That's great to hear. I was curious what they chose Digoxin. That is a very, very old drug. I took it in 1957 when I had my first episode of SVT. For me, it did little to stop them. There are so many newer, frontline drugs for the treatment of SVT that don't have the unwanted side effects that digitalis based drugs include. It would be interesting to hear their reasoning for using it. There is something that you should ask you physician. Digoxin has a very long half life.

However I was unable to cope with the number of these, and have been taking a small dose of atenolol daily since (12.5mg, one tablet cut in half). I'm now 6 weeks pregnant, and tried to stop taking them but couldn't. When I did, I was horribly anxious and couldn't cope. I also experienced sleeplessness, tachycardia and the sensation of feeling my hearbeat all the time. I was in constant tears and couldn't work or do anything at all.

I am wondering if you are uneasy about taking digoxin. If so, I would ask you cardio if you can get by with just the TOPROL XL. Digoxin, xanax, toprol xl, and lisinoprol seems like a lot of stuff to be taking. I am a runner and only take TOPROL XL 12.5mg. This knocks out my extra beats and really slows my heart down. A little seems to go a long way for me.

I am taking Digoxin for tachycardia--my cardiologist says that while there aren't good studies available for cardiac meds while pregnant Digoxin is believed to be safe. It is not a betablocker, however the dr felt the digoxin would be safer than a betablocker while preggo. Also the changes in your blood volume while pregnant may correct the tachycardia.

s when I got diagnosed with svt. They gave me a double dose of digoxin while I was in the hospital. It took me 3 years to finally figure out that my severe heat intolerance was being caused by my digoxin. I do have a appointment with my cardio on dec. 10 so I am going to try to talk to him about something else to take. I still have attacks just not as frequent or as severe.

Does anyone know or have experience with taking Digoxin or Metoprolol and did it cause you to have a choking feeling? I have been on both for about 5 weeks now and have had this choking sensation for about that long. I have been sent for an ultrasound of my neck and they found nothing. My Internest acted like it was in my head and told me to take Tylenol. Maybe she thought I was trying to get pain meds out of her. That just didn't make sense. I am not in pain.

Beacuse I also have heart problems, the neurologist and cardiologist got together and prescribed DIGOXIN. Altho I have not see anything on the INET about the use of digoxin in auto neuropathy, I don't know why not. It made a tremendous difference in my pulse, bp, and even in decreasing stomache nausea and constipation (stomache is also controlled by vagal nerve). I felt almost normal. Digoxin is the only drug I know of on the market which strengthens the vagal nerve.

So I had a pretty crappy cold about a week and a half ago, now being on digoxin I can't take cold meds so I stick it out. Well the cold is now over and my teeth are hurting. I see no signs of abscess' and my mom thinks it might be a sinus infection. No from what I've read online they usually give amoxcillin to treat it. Help! I need to know if it is safe to stop taking my Dig. My dr. recently lowered it but I think I need off. My bp has went from 120/90 to 80/57 an.d that isn't even when I am asleep. The benadryl might, as it can, be causing you worse tachycardia? Diagnosed by tilt table with P.O.T.S. in 2004, I suspect I have that form of P.O.T.S. (hyperadrenergic) due to various abnormal catecholamine type numbers in a number of lab tests. Medicines that were tried and discontinued for either side effects or not helping- lopressor, florinef, midodrine, and verapamil. Currently, I am not being treated by any physician for my P.O.T.S..
