digoxin recall 2009

I know there was a recent recall of Digoxin in the U.S. Check with your doctor about any changes in medications. Is there any chance the pain is because of the ICD? I've heard some people say they have some discomfort from the leads/placement of the device, etc. Does your doctor think it's OK for you to take over the counter pain medication? If so, what does he suggest?

I was talking to my husband just the other day about her. We were speaking about the old digoxin recall (back in April) that was posted and I was wondering how she was doing. I'm so glad to hear the good news. Now hopefully the pac's will ease up too. :-) Take care.

I'm 76 years old was diagnosed with CHF in February of 2009. I am being treated by a good cardiologist. My ejection rate is 34% and I hope increasing all the time. It was 20% in February at my initial diagnosis. I'm taking carvedilol, lisinopril, digoxin, medication for my cholesterol and diabetes 2 and also aspirin and cod liver oil . I would like to continue with my exercise program and don't know if it's allowed. It's not hard, just walking.

However, in general calcium channel blockers and beta-blockers are preferred to digoxin. Digoxin has been around for a long time! I used Digoxin over 50 years ago for my PSVT, and my recollection was that it did little to prevent episodes. There are so many newer drugs now that are far more effective. The block could have happened earlier but did not give any symptoms. By october 2009, I had a nother major cardiac event. This time, the left main artery has blocked and I had a total cardiac arrest. This time I was revived by CPR in the hospital emergency room and was put on a breathing machine and a stent was placed in the left main artery. I am now back home and going through cardiac rehab.
