I have the divorce papers in hand. My husband will be coming over to talk tonight. Where I will be laying down the law. I want to work thru this because I do love him And he is good to me. Other than the fact the yard cheated on me with a icky stripper.. things wont be there same. But I'm willing to try. For the kids if nothing else.. he will be tested for every std under the sun ( even those I have 2 that I was honest about)...

What would be the best most calm way to approach him to sign the papers as joint. I was thinking about having my parents and his sit down with us to have him sign them. To keep a calm environment. Well if you do decide to tell her then just prepare yourself for the worst on his family's part...that way it should be no surprise. At least you know when she's with her grandma she is at least safe. Also I got to thinking, I'm almost positive when I filled out my divorce papers there was a question in there that asked if I was pregnant. They told me the only other way to do it if my husband didn't come sign was to get the papers we had already well started into the divorce saying I was pregnant and it wasn't his but that wouldn't work in your case

Here in Australia custody rights happen with the divorce usually (its in our divorce papers) but it can happen at any time if the need arises, just means more money and lawyer/court costs. And like mizzztaylor said, unless they are adopted they still have to pay child support, don't let him get out of that one, thats what alot of these men try to do, think if they have nothing to do with them they won't have to pay for them.

Okay, I lived in illinois my whole life til my husband who is in the navy got stationed in california. My drivers license is still illinois (I got it renewed a few months after we moved to cali when I came to visir family), my plates for my car, blah blah blah. You may be able to file but not go to court until after baby is here. In divorce papers they will set up child support, visitation, medical support for baby etc. but do yourself a favor and when they set child support immediately go to your child support office and have all checks go through state that way he and you is protected.

First...thank you ladies for all the feedback. Update: I did tell my lawyer that I'm pregnant and that it's not my soon to be ex husbands. My lawyer wrote up the settlement and cleverly noted that I'm pregnant ...not with his child and in a way that my ex won't know that I'm expecting. It's legal and my ex won't find out through the divorce papers or at all if I can help it. I did all that worrying for nothing and you all are great for the support!!!

It took him about a year of fighting to convice her to give him the divorce papers. However he got married in Nevada his ex is there along with his two kids he had with her. We live in Minnesota and he couldn't make it to the court house there to get divorced so they held a court hearing over the phone. well if your married in most countries you are entitled to half of everything he owns.... so you dont have nothing. if he kicked you out of the home while your pregnant that only proves he is an incapable and uncaring parent since his child currently resides in you.
