Common Questions and Answers about Do effexor side effects go away

effexor

Avatar f tn I have been back on Effexor for two days now and I am dealing with the side effects. So my questions are how can I quit effectively these drugs? And do the panic attacks ever go away or it is something that stays with you for the rest of your life? Thank you for your help and your support.
Avatar m tn Hi i am trying to find out if any1 else who takes effexor has had as many side effects as i have, which is basically them all including seizures and blackouts? I was on 375mg put due to the risk of another seizure have dropped down to 300mg. Has anyone else experienced as many side effects and do you think its worth all the side effects to be be ?( stable for now neway) .The doctors seem to think its worth it but then they dont have a load of side effects to deal with.
4753943 tn?1359934569 When you do go off the Effexor, do a very long, slow taper. Mine was way too fast and I have really suffered. I did the percocet withdrawal first as well but the Effexor made the percocet withdrawals look like a piece of cake.
Avatar n tn i had similar side effects when coming off the depo shot. I thought i was pregnant and took 3 tests. they went away but it took about 6mo. My docs checked my hormones and pituitary gland and they we all fine. It's probably not the effexor but ck w/ your doc anyway.
466024 tn?1208320081 As far as the Effexor side effects go, the first week or two it really mellows you out and yes, you do sleep a little more, at least it affected me that way. I am now on 75 milgrams and after a couple of weeks you settle into your old routine. Effexor has worked great for me, especially with the racing thoughts and anxiety.
Avatar n tn Cancer removed May 22, 2007, chemo July 2nd through October 8, 2007, and radiation on left breast November 2nd through December 26, 2008. Side effect from Taxol perminent numb toes, side effects so far from Tamoxifen body temperature changes of warmth then cold. The web page sites and telephone numbers did not have this information.
Avatar m tn I have been on Effexor XR 150 mg for 2 years and have only had mild side effects including dizzyness - no headache.
Avatar m tn Go to drugs.com. It lists side effects that even the doctors do not know about from personal experience.
Avatar m tn Treatment started with 75mg Effexor and I got good result quickly. But the side effects started to mount up, I felt lazy, gained weight and lost interest in activities and sex. We cut back to 37.5 mg, things improved a little, but I want to feel more active again. it has been 18 months. Do I dare request to taper off? Is ther eeven a smaller dose? Would an different drug be an option. I think I am dealing with the flash back issue, but then again I am on Effexor!
Avatar m tn Hi there! Well, I've been on Effexor for over ten years. Started at a very low dose and I am at 150 mg for a long time now. So, I can't say if I remember all the side effects I had. But I will say that I definitely got sick to my stomach if I didn't eat immediately before taking it. This went away after a week or so as my body adjusted to the medication. I believe that the jitters and anxious feeling is all part of your anxiety.
Avatar n tn I was on Effexor for about 8 years and gained a lot of weight (but it could be some of the other drugs too). Since I got serious about losing weight my psychiatrist suggested we change to Welbutrin. I was on 150mg Efexor and then we changed to 75mg for two weeks, then 37.5 with 150mg of Welbutrin for two weeks and now only Welbutrin 300mg. It's only 3-4 days that I am completely off Effexor and since then I am dizzy as hell.
Avatar m tn Over the 20+ years I have taken anti depressants, I have experienced quite a few different side effects. Effexor was the best drug I ever took. I did well on it. Whereas others have given me side effects I could not handle. If you really do not want to stay on Effexor, then have a word with your doctor.
411389 tn?1230124477 Thanks Jerzeegal and MrGreen for replying to my post. I really cannot fathom why I would react so negatively to Effexor as what it's for seems so suitable to my disposition. Basically, for ten years I've been taking Diazepam, however, over the past couple of years I stuck with them, even though they failed to achieve any real change in me. I believe I may have been on them far too long and become somewhat immune to them.
Avatar f tn Sweating and constantly being hot are a side-effect of Effexor. I weened off Effexor and am now just on Tamoxifen. I have the occassional hot flash, but it's quite a bit better than when I first started Tamoxifen and Effexor. The mood swings are coming back now almost a year after ending Effexor, but I'm learning to handle that myself instead of with drugs.
Avatar n tn However the tremors are still there as well as extreme sweating, and muscle tightness. (I have been on this dose for approximately 2 weeks.
Avatar n tn s what will continue to happen. Has anyone had these side effects that are ongoing when you take Prestiq? Also, how do you recommend weaning off the medication. In the past, I had taken Effexor and had to wean off by breaking open the capsule and decreasing the grains. Thanks for any suggestions.
Avatar f tn Hi there, Ive been waiting to see if any one has had side effects from this drug. I started taking this Feb 2/08 was sick for the first 2 weeks. First period I spotted for 3 days, waiting for the next one no signs of anything yet have been regular for years. Im 46 and not in menapause. Increase in weight gain thought maybe just being lazy.... keep me posted on how your doing. I just started today first radiation treatment 24 more to go !!! Did you have radiation?
Avatar n tn Now I am just on the wellbutrin and I am fine, no side-effects at all. Also, the effexor withdrawal symptoms did have nausea, headache, vertigo... as well as other symptoms too for me, so it sounds like it could be effexor withdrawal for you too maybe. Hope the withdrawal symptoms get better soon! I really like wellbutrin, I hope it works well for you too!
Avatar n tn Does this side effect of discontinuation persist? Will it eventually go away? Is there some other treatment (preferably non-prescription) that will lessen it? I told my doctor about it and he just shrugged. (Typical, I'm afraid, of most doctors) which is why I am scouring the web for information. If anyone has any suggestions, I will be more than grateful.
Avatar n tn t eaten anything horrible) Is this all in my head( is it just that i have already convinced myself) or does this anti-depressant make you gain weight. I am really concerned about this and would like to hear others experiences with this. My second question is with alcohol.I know it says you shouldn't be drinking but is one or two glasses going to hurt me one day of the week?? Thank you guys so much for reading! Please please help me!!
Avatar n tn m having a panic attack and I had been controlled for years. I would love to get on a natural alternative so all of the side effects would go away.
Avatar n tn I spoke to a pharmasist who suggested stopping the effexor straight away and continuing with the Wellbutrin.
Avatar n tn I am now on welbutrin, and am a past user of effexor. which i experienced the many side effects that you and others are sharing. will talk further if you would like to.
