My husband and I would like to start trying for a baby but i'm on Betablockers for a tachycardia that no-one can find a reason for! i'm only on 1.25mg of bisoprolol, and would like to know what risks there are. I'm currently on a waiting list to see cardiology and find out what their opinion is but would like a bit of advice.
I took Digoxin for a number of years in reponse to an atrial fibrillation event. My new physician did not feel I needed to be on it any longer. What are the side effects of discontinuing this medication? I have been off it for several months and some odd changes in my body.
The Heart Rhythm Society did a few randomized trials to assess the efficacy of calcium channel blockers, beta-blockers and digoxin in SVT. A comparison of verapamil, propranolol and digoxin showed equivalent efficacy in a small group of patients. However, in general calcium channel blockers and beta-blockers are preferred to digoxin. Digoxin has been around for a long time! I used Digoxin over 50 years ago for my PSVT, and my recollection was that it did little to prevent episodes.
I have some Afib and some PAC's, my doc said Digoxin and Toprol do the same thing, I chose the Digoxin.
Does anyone take the Digoxin for these conditions and it works? Which do you think is better?
s the causes of depression? Does it relate to the neurotransmitter? Diazepam is an anti-depressant? It enhances the effect of GABA by binding to the benzodiazepine site on the GABA A-receptor. After binding to the receptor, may i know what's the next mechanism? GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter? If GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter, how does diazepam can cause anti-depress? I heard that it can treat seizure?
s my completely unprofessional opinion on what I know about digoxin, and I took it for a number of years as a kid for SVT. It's an old drug that's been used literally for centuries. I took it back in 1957. It's inherently toxic and if that fact was not enough to curtail its use, there's evidence that suggests the drug, even at dosages normally considered safe, can cause visual problems, serious skin rashes, and may significantly aggravate asthma.
I know if i was on digoxin i would look at the packaging the pharmacy gave me and go directly to the horses mouth so to speak and go onto the manufactuerers site and see what they have to say about long term effects, etc. They should tell you what the clinical studies showed, side effects and all of the pertinent information....good luck to you....
Then I found on the internet how toxic Digoxin could be with the other medicines I was taking, and that no one
should be kept on it for very long. Since the second cardiologist removed Digoxin from my prescriptions, and I was healing and getting better, I think
I must have been under a toxic level of Digoxin causing blood in my urine and poisoning affects of awake,eyesight,cuts,etc..
High ventricular rate leads to insufficient diastolic filling time. Digoxin slows down the conduction in the AV node and increases its refractory period, and it can reduce the ventricular rate. The arrhythmia itself is not affected, but the pumping function of the heart improves by improved filling.
The use of digoxin in heart problems during sinus rhythm was once standard.
In addition I am tapering off diazepam and down to 2mg in the morning and 1 at night. Everytime I try to get off the concerta I get terrible anxiety from it. I have it to a degree while on it also. I want off but my dr who takes 3 weeks to get into anyway, won’t switch me to a med I can taper off of. I know 3 weeks is a short time compared to what most of you have been through. But can someone please tell me how long my withdrawals are going to last??
It reduces cognitive function long term,libido,you would not be able to drive some people will lie to thier friends and family AND thier Doctor over thier Diazepam taking habits (as in how much they eventually take as one dose).

Hi all, I was commenced on xanax 12 mths ago for panic attacks. My GP (and to be honest me) felt we needed to keep increasing the dose. Within 3 mths I was on 6mg per day (in 3 divided doses). It almost cost me my marriage, job, home and friends. I found a new GP, whom recognised what was happening (i.e. I was addicted to xanax and loving it but a voice in the back of my head told me things were not right - hence finding another GP).
It is not - these things are very hard to regulate. Secondly, (and please someone prove me wrong as i hope that I am) I have never heard of diazepam coming in capsule form - all that I have ever seen or heard of is in a tablet of some sort.
Why did you not just get this from a doctor? Sure doctors are a little expensive to see if you have no money; however, the prescription itself is not that expensive at all.
Is Valium only used for a short period or for long term treatment for panic attacks and anxiety?
