] My eyesight not good - Nystagmus (horizontal, vertical), mild ataxia, raised MCV levels , macrocytic anaemia. Consolation - I've realised we don't flea's so no more OCD on flea spray :-) it's the neuropathy thats causing the needle bite sensation along with the spreading numness / pins and needles. My folate levels are on the up thanks to folic replacement 5mg so the trigger headaches are no longer there = migraines subsided at last.
As a child I had epilepsy and had to take Dilantin; fortunately, I outgrew it but I know how it puts you in a fog. Any thoughts are welcome.
Hello. There are quite a few studies conducted on this. Some areas of the limbic system (e.g. Amygdala) are said to link OCD with seizures. But it is difficult to say which came first! Lamotrigine is an adjunct to SSRI drugs for treating OCD. It will actually help to reduce your OCD symptoms. But this has to be discussed by you and your psychiatrist, if you are consulting one.
Hello. I am a 27 year old female who has suffered severe Trichotillomania and OCD for over 10 years. All medications and forms of therapy have been exhausted. I am now working to get placed on a list to have a Cingulotomy... My question is-- How successful is the surgery in treating OCD? and more importantly, what can a person expect immediately after the operation.... (w/ gamma knives)... My psychiatrist seems to think it is a REAL option at this time...

d. He took this for two weeks for OCD, but I noticed that he had a lot of bruises appear - legs, arms, stomach. The psychiatrist said to stop the Luvox as it may be related to the bruising. He was on no other med, no AED as his neuro had stopped his AED in August to see if seizures returned since he hadn't had any since about April. The first day he had no Luvox he had a complex partial seizure. The following day he had 10 seizures and ended up in the ER to be given IV Dilantin.
my son recently started taking Paxil for OCD. Soon after starting he has experienced two extreme bouts of paranoia. This is something totally out of his character for 24 yrs that I have known him. He became extremely agitated and did not make sense in what he discussed with me. I would like to know if this medication can trigger paranoia such as this. He is also taking Dilantin for seizures and has taken this for 4 yrs. .He started the paxil approximately 3-4 weeks ago.
I have temporal lobe epilepsy (complex-partial and 2ndary generalized). I have been dx'd with ADHD and Bipolar II. I suspect that (in me) all three are one in the same. They are all related to a problem with neurotransmitters (dopamine in particular). They all (for me) create a deficit in the executive functioning part of my thinking process. My "working memory." It's hard to tell what does what.
He has only had a few low numbers, that I know of, the lowest I believe was in the 40's, and only once had any signs. He is somewhat OCD, is mildy mentally challanged and if he is obsessing about something would probably not recognize the signs if he had them. Also, he typically runs high in the mid 200's. Two nights ago, he was at a concert and had a very active day and a very bad diet. Hardly any food at all (Yes, we have discussed this at length now).

twirling my hair, biting my fingernails, cracking my knuckles, obsessing over cleanliness and order and some other weird ones like tilting my head backward to comb the hair between my neck and top of my head without using my hands(hard to explain). I "attempted" suicide a few years back because of intense guilt and stress. Christ man, I could go on and on and on and on.
Weight Loss ≤ 18 pounds since 12/1/09 (history of anorexia (w/exercise bulimia)/OCD) 2. Diagnosed with PCOS years ago 3. ≈ 15 “episodes” of visual disturbance each lasting anywhere from 30 seconds - 2 minutes with no *real* headache before or afterwards (by visual disturbance I mean: colors flickering, moving across my vision, followed by blurred-tunnel vision/inability to focus) and then it resolves on its own 4. Possible triggers?
400mg of dilantin per day, 0.5mg Klonopin three times per day and 200mg of Topomax per day to try and get this under control. This, after trying Neurontin, Tegratol and a couple of others that my body reacted badly to. I have never actually 'seized' in the sense of either blacking out or having a grand mal seizure. Does this sound like epilepsy and if so, does it have a name?

Sometimes Panick disorder resembles social Phobia, this is when you feel watched in public, dislike eating in public or using public toilets etc,the social phobia seems to develop secondary to the inital onset of Panick disorder. Hypochondria? and OCD?,in your case(fear of eating, because may be poisoned)although this is usually a withdrawal/rebound symptom of Xanax withdrawals,a type of delusional paranoia. So in this resect I highly suspect you are getting withdrawals from the xanax.

I started taking topamax about 6 wks ago and am up to 300 mg. Have lost 8lbs. I am on it for seizures. I was on Dilantin for 25 yrs and my dr. wanted to switch meds and I read topamax can cause weight loss and I had put on 15 lbs to I talked him into letting me go on it but I am having my doubts now. I am feeling really psychotic!! I feel sometimes like I am on extacy or some other mind altering drug...I have total feelings of electric currents running thru my body ...
Possible side effects don't scare me any more. weight gain does lol slight BDD going on also along with OCD and all the other initials out there. Talk to your Dr. but try anything once If it doesn't help you you can stop!
