t let her go outside NYS so she cant go to Cleveland Clinic where her Dr. wanted her to go. The hospital that was chosen was Strong Memorial in Rochester NY. Well she had the consult and actually set up surgery thinking that both leaflets in the valves are shot and that they would be repaired. The surgeon reviewed the previous tests and he did an echo and he is not in agreement with my daughter's cardiologist he feels that it is moderate and not severe.

We visited Dr. Jonathan Mink in Rochester, Ny and he was wonderful. He is one of the few doctors out there that specializes in this disorder. I need to share my story and hopefully get some suggestions and support and wisdom out there. I recently turned 50. I my early 40's I suffered a series of losses in a short period of time - lost my dad, my mom, best friend from college, my sister had three brain tumors (3 separate operations and survived) my father in law, miscarriage, financial, etc. I never grieved all these losses, just pushed it inside so I could function. I wound up drinking to get thru the pain and became alcoholic.
I have been to NYC, Albany (there again Monday) and to Rochester (they are calling tomorrow with the appt date). I have blocked flow in 2 ventricles (CINE MRI). I have been told I need surgery, no syrinx or TC, but haven't found the one I am happy with yet.
She went to the ER near her school Rochester NY...they diagnosed it as an infection even though there was no obvious scratch or wound. She was put on 2 strong antibotics and sent home. Her face gradually got better of a 2 week period. Last Sat she called and said it was coming back...this time worse....it is effecting her speech and swallowing, bad headache and constant intense pain. She says when she bends her neck forward to her chest it increases her pain.
