Does allegra d make you sleepy

Common Questions and Answers about Does allegra d make you sleepy

allegra

Noooo sleep! Makes me sleepy but I can't fall or stay asleep. Back to the Ambien, 4-5 hrs of good quality sleep is going to be heaven at this point!
If I take the zyrtec every day, I do not itch and there are not red spots or hives. Zyrtec does make you quiet a bit tired, but you can take it before you go to bed.
You are supposed to stay away with any type of "D" medicine, but there are still prescription meds that you can have. I was told that you CANNOT have Allegra, Allegra D, or Claritin D ("D" class meds), but you can have Zyrtec. I have been taking Zyrtec daily (I am 24 weeks pregnant). Good luck ... the allergy season is bad enough without being limited to the remedies you can seek!
For antihistiamines, diphenhidramine is great, but tends to make people very sleepy (it's a common ingredient in sleep aids). Loratine is a good 24 hr, non-drowsy antihistiamine. For decongestants, I haven't had a problem with phenylephrine, except that it never last long. Last time I was at a doctor, he recommended the nasal spray decongestants with oxymetazoline as the active ingredient, as an alternative to psuedoephedrine. Works wonders!
Hi and welcome to Part 50! Wow part 50. Please make yourself at home. Snuggle down. It'll be a bumpy ride but I know you Tramadol Warrirors can do it!
Everyone knows that allergies cause sneezing, itchy, watery eyes, and nasal congestion and that for some people these symptoms can be more severe than for others. For these people allergies can feel like a curse, making them feel sleepy, irritable and downright miserable. There are many medical explanations for allergies, including the theory that the body is overreacting to the typical allergens.
Your immune system is a complex array of cells that work as a team to protect your body. knowing your levels of C-reactive protein (CRP) can give you a fair warning as to what kind of trouble you have. An excellent blood test called the highly sensitive C-Reactive protein test (hcCRP). Ideally, your level should be less than 1.0. Levels between 1.0 and 3.0 are termed borderline above this range can mean trouble and should be rechecked every few months.
even too much benadryl will make me sleepy...so it is a **** shoot at best. I take Allegra for allergies..but it really doesn't work all that well without the decongestant...but the decongestant keeps me awake at night..go figure...all this has only gotten worse and worse in the last couple of years with the thyroid problems...
I usually have it with in 30 mins of waking up and it lasts the whole day. Kinda how you feel when you're sleepy, but want to stay up cuz your favorite TV show is coming on. Sometimes its minor, but sometimes its more severe and I find it hard to concentrate. I have been to a regular doctor who said it was an inner ear infection. After weeks of meds he referred me to an ENT who said it was not an inner ear infection (or that the meds I was on cleared it up).
Found myself allergic to animals - very young pups and cats in general - they're too excitable - emit too many hormones or fermones (I think that's the spelling), etc. Getting them neutered could be as much as a 98% fix - really! ..... unless your problem is dander. Stay away from guinea pigs - gerbils - mice - all those "cute little things". If you have them, make sure someone else does the cleaning..
( Deeds has suggested a company called Genova Labs that does all that type of testing. I recently went to there website. They are now known as Genova Diagnostics. Here is there website. They do all sorts of testing. https://www.gdx.net/home/gsdl/ Hope this is some help. Please let me know how the quercetin and s/nettles works out for you. Best of luck.
I have tried all the other meds without luck. You can search the internet and it will bring you to sites on gastroparesis. If you want to chat more, you can e-mail me at ***@****.
same things happen to me... has anyone been prescribed Hydroxyzine? if so, does it work for you? i'm not sure that it does anything for me but knock me out. also, reactine doesn't seem to work...
Knowing that others are out there looking for answers and have the same problems does make you feel better though. I have been ill now for roughly 3 years, what has brought this on I have no idea. When you are sick for so long and you include constant fatigue, headaches, and anxiety, it is very easy to slip in depression, especially when you look for answers from medical professionals and they cant provide them, I am talking about are own local Dr’s rather than the ones here.
I saw a dermatological surgeon yesterday and she is going to start me on a drug called cytoxan (a chemotherapy drug) and plaquenil ( an old drug used to treat malaria) pretty aggressive but I have exhausted all of my avenues, and being a nurse myself I know what to watch for, Do you have any suggestions or anything that works for you? Do you get hives all over your body and do you get them everyday?
It began in 1976 and re occurs every 5 to 6 years. I get a sore throat (not tonsils but when you swallow) I now go straight on antibiotics and use Bricanyl inhaler although it doesnt seem to have much effect except to cause alot of mucus coughed up from the lungs. It causes me to have spasm coughing and if I cannot control this to 3 or 4 coughs my windpipe closes over making it hard to breath in or out.
Take Claritin so it won't make you sleepy...don't take Ibuprofin because it might be a cause of hives or at least might make them worse. But other than that, I felt she just told me "alright, well...that's all I have for you. Good luck" So here I am again...home, not with friends, because I have hives everywhere and feel like a monster. ugh!! So I do wish you all the best, know that you're not alone! Let's pray that some wonderful doctor finds a cure for this!
It's an anti-histamine that doesn't make you as drowsy as benedryl does. The two forms that Zyrtec comes in has 10mg of anti-histamine, and that's the highest mg it has. You're only supposed to take one, but when I get itch fits I have to take two or three to get it to stop. Zyrtec without insurance costs $75.00, and I have to take two or three everytime I have a fit. It only comes in thirty day supply, so you can imagine how fast I can go through that stuff.
Also the floors of the showers in swimming pools are usually washed with a mix of pure chlorine liquid and water - if floors not rinsed well the chlorine lingers in the atmosphere until completely vaporized. Does this feel strange when you also take a shower at home? If not it could also be a nervous issue in the sense that when you swim you are irritating some nerves - test and see if swimming a different stroke would aggravate the feeling. One stroke a day. Good luck.
I hear your pain. I found out that I was allergic to Penicillian and had chronic hives for 2 years. Every inch on my body was covered. The worst was having them in my throat. I got some relief with Cortisone injections. I was taking 75mg of Cortisone by tablet, every day and we know what that does to your body. I went to dermatologists, skin specialists with no answer. I became pregnant with my third child and the hives disappeared. This indicated to me a hormone inbalance.
Debbie: thank you so much for all of your very helpful info!! I am now strongly considering going back and asking the Dr. to perscribe Elavil for me. If it works, than it must be shingles, right? (because I to have been convinced that it's somethaing gastrointestinal but they find nothing.) Would you mind answering a few more questions about the Elavil? -- Do you take the it as needed or on a regular daily basis? -- Again: how long before you experienced some releif from taking the Elavil?
Red patches appear as I am lifting. I am taking 10mg Zyrtec everyday. Does seem to make any difference. I also use anti itch cream / lotion from Eucerine. Very frustrating! Before this happened a couple of months ago, I had zero allergies to anything and I am 40 years old.
It is an herbal remedy so please talk to your physician before you use it and if you order it, take a small piece to make sure you aren't allergic to it (just in case). Both of these products got rid of all of my sinus infections before the surgery. Good Luck !
A panic attack can last for minutes or hours. You have to kind of talk to yourself, relax yourself, make yourself not be paranoid. You're not going to die! I take Xanax every day of my life! Could not drive anywhere by myself, would have to pull off the road and wait, then try again, having to leave my buggy at the store and get out of there. My heart would race, left arm went numb, hands tingle, short of breath. Face would heat up like you painted circles on my cheeks.
It's just everywhere here and there and it really does drive you nuts... I don't have any idea why... I came here to see what was wrong with everyone else. Ok so you have absolutely no answers. Guess I'll go to the doctor... LOL I will say, it started out with my hands and feet. When I wake up it is a horrible warm "desperate" itch that has to be dealt with NOW! feeling... Understand what I mean by that? Even my lips.. mine has been going on for 2 weeks.
But once or twice a month, I sneeze uncontrollably, hundreds of times, all day long, and nothing, not Allegra-D, not Claritin, not Benadryl, will stop it. And the weird thing is, this sneezing is NOT accompanied by the usual itching. When I have a "sneezing day," I am nonfunctional. All events are canceled. It is absolutely exhausting. I sometimes wonder if it has anything to do with weather or barometric changes; it seems like it rains or there's a temp.
Even without heartburn, acid reflux can cause shortness of breath, wheezing, and a feeling of not enough air in the lungs, which can make you feel like you need to yawn in order to get a good breath of air. I know sometimes the breathing difficulties come and go, so I am still a little bit weary that it may return even being on Nexium. But for now, I can breathe and I'm SO happy!!! Check into this!!!!
If you don't keep at it, it will still be there, even if you did the diet/anti-fungals for a while. You need to make sure you fully got rid of it because it could be the source of the dysbiosis creating this allergic gas. It might also be that since we have candida, there aren't that many good bacteria, and it might be that all we need is good bacteria to combat these gases that are being produced.
Unfortunately, we need to be our own advocates with physicians. Make them run every test imaginable if that is what makes you feel reassured you are not sick. If you do in fact have anxiety, don't be affraid to get the help you need for it, whether it be medication or other forms of treatment.
