Does ambien cr have a generic

Common Questions and Answers about Does ambien cr have a generic

ambien

Avatar n tn Ambien (zolpiedem) helped me. It works quickly, doesn't give a morning hangover and is pretty cheap as it's available as a generic. I haven't tried the Ambien CR (time released, non-generic). Only thing about ambien is that, for me, I wake up after about 6 hours. But those 6 hours are pretty solid sleep.
Avatar f tn On the insurance question, was this a new prescription, or have you been on Ambien for some time?
739988 tn?1386672969 I feel for you, my doctor give me Zolpidem 10mg which is the generic for Ambien. There is also an Ambien CR. If you get it read the warnings carefully as its a very contravercial medicine. No not take at all if you are prone to sleepwalking! Safety first. I hope you get some much needed sleep. Sweet dreams.
Avatar n tn I have been taking 5mg of generic ambien for about 5 yrs. I take a pill every night. If not I am worthless during the day from lack of sleep. I know that this is discouraged but since I have to work, I have no choice.
Avatar n tn Ambien CR does come in 12.5 mg -- I have some. the regular ambien does not, but ambien CR does. just clarification.
Avatar f tn If you use it to help with withdrawals such as insomnia, that's what it sounds like you asking, you're only substituting another drug in place of the other(s) . Then again, it's probably worked as a 'bridge' for some people to make the withdrawal easier. But as mentioned above, it is addicting and often just prolongs the process more.
763205 tn?1234422576 I have been taking Ambien/Ambien CR for several years now. I switched from the regular Ambien when the Ambien CR became available. Two nights ago I took my nightly migraine medications and my Ambien CR. I remember being awake for about 45 mins after that and then I remember nothing. Some how I was unconscience when I took 8 more Ambien CR 12.5 mg. I remember nothing after that. I went on a wild rampage in my room and destroyed everything in sight and I do mean everything.
Avatar n tn Memory issues are pretty commonly reported as a result of taking Ambien, especially if a person has been taking it a while. A lot of people do report improvement with time. The best thing you can do, besides give yourself time (which it seems you're already seeing improvements which is great) is give the brain a work-out. There are all kinds of cognitive exercise programs online, and even cognitive therapy you could go to, prescribed by your doctor.
Avatar f tn i have been using ambien for many years now. i used the ambien and it's generic form zolpidem. it has always work up until two months ago when apparently the pharmacy changed suppliers. i took the little round purle pill up until then and now i take a white oval one. This one does not seem to be working as well and the side effect just seem wierd Does anyone think that the new manufacturer product is inferior and has anyone experienced this?
Avatar f tn I hope you do find that the Opana works well for you - I think it's horrible how much medications cost, even with insurance! I have Medicare Part D for my prescription coverage, so my co-pay on what they do cover is very minimal, but when I look at the actual prices (on the slip that comes with my scripts they list the price charged to Medicare and then the price that I pay), it totally shocks me!
Avatar f tn t said if he is taking Ambien or Ambien CR. The Ambien CR helped me MUCH more than the regular Ambien. Of course I never slept the whole night through but a few hours then I'd wake up about 2 but I was able to go back to sleep usually even if it was several times a night. Good luck, I've never been much of a good sleeper but if it gets that bad I would seek out a sleep clinic doctor place - he could have sleep apnea or something that is compounding the situation.
Avatar f tn This is just a thought but i have known, both with myself and other people, that when we have taken a drug and then we have changed the company that makes the drug, even though it is in theory the same drug taken it can cause new side effects. So, this drug that you had this side effect too may of been from a different company than the one you were use to.
Avatar f tn I started taking Ambien & Prozac in Oct 2009. I started building a resistance so my doctor prescribed for me Restoril, that didn't work so she started me on Lunesta. After I started building a resistance to the Lunesta my doctor prescribed for me Ambien CR 12.5mg. It's now March 2010 and I need 4 or more Ambien CR to sleep. I can't sleep without it!!! I haven't taken the CR 12.5mg in 24hr and I have the common addiction symptoms.
Avatar f tn insomnia is a very common problem. Ambien helps a lot but even with Ambien I began to have the same problem. My doctor put me on Xanax .5mg before bed and Ambien. I sleep all night. My wife has occasionally moved to another room because I began to snore pretty bad. It also helped with my irritability problems.
1102799 tn?1269237714 Ambien generally gave me a buzz when I took it at night, I would feel euphoric (but no sleepwalking) - I do not have this side effect with Ambien CR. I guess one needs to be careful with all of these sleeping pills!
783281 tn?1259691431 I have been feeling **** no energy, and really hung-over each morning. I have prior script for Ambien CR(12y. mg). Any idea which one would be best for me to use without triggering anything and to feel better in the mornings?
Avatar m tn Ambien Cr. I've been off Methadone for two months now and still can't sleep. Actually I now fall asleep about 6am and wake up about 2pm. Totally screwed up. I plan on getting back on it. Its the best night sleep ever and it will knock you out for the night time withdrawals. It gets better, hang in there.
Avatar n tn Ambien will help you get some sleep so yes I would say it is good. I worked for a Dr. before and the highest dose I saw given was a total of 12mg. So if the tab was 6mg then the patient could take 2. Taking 2 10mg of ambien seems a little high to me.Maybe someone else could answer better than me. I am one of those people that ambien doesn't work. I have tried Ambien cr, Lunesta (sp?) and regular Ambien and still couldn't get any sleep.
1796524 tn?1315586487 Watch out for "CR", "XR" and "SR" versions of meds. As far as I know, only Wellbutrin "CR" and Effexor "XR" are superior than the originals. I was taking 6mg's of Klonopin/day for many years before swiching to Xanax, also 6mg's/day. I suffer severe anxiety, and although the K-pins were O.K., they took too long to work and didn't stop panic attacks.
763205 tn?1234422576 Twice this week I have overdosed on Ambien CR and almost died both times. I do not remember taking the pills either time. What would cause this to happen?
Avatar m tn i have been on clonazepam for many months and ambien cr i am having problems with thinking straight, and i believe it is the clonazepam not the ambien cr.
Avatar n tn does anyone think that ambien cr will help with sleep while going through withdrawls???
Avatar m tn I started taking Alprazolem for anxiety 15 years ago. Since then I only take .5mg at night to help me relax and fall asleep. I now find the the 1 pill at night is not helping me sleep. So I started taking Ambien CR and stopped taking the Alprazolem. I'm sleeping great, but feel terrible in the morning. I feel nausea and tingling numbnest in my arm and face. Do you think its from the Ambien or from me stopping the alprazolem. Any advice?
Avatar m tn such as Ambien, Ambien CR, Lunesta, Temazapan and these are only a temporary aid that eventually no longer work. Initially stress was a main factor to my sleep disorder, however these days I don't feel it is. Over the past year I have noticed that I have become very forgetful, and have alot of difficulty comprehending. I have a professional career for many years and that I have done well with and am finding it very difficult to perform as of late.
