1134500 tn?1260875857 after reaserch on my machine i was exposed to ammonia gas given off from sodium nitrate in the water, the ph level was 12 when i found out after ph of 7 ammonia gas is given off,i was not protected by any ppe.the question was can this chemical cause my cluster headaches,as i know ammonia can trigger them off but dont know about causing them...thanks glen.
Avatar m tn then the next day i drank 2 bottles of water in a row and the same thing happened. it let up after a few hours, i was feeling a little better and started drinking more water... same thing happened again but worse... then went though the same thing the next day but it was worse, and i wasnt connecting it was the water... by chance my husband found this sight and was reading about water being an irritant.
Avatar f tn It probably has nothing to do with the gender of your baby, but if the bleach foams and fizzles it could mean there is a larger than normal amount of ammonia in your urine. This could indicate a health problem, or it could simply mean that you are dehydrated. It is also possible that, if the concentration of ammonia is high enough, chlorine gas will form.
Avatar f tn I have heard of this and it isn't safe at all nor remotely accurate. Urine has ammonia in it and when ammonia and bleach mix it releases a very toxic gas, and almost always when urine hits bleach it will fiz or foam that's what creates the gas. I had a friend who tried this once in high school, (just for fun, she wasn't pregnant nor did she want to be) and she ended up in the hospital from the gas it created. Sorry didn't mean to scare you just stating the facts.
Avatar f tn The gap is present in every picture at different angles of this duct. Is it possible to appear as a gap in all of the pictures (even in the one with contrast) because the duct is not straight? My symptoms of severe abdominal pain and vomiting were reproduced after the first HIDA scan. However, after starting the medication to dissolve the gallstones, those symptoms disappeared, but all the other symptoms that I currently have remained.
Avatar m tn First of all, proteus can decompose urea to produce ammonia. We have all heard the smell of ammonia. The smell of urine in the toilet is the smell of ammonia. Therefore, the urine odor of PATM patients is produced by Proteus. In addition, proteus produces indole and hydrogen sulfide in our intestines. Indole is another name for faecal odor. The reason why feces stink is because of the high concentration of indole in feces. The fecal odor of PATM patients is produced by Proteus.
Avatar m tn What can cause a ammonia smell in sweat and Colin? the girl had the same smell.
Avatar f tn High concentrations are really dangerous, but low concentrations could be tolerated by other humans. You can have a blood test to check the levels of ammonia in your blood, but I’ve not got round to investigating it yet. I’m convinced it’s a gas or a toxin linked to one of our bio-chemical body reactions. One day it will all make sense.
Avatar n tn NEVER EVER USE AMMONIA AND BLEACH! NEVER! Mixed together they form a poisonous gas. Then leave the house to take care of errands. In an hour or two come back and do another three foot by three foot portion, and again leave the house. Keep the bathroom window open. When the entire bathroom is done, wash down the walls thoroughly. It may take you several days to work your way through the bathroom. Keep the dehumidier on. And the windows open. You can use a sponge mop on the walls.
Avatar n tn Urine has ammonia in it. Ammonia mixed with bleach makes a VERY toxic gas.
Avatar f tn For us PATM sufferers, its more of an ammonia smell which also includes an ammonia discharge around the groin/anus. I was on Neomycin for almost a month to reduce the production ammonia. Helped with the bad breath for a while but then my body got immune to it. I was still getting reactions from other cars while on Neomycin.
Avatar n tn It has to dissolve into the fluid in your eye, and then be removed by whatever process circulates that fluid in your body, and the gas dissolution is a relatively slow process. Two kinds of gas are used for bubbles, one is quite slow to dissolve and one is faster. Good luck with your procedure and recovery!
Avatar f tn I heard it was the ammonia in windex so as long as u get the ammonia free u should be ok but id talk to my dr first
Avatar n tn Urine is high in nitrates, compounds high in nitrogen and oxygen. Ammonia is made up of nitrogen and hydrogen. (NH3) What you are smelling is the high concentration of bonded nitrogen. Normally, diluted urine doesn't have much odor. If you're dehydrated and your urine becomes highly concentrated, it can have a strong ammonia smell.
Avatar n tn However if you choose a diet rich in fiber you may be able to skip that. It will depend on your ammonia levels which a blood test will reveal. You need to get to 3 good bowel movememnts a day to keep blood ammonia down, which is the largest cause of brain fog. If you treat for hep C with SOC you should also see a drop in this problem as your liver returns to normal function and enymes levels.
Avatar f tn I'm 31 have had hep c for more than 10 years. The only treatment I've taken is lactalose for my high ammonia levels. I don't have insurance or the money to go to doctors. I have for the past year belched uncontrollably and loudly. It's got worse and more frequently to have become a consistent part of everyday whether I've eaten or drank anything including water. Please help!!!
Avatar m tn however, I don’t believe CT scan is the most effective way of gauging progression of liver disease. In regards to Hep C, we often get a needle biopsy to judge how much fibrosis has developed over the course of our disease. I believe a CT scan would probably detect frank cirrhosis if it was present; I think it can detect regenerative nodularity, organ dimensions, etc.
Avatar n tn Depending on where you live, your town's water supply may use a lot of ammonia or bleach to purify it. In my town, they use so much you can smell it right out of the tap. When you intake this, it is filtered out through the kidneys and down the urinary tract during urination, but your body will find other ways of getting it out too, like sweating or during ejaculation. Drinking bottled water should prevent this, if that's the case with your husband.

Avatar f tn Another symptom the article gave was an ammonia smell in the nose. Someone commented once that they smelled ammonia. I truly believe this is the cause of my problems. Another thing that surprised me is that I remember taking pepto bismuth and it would make some difference. I read that pepto bismuth, activated charcoal and gas x are all good . I think I will follow a low sulphur diet and see if it helps. Joint pain is also a symptom which I do have and doctors has said it is not arthritis.
Avatar n tn Hi there. Ammonia levels are correlated with a person's liver status, and bacterial load of the colon and bowels. Patients with liver disease are unable to process or detoxify ammonia so that ammonia levels can reach dangerously high levels. This is coupled by increased ammonia production of colonic bacteria, especially if one is constipated or has an irregular bowel movement. High protein intake can also lead to an incresed ammonia production.
Avatar n tn Ammonia smell in urine could be due to bacterial infection in the urinary tract without regular symptoms of UTI, dehydration, consumption of red meat or high protein foods. I would suggest that you get a urine analysis with culture and visit a urologist for further confirmation. Best.
Avatar f tn If the liver is decompromised it cannot metabolize the waste products hence there is an elevation of blood ammonia levels resulting in increased excretion in the urine. Also, increased levels of ammonia may also be seen with gastrointestinal bleeding, where the blood cells are haemolysed in the intestines, releasing protein. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
