Avatar f tn I could handle the fatigue and muscle aches but the chest pain and SOB did me in. Recently I was on Diltiazem for awhile. Was tired a bit, had headaches the first couple of weeks but overall it wasn't a bad med. I can't take beta blockers because of asthma. The Diltiazem was helpful in easing some of my tachy times and got rid of my chest pains.
Avatar f tn As to the fatigue... are you ONLY on flecaininde? I get very fatigues too, BUT I am also on diltiazem, coreg, and lisinopril. I can't separate them to know what goes with what.
Avatar f tn Runs around 147/93 pulse 104 while sitting. They had me taking metropolol 25mg BID on top of the Lisinopril, but had to discontinue due to abdominal cramping, diarrea and major depressive mood swing, confusion and just a general feeling of being in a fog. Has body become so used to the Lisinopril that it's just not working any more? They want me to keep heart rate lower, but it's just not working!
Avatar m tn I had a nuclear medicine perfusion test and it showd my LVEF to be 46% but my echocardiogram showd it to be 60%. A the test time I was on 240 mg diltiazem and 40 mg Lisinopril daily. I do have a history of bad hypertension. I do suffer from occasional PVC and PAC's. Any opinion? Thanks.
Avatar f tn I have had worsening rhythm problems over the last several years, dating all the way back to viral myocarditis in 1993 when I had a resting pulse of 180 for nearly 6 months. I had three ablations in the last couple years that were unable to fix it. They just kept adding more and more meds until I fell over pulseless. Now I'm on coreg, flecainide, diltiazem, and lisinopril. I never have had high blood pressures and all these sometimes about tip me right over.
Avatar n tn How long have you been on the Coreg? When I took Verapamil (a CCB), the side effects were so terrible that within 5 days I ended up in ER. They stopped the med. Now I take Diltiazem (also a CCB) and it's not nearly so bad. The first couple weeks I had some dizziness and whopper headaches. Now I'm left with a bit of brain fog and fatigue; I don't have the pep I had before but it does help the tachycardia and chest pain.
Avatar m tn I've had high BP since early 20s. Never ate salt, excercised to keep weight normal. In early 40s had to start taking medication. For the past 20 years I've taken about 15 different medications from doctor to doctor. Everybody knows the answer but my BP never is 120/80 except right after taking meds. 6 hours later it will be 170/102 an dhigher by the hour. Then when I go back to the dr, he/she says, "Hmmm it's high, we should keep an eye on that.
Avatar n tn I am currently on 30 mg of diltiazem 3x day and i was wondering how effective is this dose at bring down your blood pressure. and how much would it bring it down. a rough estimate would be great. for i am hoping to come off of this medicine.
Avatar m tn BP is relatively normal. I take indapmide for that (From my regular doctor). In fact when my cardilolgist put me on diltiazem, he took me off indapamide. That didn't last long. The diltiazem did nothing for my BP. It went back up (Only talking +/- 140/90), so let me add bavk the indapamide. So, that is not an issue. Just the MVP/ diltazem issue. The pulse can stay n the 60's for awhile. At most during the day, in the 80's. (Of course, that is only when the rythym is normal).
Avatar f tn I am thinking of a next procedure if possible to removed the other 20% from my heart and hopefully not have to take the flecainide, diltiazem, coreg, lisinopril... anymore. Taking all those WITHOUT any high blood pressure to start out with has been fairly devastating. Any thoughts, any history, any wisdom out there?? Thanks.
1622431 tn?1299070442 I have recently been diagnosed with pacs, and my doctor put me on diltiazem. Can any one tell me from experience how effective this treatment is?
Avatar m tn I have been taking 40 mg lisinopril for 3 months. It works on my BP but I am coughing and my nose is running.
Avatar f tn She switched me to 100mg ER Metoprolol to take in the morning and 20mg lisinopril for the night. I had to take my bp every day and went back every week. Every week it would be high at the dr Office and she would increase the lisinopril. Mind you, I didn't take prescription anything prior to this except maybe an antibiotic when needed. Now I'm on these high doses of bp meds. Initially I thought well I'll get used to them, there's always an adjustment time.
Avatar f tn Two weeks ago my Cardio doctor changed my medication from Cardizem LA to Diltiazem CD. I know it's the generic brand of Cardizem. Anyway he raised my dosage from 240 mg. to 300 mg. For a whole week I had some terrible side effects. I blacked out once while sitting at my computer and then I came close to blacking out on a daily basis. I also felt off balance. I ended up going to my primary doctor, not for this, but for something else. I guess it was a follow up appointment.

Avatar m tn The blood pressure differences one arm from the other by as much as 10 is normal. I can't remember if you should be reading from the lower or the higher of the two, maybe someone else can chime in(?). My intereswt in your post is the idea of cost differential between a 50mg pill and the splitting of a 100mg pill. I'm getting 5mg pills of Lisinopril but I split the pills in half for 2.5mg's. It was my impression that there was no such thing as 2.
Avatar n tn First time, adenosine failed twice to bring down 180+ pulse. Diltiazem given, and worked. Sent home with extended-release 120mg diltiazem. Experienced breakthrough arrhythmias and eventual return to tachycardia 170bpm that lasted 8 hours before heading to the ER again. Given fast-acting diltiazem 60mg, which seems to be working so far, although I'm still experiencing arrhythmias. Cardiologist preliminarily diagnosed AVNRT and recommended ablation asap.
Avatar f tn Looking for good new...found out I am pregnant and am taking Lisinopril 10mg. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with sick sinus syndrome. I was on diltiazem xt 120mg. I stopped taking the medicine 12 days ago could it still be in my system and be causing slow heart rate 40-45 during th day.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm a 33 year old male, not overweight, not diabetic, I've been dealing with tachycardia for some time now. It comes and goes. I found that 50mg of Metoprolol twice a day would mostly control it, but as a 33 year old man, I began to notice major erection issues since being on it. Talked to my doctor, they want me to start 120mg a day of Diltiazem. I'm a little nervous about it, but they assured me it's no more potent a medication.
996946 tn?1503249112 s on Vetmedin, 5mg...Enalapril, 10mg...furosemide (lasix) 40 mg, and Diltiazem 40mg. His coughing has not improved. I'm wondering if he really needs the Vetmedin or the Diltiazem? I know his HR seems normal now but because of having heartworms a few yrs ago, he has the residual side effect of CHF. I just hate giving him so many meds and he's not getting better! Any quick suggestions?
Avatar f tn If one never had swollen gums after taking Diltiazem Hydrochloride Extended-release Capsules USP for years and then suddenly has swollen gums (no redness or infection) could the Diltiazem suddenly cause this after getting a "deep cleaning" of the teeth, or 'probing for pocket depths' at a dentist?
Avatar n tn 20 mg in 7 am , and 20 mg Lisinopril in 7 pm (so total = 40 mg Lisinopril per day). During the day (systolic) hypertension goes 150-160 mmHg and only in 2-4pm it is 130 mmHg (and at 10-12 pm). What should be done for this patient. Maybe trying a diuretic (hydrochlorthiazid) and lowering the dose of Lisinopril? Please tell what do you think of the doses to start trying, how often and when during the day? (P.S.
Avatar m tn I take Metoprolol for a thick heart muscel & pvc, which it doesn't help much with the pvc's, Diltiazem was just added 120mg once a day. My doctor seemed somewhat reluctant to add the Diltiazem but said lets try it. My Blood pressure has been around 155/95. His reluctance just seems to scare me. Should I try it or should I not? If I do start taking it should I take it with the metoprolol or at different times?
