12182312 tn?1427683956 Hi guys. I'm suffering so bad here. I have a horrible yeast infection. I went to my doctor and she prescribed diflucan and also clomitozole?? (Sp)...I am so itchy and sore I want to cry. Should I try monistat 7. Or wait out the diflucan?. What works for you?
Avatar n tn So I've had a yeast infection since I found out I was pregnant. My doctor finally gave me a prescription to get diflucan. But my insurance want pay for it because they he said it is a risk for the baby. Has this happened to anyone else? Or have you taken diflucan and everything turned out fine? Not to mention she only prescribe me 2 pills one every 24 hours and that's it.
Avatar f tn I have never had a yeast infection and I'm 49 years old. I'm extremely dry in the area but I've research the topic and I can't find where dryness and yeast infection go together. I'm assuming it does I've taken the pill today and I hope within 24 hours it will be somewhat better. Help !!?
Avatar f tn Everytime we have sex I get irritable and land up with an yeast infection. I have this unbareable itch. It has ruined my sex life. I really will like to get to the bottom of this issue in my life so I can have a sex life with my husband. Please help me. So far all the gyn doctors I've went to are not helping me.
Avatar f tn I dont know if anyone can help me or give me some suggestions, but back in December I had a yeast infection and the doctor prescribed me terconazole vaginal cream...before she had always given me the diflucan pill and it went away right away. however, this time she gave me the cream and i used it for the 7days like she said and didnt have sex w my bf at all. after the 7th day of using the terconazole cream my bf and i had sex w a condom.
Avatar f tn m currently treating a vaginal yeast infection and was wondering what your experiences were with Diflucan? How long does a typical yeast infection last? The itching and burning have subsided, and I took my first diflucan pill Sunday (doc gave me 4). I'm also using Vagisil for itching and irritated skin! Thanks!
Avatar f tn Yeah, diflucan (the one time pill) is awesome. Definitely don't take antibiotics for a yeast infection--you'll make it worse. If it hasn't been swabbed and checked for yeast, it's possible you could have something like bacterial vaginosis, which would require antibiotics. It could also be just the delay between treatment and relief. Even if you take the one pill, you will still itch for a few days.
Avatar n tn there are stronger medications your doctor can give you for a yeast infection like diflucan. it's just one pill. ask for that instead of buying over the counter stuff.
Avatar f tn For OTC meds do Monistat 7 ( the 7 day cream ) and do it right before bed at night ... If you go to your doc they will proscribe you one pill that stays in your system for 7 days but does nothing for the itching at all..
Avatar f tn For about the past day I have been having severe itching and irritation down there and was wondering if that's a sign of a yeast infection. Discharge and everything is normal. It is just really bothering me.
Avatar f tn Antibiotics will not get rid of a yeast infection. They can cause a yeast infection actually. Your doctor can prescribe Diflucan (not sure if I spelled that right) but it's a pill you take one time and your your yeast infection will be gone in 2 days.
Avatar m tn Yeah, the Fluconazole I'm taking is just a generic brand of Diflucan. So taking a single dose of Diflucan usually gets rid of your yeast infection? Lucky, haha. I'm on day 11 right now of taking Diflucan and I can't say its doing anything. I've heard that taking probiotics while taking antibiotics is also good for avoiding yeast infections, especially Acidopholous (which is the bacteria found in yogurt naturally).
Avatar f tn i have never had a yeast infection but I think I may have one now. Have any of you had one and if so what do you do to treat it?
Avatar n tn This is an amazing pill. I get yeast infections often and this always helps.
Avatar f tn d go back to the doctor or go to a different one and tell them you want to be tested to make sure it is indeed a yeast infection. I made the mistake 2 weeks ago of thinking i had a yeast infection only to find out it was a bad UTI.
Avatar n tn Well I can say from my experience I can't use Premarin because it causes yeast infections for me. I think you can take the pill Diflucan do get rid of the yeast infection but don't be surprised that it is persistent and wont go away. I would call the pharmacy to make sure as I am not a doctor but I know I would use both but I also would ask.
Avatar f tn thanks! I will and next time ask for the Diflucan when I am prescribed antibiotics.
Avatar n tn Has anyone had a yeast infection before? I'm 35 weeks and I'm dealing with a yeast infection right now. I'm treating it with a cream that my doctor prescribed me, but I've been getting a pink discharge after I wipe myself, well everytime I put on the cream. Can it be the cream that's causing the pink discharge? Im so lost this is my first pregnancy and this is the first time that I've gotten a yeast infection.
Avatar f tn What I do for yeast after having it diagnosed so knowing the signs is to either call the doctor and get a pill called diflucan which works fantastic. One pill an the yeast is gone. OR, I use ONE day monostat over the counter which has the highest concentration of medicine in it. It takes about two days to work as all over the counter yeast medications do not work immediately (diflucan does).
Avatar f tn It sounds like an external yeast infection did you rub the yeast infection cream on those areas? It could be that you need another round of the Diflucan sometimes it is so bad that one pill is not enough. What kind of soap do you use some soaps are too strong and cause yeast infections. Zest will I know and shower gels as well like the kind from bath and body works. Scrunchies can transmit yeast infections if you unknowingly used one during a yeast infection.
Avatar n tn So this is my first yeast infection-sexually active with my fiance. i first started it right before my period, and it continued afterwards so i went to my dr and got a perscription for diflucan, one pill treatment. it's been about 3 days and i'm still producing the white discharge and am very slightly itchy still but otherwise feel fine. how long does it take for the diflucan to work usually and is there anything else i can do to speed it along?
Avatar f tn was found during my annual) and my dr (who is new and i do not normally see) prescribed me diflucan for 12 weeks, one pill, once a week. I have never heard of this or treated a yeast infection with diflucan like this before and am starting to think this doctor I saw was a quack/slave to drug company kind of doctor. Has anyone ever been prescribed diflucan this way?
Avatar m tn Yesterday I was diagnosed with a yeast infection and the doctor gave me a Diflucan (sp?) pill which I took around 4pm. Today, I noticed the one scratch/cut I had was gone but the area around it seemed dry and flaky. Also, I've noticed a slight increase in discharge nothing extreme but definitely not my normal amount of discharge. I was just wondering if this was normal? Thank you.
Avatar f tn So a few days ago I noticed that my vagina was sore and that there was some white (non-smelly) on my underwear. A day later I started to itch all over down there. So I took a Diflucan pill and waited. Well the next day I still had the same symptoms. But now, the left side of my clitoris is super sore and sensitive! I didn't even scratch that area..So i took a mirror and looked at my vagina. It seems like the yeast is only coming out of my urethra..I don't see any at all in my vagina.
Avatar f tn This is the only thing you can use during pregnancy to get rid of a yeast infection, and unfortunately, its not a pill you take orally. They are inserts that you use vaginally.
Avatar m tn Is it Diflucan? I got a yeast infection every pregnancy, and I've taken the oral meds. Mine was a small pill and you can even take a follow-up dose if needed. I never had any problems and if your Dr. said it's okay, than I would go ahead and take it. Yeast infections are miserable and the sooner you clear it, the better.
Avatar f tn The monistat may not be strong enough for you. You may have to go to a Gyn and get diflucan and kill the yeast infection. It stays in your system for seven days and you'll be sure to get rid of the yeast. Symptoms usually go away within the 24 hrs after taking the antibiotic pill. Its a 1 dose.
