diovan and leg pain

readings is very good, 110/70. But eversince I started the Norvasc, my left leg is swelling and it is becoming worst. I'd like to ask my Doctor to discontinue the Norvasc. Is there any other calcium blocker that doesn't cause swelling? I've already taken Zestril (ace inhibitor) with the Diovan before. Can you please tell me what other good medications to be taken with the Diovan. I appreciate your help.

Diovan can rarely cause muscle breakdown and associated muscle pain and cramps and it is advised to consult your doctor to rule out the possibility as a cause. Diovan also causes increased level of potassium. Both increased and decreased levels of potassium have been linked to muscle weakness. Also, though leg pain can be caused by depletion of potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium etc.

They usually hit me 2 or 3 times a night and when I wake in the morning time, I am soar all over from muscle fatigue. I have had mri and ct of the brain, neck and abdominal and chest areas, all kinds of blood work, colonoscopy and everything comes back normal. Chest pain is not a known side-effect of diovan/hctz. Given the fact that he had a recent bypass I would urge you to take him to the ER ASAP.

For three weeks of consistently avoiding gluten the BP has stayed in the healthy range. I diminished the Diovan HCT to nothing and plan in August after more walking and careful diet to have another fasting blood sugar done since I am hoping the high reading was due to the hydroclorothiazine and not belly fat, obesity and a family history of type 2 diabetes. 3 months ago I was at 230lbs, and I would always get these pains in my chest and my heart would beat fast. Current weight 207lbs. Cardiologist said I have too many extra beats and put me on Atenolol on Tuesday. But he doesn't know about my history of HBP from my family doctor. My BP had always been high since last year. Untill now my Family doctor put me on Diovan 80mg plus Cardiologist put me on Atenolol 50mg. Can High Blood pressure cause PVC's?

I had taken Toprolol when much younger and in normal sinus rhythm (then it too was 50mg SR) and it had no side effects that I can recall, I was still running for exercise. You might want to discuss using a calcium channel blocker to lower blood pressure. In all my comments are made with no knowledge of "diovan" and its side-effects. Good luck in finding a way to keep the BP normal, that is an important issue.

All seem to be symptome of hypothyroidism, yet my endo will not even try a low dose synthroid. I am taking Diovan HCT and the few things I have read, say it can skew the results. I am at my wits end in trying to feel better. I know it is my thyroid, but cannot get doc's to listen. Any advice?

Part 1: I am a 54 year old male. I have high blood pressure and have been on medication for about 2 years now. I started taking Diovan 40 mg about 3 years ago, but my doctor thought it wasn't working so he increased it to 160 mg. After a while, I started feeling dizzy or light headed and We decided to cut down diovan to 80 mg. the dizziness went away for a few monts then it came back and was getting worse. I made a big mistake of stopping the Diovan all together.

I can no longer take my heart meds for high blood pressure and irregular hb; topomax for migraines; metaphormin; and a few others. Which I quit taking some of my meds before pregnancy because I did a lifestyle change in which it helped enough that I could quit taking the extra meds. As far as C-section...both my boys were early but big because of the diabetes (not gestational) and I could not have them natually so this is another C-section baby.

re taking there. Have you tried going back to basics and doing heat and massage and accupuncture? All those medicines every day will be hell on yor internal organs and might do more harm then good.

and I was put on a beta blocker from that point on.. as to stop the palps and control the b.p. / the Toprol xl and diovan both lowered b.p well and stopped the palps for me.. but iv been living life in pain and suffering for 6years now.. as the side effects from toprol and diovan are very harsh for me! I cant understand why a Doctor would go backwords and put me back on a medication that caused me problems before? seems strange to me !

I was slowly weened off Toprol xl and Diovan - about 8 months ago - and put on ccb -verapamil and dieretic maxzide iv been on them for about 4 months - and have been having problems, such as ankles swelling. and closeing throat when eatting! as well bloating belly conditions. over the past month iv noticed my face is always red in color. and my left eye has been twitching off and on.. I seem to dehydrate rapid and cant hydrate fast enough - even when I cutt down on the dieretic med.

ve had some pain in my upper left and right chest area at different times and not lasting long. The pain is not bad and it doesn't last long and it is usually accompanied with belching or gas. I also have a history of asthma too. Any idea of what might be causing this pain since initial test seem to rule out cardiac problems. No one in my family has a history of cardiac problems either.

I had a stent placed at this site recently and almost immediately my anxiety, breathing problems, leg pain and weakness, and fatigue dissappeared. It's even possible that the digestive issues are even caused by this. Please let me know how it goes.
