Do i take pristiq in the morning or at night

Common Questions and Answers about Do i take pristiq in the morning or at night

pristiq

I actually get almost 3 days of pain and depression relief from the tanning salon, where as one day of regular sunlight doesn't last thru the night. The other secret is taking this medication in the morning, not at night. This times the Cymbalta release with the natural rhythm of the sun and the body. If you take it before bedtime, then it will interfere with your sleep by boosting serotonin at night when you should be boosting melatonin.
Background - I take .25 or .5 mg of Xanax as needed for anxiety. I use it as a rescue drug than daily maintenance. To give yo uan idea, I have used is about 5 tiems in the past month. However, I probably needed it more often but I try to tough out situations (which isnt the best) and on the days that I don't take it, I typically feel some anxiety. When I "give in" and take it, my anxiety or panic attack is usually at least a 7 on a scale from 1-10.
If it keeps you awake at night then take in the the morning or noon. If it makes you sleepy then take in in the evening. You should do well on it. I have found it to be a very clean antidepressant. Weith makes it and they really know their stuff. They have some of the best antidepressants in the world.
Protriptilyne is taken in the morning. Take it at night and you will be awake all night long. Just some ideas for you from a person that is very medication resistant. Also, do not underestimate the antidepressant effect of Lithium at the right dosage. It can be a great add on drug to almost any antidepressant. Also add Deplin (just a Folate not a drug but by prescription only) Deplin helps blood plasma better utilize antidepressant drug effect. PS.
on Monday,Sept 5th had an appoitment with Psychiatrist, and after i explained her my symptons,( i also cried, was overwhelmed) she said I had a severe depression, so she also prescribed me Pristiq 50mg one tablet per day in the morning after breakfast. I never took the Pristiq i am scared of the side effects,So all this time since September 3rd until ,now October 13th, I've been only on Clonazepan,I am scared of becoming an addict as I have read these pills tend to be addictive.
July/09 I started taking effexor 75mg for anxiety & by Dec/09 was taking 187.5mg(150+37.5). I had already experienced hot flashes as part of menopause but this internal heat was so extreme, sweat would pour off me just getting ready to go to work in the morning & while at work I had a fan on me all the time! Winter here can get to 30 below celcius so why was I that hot all the time! From then up to Nov/09(a year) I visited my dr. to ask why this was happening.
I had horrible drymouth for awhile but that has gone away but now I am experiencing insomnia which is driving me crazy. I take Trazadone to get to sleep which works but then I wake up at 2 or 4 in the morning and can't go back to sleep. I walk at least 5 miles each day so you'd think that would help, but I always end up waking up for the past 2 weeks and average about 4 hours of sleep at night. Despite that, I like the fact that I actually feel like myself.
I went to the doctor and she prescribed another antidepressant, but said I could still take the Pristiq. She didn't question Pristiq. I came home, still not knowing what was wrong with me. For some reason it dawned on me that Pristiq might be the problem, so I read some articles about it on the internet. Sure enough, I had every single symptom. I googled "Pristiq and itching" and found that yes, other people itched all over when they took this horrible drug.
I'm not concerning myself w/what will happen when/if I come off the med - I'm looking at just feeling better - which I already do. I've taken a few other antidepressants in the past & for various reasons did not stay on them - mostly due to side effects such as no emotions/fatigue/weigh issues/sexual side effects..to this point none of those are an issue. Good luck!
Hi, I was just on celexa for the last two weeks and I did not like the way I was feeling, I was taking it in the morning 10mg for the first 5 days then the doctor said to take 20mg and I felt very spaced out at work and strange. I was once on celexa a few years back but my aniexty back then was not so major, this time I was sooo bad that I felt it did not work, it kept making me jump up out of my sleep the first week, and anxious and I was dizzy.
--if it starts happening, I take my meds and I at least keep the migraine from getting totally unbearable. If I wake at night/morning with one, I am bedridden all day. LAst week I awoke w/the worst headache that I ahve gotten so far and low and behold a new symptom----I couldn't read!!!! I am so glad to see someone posted that because I have never seen that symptom ever listed w/this condition. It totally freaked me a out--I kept staring at the words and had no idea what they said.
I had my spinal tap today. was supposed to come home rest & take it easy. when i came in i knew immediately my mother was "ill" i accused her of taking too much med's bc she had done that in the past if i have to leave her at home. She was very manic all night, hallucinating. I was up and down with her all night, no sleep. this was the second night with no sleep, i was too anxious to sleep before test. So to make this shorter, i took all her meds away & put them in my room.

I was on Amitriptyline for over 12 years and in the end the Bridge Centre mental health centre took me off them as I was overdosing. I used towake up in the night and take another one to get back to sleep. That's what happened with Nick Drake the folk singer. he was on Lentizol as it was called before Amitriptyline. He woke up during the night and took an overdose and his mother found him slumped over his bed in the morning. Acidental Death.

Hi Friends, Please come on in and make yourself at home. Get ready, cause it's quite a ride. You can do it!
If I can get my hands sorted out by the time they grow back I can at the very least be of the Pristiq as I will no longer need it for the nerve pain and depression it causes. That way it will be solely putting up with pain until we can kill it again. My doctor said some of the patients never needed to go back others he said needed zippers to make going back in so often easier :) If they made people zippers they would be rich. Anyway I don't know.
I have been with my dr for 13 years. I have neve had to take a ua before but the nurse said I had to take one in order to pick up my scrip for my oxy. Here is why I am scared. I had a friend give me a Ritalin one day and I course, murphy's law, the first time I tried it, only half a pill, to help me focus at work because I was in pain, is the day they asked for the ua. I sa my dr the next day and she disn't say anything about. Now we are two days later and they asked me to come in.

My mind races with a million random thoughts when I try to go to sleep. Takes me hours to get going int he morning -when I wake up-- at 11 am Feel like I have lead in my veins, Just a constant weary tiredness. Any exercise wipes me out. I sleep 12 hours every night....no day naps - but I used to nap daily.

these and the feeling that I let him down at the last moment when I could have stayed overnight in the hospital to watch over him instead of thinking of myself and my oldest daughter to not spend the night but instead went home to rest. In the morning when I went to the hospital, I saw a huge pill in his mouth, asked the nurse what it was. She went to find out, came back & said it was an antibiotic. Then she said something that has haunted me since 2005...she said to me.
Hi Tramadol Warriors! A new thread. New Day. New chance to take your life back. Welcome ....
I was naiive in thinking that you could control this, and at one point i could, now it's worsened to the point where i not only fear that i'll lose control of my mind, but i have begin to lose control of my body, don't know what's going on, my breathing, my vision, i can't sleep through the night, because when i lay down, i feel as if i'm moving or falling through the floor, i get these pulses in my brain that radiate throughout my body and take the form of pain and discomfort, i get occasional
Well time to get ready try to write more later i know i have been lazy about it lately but I will keep it up best I can to track myself. At least most of my equipment is still in pretty good shape so that will save some.
I too have an indention in the back of my head, it is at the top and a little to the left. I started having headaches in October everyday. This is right about the time that I was laid off from my job. I noticed the indent probably about a year ago but it had never hurt and wasnt sensitive. Since October i have had the headaches and my head is very sensitive to the touch. One touch and the headaches start...
Hi Everyone, Welcome brave Tramadol Warriors ... Come on in and make yourself comfy ... there's room for all!
As for the Klonopin, i did use it at the beginning of the year-- i was also very depressed at the time so it's hard to tell if the Klon was the cause or not. I will say though that I had far fewer anxiety, panic issues and at this point I will take a little of the depression to be relieved of panic if that makes any sense :-) I'm hoping the Prozac will work again and balance it all out. Osceola, thank you for the infor on the MBSR course! Believe me, it can't start soon enough!!!!
