Avatar n tn I am a 54 yr. old post menopausal lady who is on Divigel hormone therapy. I've had a complete hysterectomy. My question is WHY AM I HOT ALL THE TIME??? I don't have hot flashes anymore. Maybe 2 a week. This being hot all the time started about 12 yrs. ago, when I started having pre menopausal symptoms. The Dr. started me on the hormone therapy way back then to treat my hot flashes and it worked but I was still left with an over heated body.

Avatar n tn My beta is scheduled for 12/15 but I'm feeling PMS like cramping; is it possible if I'm not pregnant to get my period prior to the beta?
689860 tn?1238718032 Be sure your doctor monitors your levels monthly including your estradiol (estrogen) levels. When your proper testosterone levels are achieved, continue to monitor your estradiol levels monthly for up to 6 months. If they rise too high, a drug that is normally used for females with breast cancer called Arimidex will take care of the problem. It neutralizes the enzyme that causes testosterone to aromatize into estrogen.
Avatar m tn You should most definitely be on estrogen ( I use Divigel ) for sure. That should help some. I also take Biotin supplement ( it's good for hair, nails and skin ) The Divigel stopped my hot flashes, but I still have a big problem with being hot. Like there's an oven running inside of me constantly. Ugh. Oh yea, something else you can do that good for your skin is........
Avatar f tn I am taking Crinone gel for infertility, have been taking for 4 months days 17- end of cycle. I am also taking clomid and estradiol. I am currently on day 23 (7th day on crinone) of my cycle and have started having so very mild almost pinching cramps intermittently. They are not painful, but I was just wondering if anyone else has cramping with crinone, I am still about 8 days away from when I am supposed to start my period.
Avatar f tn My OB put me on Clomid, Estradiol and Prochieve 8% gel... I believe that the symptoms have progressed tremendously these last few days. Almost had to pull over on my way to work this morning. I'm only on CD 12; we start BD today! Good luck and much Baby Dust coming your way!
374593 tn?1257879950 I always thought that the estradiol was to make sure your lining was thick enough for implantation. Because I now the drugs like clomid can thin your lining making it impossible for the egg to implant. I could be wrong though.
Avatar f tn How long after a confirmed pregnancy are you suppose to continue taking Estradiol? Just read on the internet that it can cause birth defects and I can't reach my doctor to confirm this.
Avatar n tn I am on 200 mg prometrium /5 mg estradiol, and metformin as well as tirosint. The prometrium and estradiol is for hot flashes. The metformin for prediabetes, couldn't get my a1c down, and tirosint for thyroid disease. My question is this...the prometrium and estradiol are causing my blood sugars to stay high, as well as make me very tired, as well as making me gain weight. I walk briskly at least 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour daily. I watch what I eat, low sugars, etc.
Avatar f tn I have a female MD (specializing in hormonal supplements) who has prescribed me estradiol gel which I take daily, 100 mg of prometrium and 10 mg of armour thyroid daily. I have had blood work up the wahoo and it took many months for me to get "regulated" with hormonal therapy. For over 20 years I have complained of being hot, but no Dr I have ever seen (and I have seen dozens) has ever given me any reason whatsoever for being hot.
7649183 tn?1393014236 Menostar (estradiol transdermal system) 14 mcg per day - each 3.25 cm2 system contains 1 mg of estradiol. Vivelle-Dot® (estradiol transdermal system), 0.025 mg/day - each 2.5 cm² system contains 0.39 mg of estradiol USP for nominal* delivery of 0.025 mg of estradiol per day. Since the Menostar patch is applied once/weekly and contains 1 mg of estradiol, then that's around .14 mg/day (the data says .014 mg/day). The Vivelle-dot is applied twice/weekly and contains .
Avatar n tn It is hard to predict. The higher levels of estrogen may promote the midcycle LH surge, which is what urine OPKs look for. If this happens, the surge might come a couple of days earlier. This is called positive feedback. On the other hand, the higher estrogen levels my inhibit LH (this is called negative feedback) delaying the surge. You will need to test for ovulation to find out.
Avatar f tn m in my late 30s - the first month I was tested, my estradiol was 374 and my FSH 5.2. The next month my estradiol dropped to 87 and my FSH increased to 10.1. I'm at a loss of whether I should keep trying or just say that a baby isn't in my cards. Anyone else heard of estradiol dropping hundreds of points in a single month?
1129774 tn?1279831762 I have read that some women can burn through the estrogen quicker. My dr. gave me samples of the Divigel to try instead. I really want to stay on the patch bc of the ease of use. I am wondering if I need a higher dose or if it just does not work for me totally. Does anyone know a good supplement to help with those symptoms above. I have read a little about Maca magic or Wisdom menopause formula. They both seem to address the hot flashes and mood swings.
Avatar f tn I am currently taking Lupron and Estradiol leading up to my IVF. I am having awful headaches and some nausea with the estradiol. Did anyone else experience this and does it go away? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I got the results of my bloodwork today and my FSH is 6.34, LH - 2.46 and Estradiol 96.3. Can anyone say if this looks good especially the estradiol?
Avatar f tn I want enough estradiol in me to make sure I can string a sentence together, avoid depression, have a sex drive, have better word retrival, have strong bones, less moodiness, have good heart function, no cramping in legs (the worst when I am low in my estradiol)... no foot problems (yes... when estradiol was too low for a few years...bad doc's advice... yuk,... I ended up having to have surgery on both feet).. no joint pain... I could go on and on and on.
