d personally seek legal advice as it is his child and some states/countries have very specific policies on parents taking children away. As horrible as it is that he doesn't want to be with you that doesn't automatically make him a bad father and it doesn't give you the right still to take away his rights. Alternatively you could get his consent to move and that way u won't have legal hassles depending how amicable things are.

Joint custody is only for Married couples that are on the verge of divorce, so the child cam maintain the same life style.

Need advice from anyone who's had to deal with sharing custody of their newborn. So I'm obviously not with my babies father and he is insisting when the baby is born that we should have 50/50 custody. I can't imagine how that would work. Well I never have been through a divorce but have been through a court child custody case in las Vegas, NV. In Nevada child support is 18% for 1 child and goes to 24% for 2 children. Now that is based off gross income not what he brings home. If the filing was strictly for divorce then that's all the judge would handle. If he wants partial custody/visitation with the children then he would have to file for that. In which the filing has to take place in the state of which the children live.

Idk what the laws are where you are but here in KY you can not file for divorce until the child is born. You can file for legal separation but that is it. I would go ahead and call a lawyers and see what the rules are in your area. You may be able to file but not go to court until after baby is here. In divorce papers they will set up child support, visitation, medical support for baby etc.

Does anyone know anything about Florida child support and child custody? I can't find any solid amswers and i wanna.be prepared legally for whatever the sperm donor may or may not do.

Our school has a program for kids that have gone through family changes such as divorce which your child might really benefit from something like that. You can call a suicide prevention hot line and also discuss with them ideas on what to look for with your child. He may just be using that phrase and I sure hope so, but you just need to make sure that's all it is and get help either way to get him through a tough emotional time.

If you dont need him or his money just leave it be BUT if he starts acting like he wants to be in her life take him to court for custody and put him on child support this way u have it in writing and he can never take her from u cause he has the right to take her dont mean to scare u

Were almost half way there and ive been thinking alot! My husband has three girls from his previous marriage. We've got custody of two. Their mother won't allow us to get the 3rd. The thing im worried about is if he finds out before the divorce papers are signed he will think I want the divorce more than him and try n use it as leverage to get half custody of our daughter 'not that he wants it for her he just thinks that would get him out of court ordered child support, and he also has nothing to do with her now' I know how dumb that is and I know it wouldnt go down that way, but I do know the way he thinks and it would just complicate and hold up the divorce..

Here in Australia custody rights happen with the divorce usually (its in our divorce papers) but it can happen at any time if the need arises, just means more money and lawyer/court costs. And like mizzztaylor said, unless they are adopted they still have to pay child support, don't let him get out of that one, thats what alot of these men try to do, think if they have nothing to do with them they won't have to pay for them.

s nephew (his cousin, also a minor) a few years ago and did see a doctor for a little bit. Ahm maybe you should think twice before moving in. Men who love you don't say those kinds of things. He has given you a red flag. Tread carefully. Sometimes men want custody to keep from paying child support. Always have your own money so he can't say he takes care of everything and that you can't provide for your baby. Keep a job honey. This may not end well.

Her real mom is taking him to court for sole custody all of a sudden she has also had child abuse on her with the child use to beat on her when she was a tot.she has taken my husband to court about 5 times now and maybe see the kid 2 times a year and is not there for her at all. Shes mad she has to pay child support for the last two years. And lies in court about everything and everytime the judge tells her u need to be in her life more period. And know here was r again court.
