Digoxin toxicity ecg

Common Questions and Answers about Digoxin toxicity ecg

Avatar f tn I have been through Digitalis and Digoxin toxicity. The classic sign of toxicity is seeing 'cracked walls'. I too had the upset stomach and vomiting, but it did not take very long for that to happen to me; I never lasted anywhere near 5 weeks. I would question if something else is going on with that. The other symptoms you describe can also happen as a result of the lower HR and BP.
Avatar n tn Nonspecific ST-T wave abnormalities, is frequently used when the clinical data are not available to correlate with the ECG findings. This does not mean that the ECG changes are unimportant! It is the responsibility of the clinician providing care for the patient to ascertain the importance of the ECG findings. It is not an uncommon EKG tracing, often meaningless and requires supporting evidence for any dx. There are heart drugs e.g.
Avatar f tn one ecg it says it was abnormal here what it says sinus rhythm.
Avatar f tn I am curious as to why your cardiologist would have you on digoxin. It is used today mostly for atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter. It has been surpassed by beta blockers and/or calcium channel blockers as a first line choice. Did you perhaps experience syncope before your ablation? High ventricular rate leads to insufficient diastolic filling time. Digoxin slows down the conduction in the AV node and increases its refractory period, and it can reduce the ventricular rate.
Avatar m tn There appears to be some heart cells that may have been damaged by a prior heart attack. Left atrium is the upper chamber above the left ventricle...it is enlarged. Ischemia indicates a lack of adequate blood flow usually due to occluded vessels. Do you have symptoms of chest pains or shortness of breat. etc? T-wave abnormalities by their own, without the detection of chest pain or similar such symptoms, are neither conclusively proven of any harm, nor a sign of problem in future.
Avatar m tn they sent me for lab work and told me everything came back negative. They did an ECG while I was there also and said that was fine. I later found out through a family member that it would be wise to get a second opinion (not a reputable doctor!) I ordered my records from this clinic and found that one of my labs for lyme disease was positive and my ecg results say ABNORMAL on them too!
390388 tn?1279636213 He went so far as to call my cardiologist which I am scheduled to see today anyway and now I have to have the blood test to check for toxicity levels of Digoxin. Not a big deal in the end but it makes one wonder sometimes.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone has ended up with abnormal ECG after their CarboPlatin/Taxol first line chemo? I just had an annual physical and they did an ECG and it was abnormal - indicated previous infact. I am only 34 and definitely haven't had a heartattack (unless it was painless!!) and I was wondering if this may be due to damage done during chemo.
Avatar f tn The benadryl might, as it can, be causing you worse tachycardia? Diagnosed by tilt table with P.O.T.S. in 2004, I suspect I have that form of P.O.T.S. (hyperadrenergic) due to various abnormal catecholamine type numbers in a number of lab tests. Medicines that were tried and discontinued for either side effects or not helping- lopressor, florinef, midodrine, and verapamil. Currently, I am not being treated by any physician for my P.O.T.S..
Avatar n tn My BP goes up temporarily. All tests- ECG, Ultra sound scan of gall bladder etc, liver function test, stomach endoscopy etc have shown there is no abnormality. Is there a link between dizziness and flattulance?
Avatar n tn I took Digoxin for a number of years in reponse to an atrial fibrillation event. My new physician did not feel I needed to be on it any longer. What are the side effects of discontinuing this medication? I have been off it for several months and some odd changes in my body.
Avatar n tn s explanation where he states digoxin is used to treat irregular heartbeats. I was on digoxin for a few months following my congested heart failue event. It is my understanding the medication is used to increase contractility of the pumping chambers. My medication for stablizing heart rate is a beta blocker (coreg) and an ACE inhibitor. My research: "Digoxin is contraindicated in patients with ventricular fibrillation.
Avatar n tn He does have some water retention in lower legs. At a recent appointment we were told that the ECG showed his irregular heart rhythm is now more controlled with the medication. Below I've listed 4 questions. Thanks in advance for the advice. I'm really look for another opinion as the patient is not really able to function as fully as he used to, but the doctors seem to be quite complacent about it.
Avatar n tn I have seen green halos before due to digoxin toxicity....You don't happen to be on that drug are you? I remember it was awful....Regardless, if you keep seeing green, please see someone about it.
Avatar f tn However, in general calcium channel blockers and beta-blockers are preferred to digoxin. Digoxin has been around for a long time! I used Digoxin over 50 years ago for my PSVT, and my recollection was that it did little to prevent episodes. There are so many newer drugs now that are far more effective. My basic understanding of Digoxin is that it works on the heart's electrical system and decreases the heart rate, but increases each stroke volume.
Avatar f tn A couple of months ago, I ended up in ER with acute symptoms relating to overmediation with synthroid. I was on 175 mcg. I was having severe tremors, palpitations, blood pressure and pulse rate were sky high, and of course then the anxiety kicked in. Luckily I had some low dose Ativan - took 2 tablets and got to the hospital. My ECG was normal, but showed some PVC's (from the anxiety I was told). My TSH was 0.1 mU/L (Normal 0.3-5.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have been having a fluttery feeling in my chest for about six months, this is accompanied by missing heart beats. I have had the 48 hour ecg/horter and have been told that I have venticular bigeminy. I have always had a very slow heart beat but since this problem it is 40 at rest , 30 when asleep and only goes up to 85 on my daily fast two mile walk. The doctor has put me on a very low dose of beta blocker as I have had asthma in the past.
Avatar f tn I received a letter in the mail from the pharmaceutical company stating they accidentally put a double dose of the medication digoxin I was taking since my surgery because of an irregular heartbeat. I feel that this is the reason I now need these valves replaced but all the doctors feel differently. I would like to know if anyone has had 3 valves replaced at one time? I had rheumatic fever when I was young and that's why I needed the valves replaced the first time.
Avatar f tn i hev a question concerning digoxin....wat is its effect in the body. I mean its pharmacokinetic effects. i am having a hard time searching the net for it...
