My elderly mom has been having some pretty severe episodes of anxiety/confusion over the past couple of weeks. We've initiated contact with her doctors who are doing their thing, but of course nothing moves as fast as we'd like in situations like this.
Her life is pretty much consistent every single day, same habits, same foods, same tv shows, etc. These episodes have been happening every *second* day, in mid afternoon.
I'm pregnant and the baby has svt.. So I'm taking it for baby lol it seems to be working for him so far! They did an echo today.
0 and your values are definitely high and are suggestive of hypothyroidism (means decreased functioning of the thyroid gland) and you will definitely need thyroid replacement therapy in the form of tablets. However, you need to be careful with the dose of the tablets as you need to start at a lower dose and escalate the dose gradually or otherwise it may worsen your congestive heart failure you are suffering from.

I'm not a doctor and I can't say for sure, but it seems unlikely that a low dose Xanax would interfere with the Dig. If you really don't want to check with the doctor, try calling your pharmacist. He/she should be able to let you know for sure.
I received a letter in the mail from the pharmaceutical company stating they accidentally put a double dose of the medication digoxin I was taking since my surgery because of an irregular heartbeat. I feel that this is the reason I now need these valves replaced but all the doctors feel differently. I would like to know if anyone has had 3 valves replaced at one time? I had rheumatic fever when I was young and that's why I needed the valves replaced the first time.
Q1) A few months ago I took him to a specialist who took him off some other medications previously prescribed by our GP (local doctor). The specialist put him on Digoxin. He said it was better for his condition. However the patient recently had another appointment where his blood pressure was high and so another specialist has now added Doxazosin. (You don't always get to see the same specialist at appointments). The patient is also on Furosemide, Warfarin, Simvastatin and Ramipril.
I have undergone an unsuccessful cardioversion and for the past 2 years I have been prescribed atenolol, flecainide and now digoxin to help control my af. None of these drugs seem to have an effect on my af.
Can you please advise me if there ios a cure for af?

mom was diagnised with Atrial Fibrillation and was admitted to the hospital for seven days. She is otherwise very healthy and was only on Hyzaar for blood pressure prior.
She was told her heart was strong and showed minimal damage, chest Xray proved negative, stress test was passed with exceptional results, but was kept hospitalized until her heart rate stopped spiking. She is now on 5.0 mill.

It is my understanding the medication is used to increase contractility of the pumping chambers. My medication for stablizing heart rate is a beta blocker (coreg) and an ACE inhibitor.

Eventually they said it was not settlign down and they said it could either stay or wait for it too settle. (Since I had been there like 3 hours and it was approachign 10PM, I decided to leave).
Since then I have felt awful, mostly the chest not feeling right. I spoke to my family doctor (a few days later) and he said I was just suffering form stress. (Meanwhile I'm way out of breath, my chest does not feel right, and I'm feelign miserable).
However, in general calcium channel blockers and beta-blockers are preferred to digoxin. Digoxin has been around for a long time! I used Digoxin over 50 years ago for my PSVT, and my recollection was that it did little to prevent episodes. There are so many newer drugs now that are far more effective. My basic understanding of Digoxin is that it works on the heart's electrical system and decreases the heart rate, but increases each stroke volume.

The doctor has rightly prescribed you lisinopril which plays an important role in cardiomyopathy in improving the functioning of the heart. I’ll also suggest the use digoxin for you which tend to improve the ejection fraction of heart and also improve the symptoms of congestive heart failure and it’s especially used for patients who have low blood pressure.
Apart from that, I’ll suggest a low intake of salt and water.

I am surprised they had you taking Digoxin and Amiodarone together??? I don't care for either drug, myself. I took Amiodarone for 9 months for SVTs. I stopped the drug because of the nasty side effects. The skipped beats were gone by then and haven't returned since.
