digoxin and heparin

My husband and I would like to start trying for a baby but i'm on Betablockers for a tachycardia that no-one can find a reason for! i'm only on 1.25mg of bisoprolol, and would like to know what risks there are. I'm currently on a waiting list to see cardiology and find out what their opinion is but would like a bit of advice.

Went to see my Ob who checked my cervix and discharge and said it was due to the heparin jabs I was taking. he explained due to its anti coagulant properties some women do experience spotting but as long as its not fresh blood it is considered ok to continue with the heparin injections. I am to stop if its fresh blood and go in to see him. Had a scan and baby was fine (thank God).

Is it normal to give heparin to a patient who has had TIA's and high blood pressure?

ve been having difficulty taking deep breaths. It was a contrast CT and they used my port access to give me the contrast. After they were finished, they didn't flush the port, but just administered the heparin. After my IVIg treatments, they saline flush my port with two syringes before they do the heparin. I'm nervous about asking nurses to do something, as have had bad experiences with nurses needing to be right.

My wife is 7.5 months pregnant and currently taking heparin and baby aspirin for maternal antipaternal antibodies. She will be stopping the heparin at 36 weeks. What are the risks to the baby after the heparin is stopped and should she be induced after stopping the heparin?

Okay so I am 37+4 and I have been on Heparin for a little over a week now and was on lovenox since I found out I was pregnant due to a DVT I had back in June of 2012 after gallbladder surgery. My question is can I request to be induced? Its been stressful and I'm worried about going into labor naturally and not being able to have an epidural or having complications due to having to be on this medication. Does anyone think I would be able to be induced because of this risk factor?

So I had a pretty crappy cold about a week and a half ago, now being on digoxin I can't take cold meds so I stick it out. Well the cold is now over and my teeth are hurting. I see no signs of abscess' and my mom thinks it might be a sinus infection. No from what I've read online they usually give amoxcillin to treat it. My question is has anyone else on digoxin taken amoxcillin? Is it safe. Being on dig I know there's a lot of stuff we can and can not take.

The Heart Rhythm Society did a few randomized trials to assess the efficacy of calcium channel blockers, beta-blockers and digoxin in SVT. A comparison of verapamil, propranolol and digoxin showed equivalent efficacy in a small group of patients. However, in general calcium channel blockers and beta-blockers are preferred to digoxin. Digoxin has been around for a long time! I used Digoxin over 50 years ago for my PSVT, and my recollection was that it did little to prevent episodes.

I have some Afib and some PAC's, my doc said Digoxin and Toprol do the same thing, I chose the Digoxin. Does anyone take the Digoxin for these conditions and it works? Which do you think is better?

s contractions are weaker than normal, and digoxin helps provide a stronger beating heart. If one has increased functionality of the heart, the drug may be dropped, also, there can be a tolerance that develops with digoxin that may require discontinuation for a period of time.

s my completely unprofessional opinion on what I know about digoxin, and I took it for a number of years as a kid for SVT. It's an old drug that's been used literally for centuries. I took it back in 1957. It's inherently toxic and if that fact was not enough to curtail its use, there's evidence that suggests the drug, even at dosages normally considered safe, can cause visual problems, serious skin rashes, and may significantly aggravate asthma.

For me, I had a wonderful delivery after my epidural (before the epidural was hellish...), it was calm and I was relaxed and could focus on the details of the moment.

I know if i was on digoxin i would look at the packaging the pharmacy gave me and go directly to the horses mouth so to speak and go onto the manufactuerers site and see what they have to say about long term effects, etc. They should tell you what the clinical studies showed, side effects and all of the pertinent information....good luck to you....

Then I found on the internet how toxic Digoxin could be with the other medicines I was taking, and that no one should be kept on it for very long. Since the second cardiologist removed Digoxin from my prescriptions, and I was healing and getting better, I think I must have been under a toxic level of Digoxin causing blood in my urine and poisoning affects of awake,eyesight,cuts,etc..

So they put me on heparin and baby aspirin and I conceived and gave birth to a healthy little girl in April. I will do heparin and baby aspirin again when starting to try for #2!!!

My mother had gone through a sleeve gastrectomy operation 3 weeks ago. On the 22nd post-operative day, due to severe pain in the epigastric zone, her doctor ordered an abdominal CT. It turns out that portal vein and superior mesenteric vein are thrombosed. They put her on enoxaparin and wanted her to rest for 5 days until the next control. She refused to be put on heparin or warfarin because of her history of gastrointestinal bleeding and recent surgery.

im not taking heparin but i have seen a lot of stories on the forum of women who have blood clotting disorders that took heparin and baby aspirins and had a healthy pregnancy. Try not to worry or stress out, it is perfectly safe.
