be impetigo. How would I have developed this?
As for the rest of my face, the swelling, rashing, itching, and burning... on eyelids cheeks and chin, would that be an effect of having impetigo as well?

I have read many of the posts concerning oral sex and realize that it is a low risk sex option. I have been on Penicillin VK for a few days due to some upcoming dental work. I know that gonhorrea and ngu are the only real (albeit very small) risks, and typically your advice to people is that if they haven't had any symptoms of discharge etc. that you do not recommend testing. Does my Penicillin VK change that advice? I have a "normal" sex partner that I want to keep safe.

Was more like a genital-genital contact without intercourse, he treated me with benzathine penicillin. Whatever it was, it is already healing and new skin is being generated and looks way more normal, the sore on the inner skin of my uncircumcised penis is nearly gone, and the broken skin is looking better and better, thank god.
I posted this originally in the HIV forum and was told it was No risk for HIV so I would like to see if the STD risk is likely.
I recently performed cunnilingus on a female whose health is unknown to me. A few days later I began to feel ill with sore throat, head ache, stomach ache. Is it possible that I was infected with an STD? If so, is there one that would be more common via oral sex? From what I have read it seems that gonorrhea (of the throat) is a possibility? what do you think?
