diovan and low blood pressure

I can no longer take my heart meds for high blood pressure and irregular hb; topomax for migraines; metaphormin; and a few others. Which I quit taking some of my meds before pregnancy because I did a lifestyle change in which it helped enough that I could quit taking the extra meds. As far as C-section...both my boys were early but big because of the diabetes (not gestational) and I could not have them natually so this is another C-section baby.

? . I have high blood pressure. I was taking diovan 320 and dilitiazem 360 & metoprolol 100mg. With this my blood pressure averaged 130-140 over 80-90. Now all of a sudden my blood pressure was down to 85-90/50 with a pulse of 50'ish, i was dizzy and felt weak. I dropped my diovan to 160 and dilitiazem to 120, but my pressure is still running about 95/55 w/a 60 pulse. I feel my blood pulsing? thru my body, and am sweaty. Whats up???

With the loss of 44 pounds, I too ended up with very low blood pressure and went to the doctor about it, he cut me back to 60 mg now and suggested that I take my blood pressure every day and monitor if the 60 mg is low enough or not. I do feel better now on the lower dose, but my blood pressure has been a little erratic but is still in the normal rang now as opposed to being too low.

My BP top # gets that high too when I'm anxious, like at the doctor's office & I've caught it that high after a social event like church or having friends over. I've been having " white coats syndrome" for many years, but only recently discoved it was also high when I've been out having a good time with friends etc. My cardio Dr. put me on diovan 160mg. Most of my readings are within normal range, but my top # still gets to 150 or 160 when I'm anxious.

Why dont they ditch the ace inhibitors and beta blockers, and put you onto calcium channel blockers. These will lower blood pressure, by resticting the amount of calcium that the artery muscles can absorb, and act as a heart relaxant. 200+ is too high and sustained levels as high as this are likely to start causing long term problems. I assume kidney tests have shown they are functioning correctly?

Hello, I just started on HBP medication. I was about 156/92 about 1 week ago. Today I am at 110/69. I am losing weight and eating better than I did 3 months ago. 3 months ago I was at 230lbs, and I would always get these pains in my chest and my heart would beat fast. Current weight 207lbs. Cardiologist said I have too many extra beats and put me on Atenolol on Tuesday. But he doesn't know about my history of HBP from my family doctor. My BP had always been high since last year.

Been having problems with my blood pressure. I was wondering if theres a certain med for this that's safer for the liver. Any info appreciated.

My medication is Diovan 160mg and 12.5 mg valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide. And yes this was a typo should read 121/71 This whole thing drive me crazy---- blood pressure keeps going down as I further into the squash game --- then I get dizzy.......

I am taking 160 mg Diovan for high blood pressure, as well as 20 mg Levostatin for high cholesterol. I believe that I have ed caused by the Diovan. Is it safe to take ed drugs as well?

I hope Ryan is reading this.Anyone feel free to answer.I had some high blood pressure before I started the Klonopin.I have been taking Klonoping for 1 yr,2mg a day.Mainly for panic,and anxiety.I am a 43 yr old female,and seem to have inherited the high blood pressure.I thought the Klonopin would help with the blood pressure,but it doesen't seem to.I would like to know the best blood pressure med,without the side effects.Like weight gain.Maybe something that has a diuretic as well.

To bring down the creatin levels Now I am on clonidine 3 xs a day and tekturner 150 mg and diovan 160 mg . still havimng erratic blood pressure this moring 160/144...I am goin to a Duke specialist tomorrow and see what they are goin to tell me.....

I do not have a history of high blood pressure. However, when I went into my a-fib attacks, my blood pressure would shoot up during the attacks. My EP thought that maybe it was caused by me being anxious during the a-fib attack.

I battle this also. Had a quintuple in 07 at age 49. BP is puzzling at times. I eat very heart healthy, low sodium, and take Metoprolol. It does not go as high as yours, but sometimes hits 150/93, or around 135/88 - which is always alarming to me. Two things I have noticed that keep it in a good range (120/80) are regular exercise and low alcohol intake. I have a tendency at time to watch a Friday evening movie with a few glasses of wine - the next day my BP is always up.

Currently maxed out on Diovan and Toprol. Experiencing from 170/79 to 192/90 readings in mornings. My PCP has added Imdur: 2/ 30mg @ night with 320 mg Diovan; and 1/ 30mg Imdur with 200mg Toprol in the morning. I can walk a mile but have to rest as I still desaturate on 6L O2. Recently started Symbicort inhaler and systemic blood pressure went up 180/108 and was wondering if the med would be likely to raise pulmonary pressure as well. i am on diovan 360mg twice a day, betaxolo 10mg and hctz 25 mg. and i cannot loose weight, I have gained 20 lobs after taking the hctz for a year or more. Not matter how little I eat or how much i exercise I gain. I have tried stopping the hctz and then my bp shoot up. Help!!!

4 years ago after the birth of my child I was on 4 different medications. Today none, and my blood pressure is 100/60. All the ideas mammo gave you on exercise, low salt diet and more is what helped me get off medications and get my BP back on track. It isnt good to walk around with uncontrolled blood pressure so for sure get in as soon as you can and get things sorted around with your doctor.
