Avatar m tn Pharmacological stress Tc-99m MIBI scan was performed with Dipyridamole given at arate of 0.14 mg/Kg/min over 4 minutes followed by injection of radio tracer 6 minutes later. Findings are: Peak stress images revealed hypoperfused infero-septal and apical segment, which showed reversal at rest. Impression: Findings are consistent with infero-septal and apical reversible ischemia. Thanks all!
Avatar m tn The adverse effects experienced are similar to those with use of adenosine. While adverse effects are less frequent with dipyridamole (47% of patients), they tend to be more serious than those associated with adenosine. The most common adverse effects of dipyridamole are chest pain (19%), headache (12%), and hypotension (4.6%). In addition, 12% of patients require aminophylline for reversal of adverse effects.
Avatar m tn Dipyridamole was infused coupled with low level excercise without any significant complaints and ischemia ECG changes. heart rate changed from 68 to 100/min and blood pressure from 130/80 to 140/90 mm of HG. Findings: Images acquired after stress injection of Tc-99m-MIBI showed markedly reduced to absent tracer uptake at apex, antoseptal wall, apical anterior segments and almost whole of the inferior wall.
Avatar f tn Does mibi spect show any abnormalities in right ventricle of the heart or only the left?
Avatar f tn Persantine is dipyridamole, but you will have to get extended release tablets as the two asprin and dipyridamole should not be taken together. Don’t change the medications without discussing with your doctor. So, consult him and then decide. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn What is nonreversible apical inferior wall and what does it mean when they say no dipyridamole-induced reversible ischemia .there is mild defect in the apical inferior wall that is not reversible at rest.
Avatar m tn While you are taking Aggrenox (aspirin/dipyridamole), you should avoid taking over-the-counter pain medicine, especially any other products containing aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Also, Avoid alcohol, or drink a minimal amount, as the combination of Aggrenox and alcohol could cause stomach bleeding.
Avatar n tn Some of the alternatives include aspirin, Clopidogrel (Plavix), ticlodipine (Ticlid), dipyridamole (Persantine). Another alternative is Heparin injection. Different situations require different levels of anticoagulation. It is important to discuss the best treatment option with a physician.
Avatar m tn Hello All, I just came back from my doctor and he told me the results of both Nuclear Mibi and Echocardiogram. Nuclear Mibi showed nothing ,No heart damage and no CAD.Echocardiogram showed some sort of fatty inside heart around the backwall or closer which doctor needs to examine further and he will do further testing like looking into my heart etc etc. He terms it as Pallicardium which I googled and nothing came up like the term does not exist .Maybe I am spelling it incorrectly.
Avatar f tn I suffered a mild stroke (blood clot) Consultant prescribed Clopidogrel but cannot tolerate side effects. Then consultant prescribed Dipyridamole. I cannot tolerate this either. Severe headache, vomiting and diarrhoea. Has anybody got a different medication they are on?
Avatar f tn Symptoms are as follows, - Anxiety when falling asleep - Tightening through arms and chest - Arrhythmia at times - Low blood pressure - I was startled like my blood is going to stop circulating - jolt out of bed feeling like I am going to faint, this causes my heart to race, I am awaiting an Angiogram, my cardiologist swears I am fine, but want this test to rule out the Ischemia found on my Mibi test.

Avatar f tn ECG, 24hr Holter, MIBI and Echo, during MIBI it was determined though that I do have excercise induced LBBB. Was put on BP meds 180mg once a day Tiazac, had helped a bit, chest pressure is less, heart rate has diminished at times - but not consistant. Blood work all fine except verry low ferritin, I've been taking 900mg iron daily. I was also tested for pheocromocytoma (tumor in adrenal glands) will get results tomorrow.
Avatar n tn ECG last month showed SVES, RBBB. This week he has stress test with dipyridamole protocol, and injection of thallium-201. The result showed "evidence of mild, small to medium size, irreversible perfusion defect in the inferior/inferolateral wall (mid to basal level)." Could you explain what this means? Does he need to have surgery or pacemaker? thanks in advance for your help.
Avatar f tn Which diagnostic test would be best to test for artery blockage the thallium or the MIBI? or should I start with a stress echo? I have had some minor chest pain, a dull pain down my left arm, and some upper central back pain. I don't want to wait until I have a heart attack. My 75 year old dad just had triple bypass surgery last week after an MI. Thank you!
Avatar n tn False negative imaging is especially common when exercise is submaximal or in dipyridamole/adenosine studies of patients with severe obstructions of all three major coronary vessels. False positive scanning may be caused by signal attenuation from an elevated left hemidiaphragm or from breast tissue. These artifactual defects can be identified by performing a gated perfusion study to assess regional wall motion.
Avatar f tn t take my pill because I had an early MIBI nuclear test at the hospital which lasted till noon. But after reading the comments I will not worry about it and take tomorrow morning. However I was wondering if there is a special diet or food that should not be taken. I will not see my Dr till October and am worried that I might be eating stuff I shouldn't. Thank you. Really appreciate this site. Great info.
Avatar f tn I wracked it up to indigestion went back to bed till the next day when I stopped the HRT and went to emerg, then to my family doctor who booked me for a MIBI test & xrays last Monday Tuesday and prescribed a muscle relaxant & pain meds.
Avatar f tn / , soo i thought mibi that could be the start of my period but it lasted for a day.

Avatar f tn so they are re-reading it and might send me for another one. I also got an MIBI test done where during the stress test part of it my blood pressure went to 200/120 with my pulse at 166, they saw I had gone into V-Tach and stopped the test, I felt awful during this test, chest pains, shortness of breath and VERY scared. My cardiologist now said that I have a left bundle malfunction, where under excercise it stops working but it resumes at rest.
1857863 tn?1321448966 I wish I could exercise but I'm on bed rest :/ I can only go to the bathroom if I need to, take a shower & lay back down

Avatar m tn 15 and ECG was fine. Anyway I asked to do stress test and Nuclear MIBI ,EKG etc etc and all came back normal, so doctor released me without any medication. However I started having shortnes of breadth and chest pain on and off . Sometimes i am just sitting in my room and Palpitations start .On some days I feel Palpitations all day and chest pain as well.
1588890 tn?1297073916 aspirin, anti platelet agents like dipyridamole help in reducing clotting complications unless you have bleeding problems. Potential complications are strokes, heart attacks, pulmonary embolism, and potential transformation into leukemia. Methotrexate is indicated in acute lymphoblastic leukemia with steroids for acute remission. Please consult your hematologist for the possible indicate of methotrexate in your scenario. Take care.
Avatar m tn I am a 74 year old male in reasonably good health. 3 years ago, after many tests for heart related problems (eeg's, MRI, ecg's, heart monitor, MIBI test, angiogram, nitro patch, abdominal ultrasound, chest Xrays, plus others) the only conclusion was that I had arrhythmia for an irregular heart beat. My cardiologist prescribed 2.5 mg of bisprolol daily which I have taken faithfully and up to now I have not had any issues of significance.
