? . I have high blood pressure. I was taking diovan 320 and dilitiazem 360 & metoprolol 100mg. With this my blood pressure averaged 130-140 over 80-90. Now all of a sudden my blood pressure was down to 85-90/50 with a pulse of 50'ish, i was dizzy and felt weak. I dropped my diovan to 160 and dilitiazem to 120, but my pressure is still running about 95/55 w/a 60 pulse. I feel my blood pulsing? thru my body, and am sweaty. Whats up???
Recently I stopped taking Diovan, because I noticed that it appeared that this whole thing started after i took Diovan. I tested my blood sugar and my mornings results for two days were in the 130s and went up to 150 again, so I went back on Diovan per my doctor's insistence.
Then my doctor suggested about two weeks ago that I switch to Lantus (My A1c is at 7.2 now). I did that and no change. I tried adjusting the amount, almost up to 50 a day, no change.
I diminished the Diovan HCT to nothing and plan in August after more walking and careful diet to have another fasting blood sugar done since I am hoping the high reading was due to the hydroclorothiazine and not belly fat, obesity and a family history of type 2 diabetes. So what's my question? What is the likelihood that avoiding gluten has resulted in a normal blood pressure (and no diarrhea or gut pain but I expected that plus much, much diminished tingling).

Yes, i was put on Avandia for Type 2 abt 5 years ago. Since then my #'s have improved with diet and exercise to the point that a new Dr. said she saw no reason for me to be on Avandia and i have since stopped useing it. It was never vy high, around 159 or so when it was diagnosed. If i am not careful of my diet it can jump up to the 130's to 140's. Am also on diovan for HBP which is usually under good control with the 1 med.
my dad had a triple bypass last apr 21. last saturday, jul 4/2009 he started on diovan 160/12.5 (from corvesy+) and since Sat he's been experiencing chest pains that is not going away. is this a side effect? is he allergic to the this new med he's taking or is this angina? should he get himself to an ER?
I'm a 64 yrs. old woman who used to take Diovan 320 mg. & Toprol 50 mg. for my B.P. My B.P. readings was okay but my Doctor discontinued the Toprol because my heart rate usually on the 40's. I am currently taking Norvasc 5mg. with the Diovan 320 mg. So far, my B.P. readings is very good, 110/70. But eversince I started the Norvasc, my left leg is swelling and it is becoming worst. I'd like to ask my Doctor to discontinue the Norvasc.

When my systolic blood pressure goes to over 200, should I go to the hospital. I take 40 mg. of Lisinopril twice per day; Diovan 320mg - twice per day and Clonidine HCL 0.2 mg at bedtime. My Nephrologist wants me to take the Clonidine in the mornings also, but I cannot function - I am too dizzy and weak. I have had a stent placed in the artery leading to my left kidney and my pressure has gotten higher.
Been having problems with my blood pressure. I was wondering if theres a certain med for this that's safer for the liver. Any info appreciated.
