-A topical gel such as Duac (clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide) or Differin (adapalene). -A course of oral antibiotics such as Oxytetracycline 250mg twice daily. -An anti-androgen contraceptive pill such as Yasmin or Diane35 -An anti-androgen medicine called Spironolactone -Another course of Roaccutane. Acneic skin does not usually benefit from moisturizer. Use a bland cleanser which will not irriate such as La Roche-Posay or Vichy.
In other words, is it better to apply benzaclin to existing pimples and then differin to spots on your skin which are currently acne free ? What does each work to prevent etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Alternatively, topical antibiotics (clindamycin, erythromycin) or topical retinoids (tretinoin, adapalene) may work. Female acne patients can take an anti-androgen medicine called Spironolactone and/or an anti-androgen contraceptive pill such as Diane35 or Yasmin/Yaz. Severe acne which does not respond to conventional treatments may warrant Oral Isotretinoin.

Oral antibiotics such as Tetracyclines usually clear acne within about 12 weeks although this does vary between patients. If you have seen no improvement after this time your doctor may add a topical retinoid such as Differin (adapalene 0.1%) to your regime. If you are female you may also warrant treatment with a special birth control pill called Diane35 (Dianette in the UK) which blocks the actions of androgens- the hormones responsible for acne.
hi i am 13 years old, and i have acne on my chin and nose area, ive tried, -clearisil -apricot scrubs -clean and clear -oxy clean -lemon and cinnamon -honey -drinking lots of water and much more, but it still wont go away i need help! does anyone know wat is going to work for me?! thanks, also my skin is oily.
Hi. Check the expiry date on the tube of Erythromycin cream and do not use it if it has been opened months ago. Using BP and Erythromycin concurrently may increase side effects such as burning, peeling and redness. It all depends how sensitive your skin is. When using 2 topical products use one in the morning and one before bed, don't apply them together. Use a bland soap-free cleanser to reduce irritation, I recommend Physiological cleansing gel by La Roche-Posay.
My 7 year old started getting white pimples on her forehead and it looks like acne. Does anyone have a child in a similar situation and what treatment have they used that proved to work? I have an appointment to the dermatologist but I would also like to get feedback from other parents and doctors. Thank you! M.
I'm 18 years old and my face is kinda broke out bad and nothin that I use works and if it does its only for like the first 2/3 days then its done workin, why is that? I hate goin places and havin my face broke out it is not a good feelin to have at all. I wear makeup all the time to try and hide it but it doesn't always work.
Therefore, I thought of maybe covering it up with fake tan would work (I heard it does), however the dots just got darker and more visible (why is this?). I'm aware there's no cure, but there must be something that might help? I'm considering using 20% Salicylic Acid peel to aid the skin in shedding. I believe that the red dots are caused by hair clogged underneath, so surely this will help free them? Correct me if I'm wrong cause all this sounds too easy. Thanks.
My question is what can I do to permanently erase this acne factor off of my stress list and work towards a more clean blemishless, scarless, zitless facial surface. I am eager to hear from you Doctor, and your response.

(2) Is a second course of accutane likely to do any good? I am amazed how quickly the acne returned. It didn't even work throughout the entire course. I don't obsess about acne but it does put a damper on my personal and professional life. I usually cope with it well, but occasionally it really gets me down. I never pick at my face and always follow the doctor's directions. I appreciate your response.
My 9 and a half year old daughter just started having acne only on one side of her face. Is it common for this age group? Does it have any relation to the food that she eats or is she going through her prepuberty period? What kind of face wash should she use and what precautions should be taken to prevent it from coming anymore?
i have been to the doctors to get creams and that it don't work i have tired out so many things. I don't know what to use HELP?? any suggestions whats the best products that dont cause rashes. I also have blackheads, discloration, uneven skin tone and scarring!!
The good news is that if he does work with his dermatologist, he is sure to do well, even if it means changing things, and waiting the number of months--not years--it will take to get the job done. In general, pimples and pustules do not leave permanent scars, just red marks that fade in time if left alone. Take care and hang in there. Dr.
i have tried everything. Every acne free cream, home remedies but nothing seems to work how do i get rid of acne quickly?
Retin-a is too harsh for your fair skin, so ask your doctor about Differin (adapalene) which is generally well tolerated. Irritation from a topical retinoid can be reduced by using the cleansers mentioned above. Start by applying every other night and gradually increase to nightly use. Best Wishes, Eloise. PS: My son draw pictures of me with "baddies" on my face too.
The acne eventually went away, but now it has somehow resurfaced. I work out a lot and therefore drink a lot of milk, take protein supplements as well as a supplement called nitric oxide to help with muscle development. It is worth noting that before my breakout, I still drank milk and took nitric oxide so I am not sure if these are the direct causes. I used to regularly take vitamins and just noticed I stopped for a few months.
So I took 1 cycle of M-Drol, unaware until after I finished that it was a steroid. I took it around mid-March and finished in mid-April, then got onto a "post cycle treatment" known as Arimidex. After 1 week of Arimidex, my back, shoulders, arms, neck, chest, and even stomach became covered in acne, and by week 2 I was forced to get off it because my acne grew so severe.

my social life is obsolete, i refuse to leave my house, i refuse to work at times, ive gained over 30 lbs due to lack of esteem, i refuse to let my husband look at me, and therefore has led to martial problems because it has made me a very resentful person. I want to never have to wear makeup again, but i cant leave the house without a mound of makeup on not only to cover the acne but to cover up the extreme purple and red scarring its left behind.
