1316778 tn?1286994036 A year later now, and I would like to say nothing in Houston worked out. The doctors would take an interest on the first visit, and then when the labs would come back normal, they'd just "drop" me by saying "oh well". I kind of thought being in Houston that they would delve into the issue a little more, but NO! The cardio that made the statement, "give me time and we'll get it sorted out"--he quit after the next visit!
Avatar m tn in 1971 doctors wanted to fuse my knee due to multiple ligament tears and fractured- displacedknee cap. A young Doc who sat in on Mickey Mantels knee surgery in Houston talked the Head of Ortho into letting him discuss with us the option of trying to repair everything ( No ACL replacement at that time ) and see what happens.
Avatar f tn I, too, will be looking for a specialist in the Houston area. There was one in Beaumont (not sure HOW specialized he was, just that he was the one all the other neurosurgeons' offices said was the most familiar with C.M.), but he died last month. I'm hoping to be able to get into UTMB sometime SOON, but they are still not taking patients for now.
Avatar f tn I get a sharp pain on the inner part of the knee. It'll last for a couple seconds to minutes. Horrible sharp pain. I've had it since I was around eight years old. I'm eighteen now and it still comes and goes. Someone please help.
Avatar f tn HOUSTON — A Houston police officer shot and killed a one-armed, one-legged man in a wheelchair Saturday inside a group home after police say the double amputee threatened the officer and aggressively waved a metal object that turned out to be a pen. Only on NBCNews.
Avatar n tn The episodes do not occur with drinking from what I can tell. The pain is not localized in one specific area of my knee either it is my entire knee. I experience extreme swelling with very little motion allowed if any at all. I hope that helps.
Avatar m tn I started the pills because of knee pain. I had three knee replacement surgeries, 2 PKRs and one redo a TKR. My knees are the best they are going to get, can manage without pain killers. But I was still on the pills because of my shoulder. After my third knee surgery, I came off of methadone but stayed on the Norco. I've been clean from Norco since Jan. My shoulder is getting worse every day. I've been in tears for three days.
Avatar f tn I left the hospital with only a 65 flex and in alot of pain. For awhile in physcial therapy I could get more flex but not without extreme pain. Today I suffer from severe chronic pain and still can only flex 65. I do not know what went wrong but right after surgery a large flex machine was dropped right on the knee while I lay in a hospital bed unable to move. Even though caused extrem pain and I lat out a horrible scream noone thaught it could of done damage.
Avatar m tn Thank you Doctors for your valuable inputs. My pain in the knee is manageable and just inconvenience while walking . I am still in my late 30's and no other complaints so far. I am keen to follow non surgical ways but Doctor here told me that if I delay in surgery, there is a huge risk of ortheritis. its concerning me a lot as I had never been to any surgery so far in my life.
Avatar f tn I jus noticed it getting painful over the course of a few days. I stopped exercise all together. I have some knee pain in a few different places around the kneecap and ITB and and uncomfortable "catching" sensation with every bend. I've went to 2 different doctors and had MRI and xray. MRI showed no damage but "just a little ganglion cyst in the joint 4mm". The first doctor just said it's just jumper's knee and rest with no brace needed.
Avatar f tn knee pain. I have profound swelling in my leg below my knee replacement that I had done in 2012. I cannot wear socks because they cause me pain. Can you tell me what is wrong?
Avatar f tn I have been on fentanyl, embeda and opana, Right now I have a spacer in my right knee because the staph infection was so severe they could not put in a knee yet so I still have one more surgery to go. My problem is the morphine er is not working or lasting so I have started taking 30mg of morphine with still no relief. My pain management doctor scared the crap out of me when he gave me narcon in case I overdose. I want to take 60mg of morphine to see if it will work but I am so scared.
1990784 tn?1331871778 I then started abusing them and about that time here in Houston, a pain management place popped on every corner, as well as pharmacies. I started going to 1. 4 months later i was going to 2 clinics, then 3, then 4, then FIVE. I was going to 1 per week. These places do not even have doctors, the are Physicans Assistants and I have noticed most of them are from Jamaica or Nigeria. You have to have medical records by your 2nd visit (which I have plenty of).
Avatar f tn I live in Montgomery. ;P In the middle of nowhere. The closest cine MRIs are also in Houston, for me.
Avatar f tn I had 3 surgeries on my right knee, my first in May 2008, 2nd in Oct 2008, and total knee replacement in April 2009. I have completed phsical theraphy at home for 7 weeks, and outpatient P.T for 6 add'l wks. I have more pain now than before. I can't walk without my cane for long periods, I can't sit, because my back now hurts, and I can't sleep too well. All medications and shot of cortisone don't seem to work well. I continue to search for a avenue of relief.
Avatar f tn So, in October - November 2021 I've had bursitis on my right knee for several weeks from prolonged kneeling possibly due to my old job which then turned into an abscess and was in hospital for a week on antibiotics with septic bursitis. The doctors were never sure how I developed it. If I remember correctly my doctor said it was gram positive cocci.
Avatar f tn s reputation. Houston air makes me very ill, but I could just fly in and back out. I wondered, however, in there any place close to central texas where I could go. It would be good to go to a place that does not make me sick, in case I decide to go back for some care. LA also makes me very ill, and I am looking for a teaching hospital much closer, anyway. I have also ruled out University of Alabama, for different reasons.. Thank you.
Avatar f tn i would think the weight gain has a lot to do with it, but having gone through 2 knee surgeries i know what knee pain is and i completely get u!! it is horribleee and unbearable... as i said weight gain usually affects the knees, but i don't think it should cause bruising, if though u have a pinched nerve or maybe even tore ur meniscus (which u can do without knowing, I did.. twice) then that might be causing the bruising..
Avatar f tn I'm in spring/north Houston. So Texas children's is waaaay out tthere for me. Sorry I can't be of any help. But the UTMB clinics are always Wonderful helpful and they treat you like family. If you have a chance you should go see them.
Avatar m tn t tell you a specific name, but if you are in SW Lousiana, you are close to Houston, and that is one of the greatest heart treatment centers in the world. I had valve surgery there. I did have a cardiologist who did my presurgical cath and who followed me postsurgically in the hospital, and I would go back to him anytime. He is extremely well regarded and is the head of a large, high-profile cardiology group.
Avatar f tn I feel better now but anyway I have been to neurologists in the USa and Argentina and EVERYTHING comes back normal (the results of different tests, I mean). Here in Buenos Aires I asked the neuro to test me for Lyme. They did a IFI method for detecting Antibodies and it came back normal (negative). I attend a clinic called FLENI, it is really good, great professionals, good tehcnology, etc..
Avatar n tn It would be best to consult your physician again and let him / her go through her entire case file and make a list of possible diagnosis and rule them out. If travelling is an issue, you could consider staying in houston for a couple of days, getting her admitted till the confirmed diagnosis is reached. Let us know about what the doctor advises and if you have any other symptoms. Keep us posted. Regards.
Avatar m tn My mother is 58 years of age. She has pain in her left knee for almost last one year and this leg is swollen for same period. We consulted various doctors (including ortho.) but there is no improvement. X-ray was done and she has been treated by doctors for crack in skin and infection, but there is no improvement. She can not put her full weight on right leg and can not move on stairs. There is small history of one injury in her legs.
