diflucan when pregnant

I'm 16 weeks and I'm suffering from a horrible yeast infection. I took 7 days of terazol and 3 days of monistat. Neither helped. Creams usually don't on me. Diflucan is the only thing that works but my dr. said he doesn't prescribe it during pregnancy. I'm so sick of it. I'm miserable. Has anyone ever taken diflucan when they were pregnant? What are the side effects to the baby?

Yea, unfortunately you are not supposed to take Diflucan while pregnant, so, I guess I will have to see what the doc has to say. The creams dont normally work for me either, and in previous occurences, I normally have to take 2 diflucan's so many hours apart in order to get rid of my infection!

I've taken 2 Diflucan tablets one one friday and one on Saturday. Monday i started bleeding my period is not due for another week.

I went to the dr last Thursday which is when I took the diflucan, a prescription antifungal. I don't really want to take more diflucan though, I'm more interested if anyone has tried and true methods to get rid of stubborn yeast infections. What have you other pregnant ladies been told to use? Vagisil wont take care of a yeast infection will it?

I took the Diflucan. Day 5 i got my period. What do i do now?? And can i re-fill my Diflucan to take when i am thru with the antibiotic?? And really no tampons?? at all??

My doctor noticed yeast when she did my lab work from my physical. The blood work was negative for pregnancy but it was early so I still could be pregnant. She called in a prescription for the yeast infection and it is only one pill. Can I assume it is safe to take the pill? I am afraid she is assuming I'm not pregnant so may not have worried about it, and she isnt the smartest doctor to be honest.

I have always started on Wednesday, and randomly the last two months I have started Thursdays. This month I had a yeast infection and took prescription Diflucan. And I had to take to to kill off the yeast infection. I had some bleeding yesterday, so I out in a tampon. I went to change it, and there was no blood on it. Has anyone taken diflucan for a yeast infection while pregnant. My doctor gave it to me yesterday and I read that it has Not been proven safe for pregnant or nursing women. And no smart comments about "your doc wont give you anything unsafe to take while prego" because I started bleeding a WHOLE bunch last night/this morning around 1am and I had to go to the hospital. They didnt want me to talk diflucan that early. I am the same way as u. Nothing works but diflucan for me. so i know how u feel.

So yesterday I took one dose of diflucan which is an antibiotic when I looked up the interactions it said it has a major reaction with xanax... its been over 12 hours since I took the diflucan... does anyone know if I can start taking my xanax now.

Dont take diflucan whilst pregnant doctor said its not good for baby but i got canneston cream instead seems to be working so far

She said that in july my ovaries 'stopped' for 2 weeks and then started up again and that's when i got pregnant but it was too early for a pt to give me a positive. Should I be seeing an infectious disease dr at this point? When I take diflucan I feel better quickly. Once I stop within a few days I feel terrible again. They prescribe diflucan for 14 days. Had it 6 x’s. Always comes back. No bacteria grows in urine. I am also antibiotic resistant from antibiotics for 49+ years. I Am not diabetic but do have polycystic ovarian syndrome. WBC >182 /HP no bacteria growth is current urinalysis.

I went to the doctor and without hesitation he gave me a prescription for a drug called Diflucan. I looked the drug up a couple days after and found that it wasnt safe for pregnant or nursing women. So I've had a yeast infection since I found out I was pregnant. My doctor finally gave me a prescription to get diflucan. But my insurance want pay for it because they he said it is a risk for the baby. Has this happened to anyone else? Or have you taken diflucan and everything turned out fine? There r also diet changes that can also help..... I am prone to yeast infections when taking antibiotics, and DIFLUCAN is the only thing that helps. As far as dosage, sorry I can not help...I would suggest asking a Pharmacist as they know meds and interaction and reactions better then most drs.

Day three and already so itchy and painful its ridiculous. Took 150 mg of diflucan yesterday morning...still no relief...how long does it take to work?!?

question ladies...i took my diflucan pill on monday, but i wanted to know is a white discharge a side effect of the pill? i have taking diflucan multiple times before, but i never bothered those times to actually look and see what was going on down there. this time i did and it seems like a white discharge is coming out...someone told me that was the yeast mixing w/the medicine coming out. is that true?

I thought I was having a yeast infection and took diflucan 10 days ago which majorly lessened symptoms. The symptoms never went away fully so my doc called in another diflucan today. I decided to take a look with a magnifying mirror and saw what looked to possibly be a few very small lesions just under the clitoris they are not painful to the touch and look exactly the same as they did ten days ago.

I am 38 weeks pg., and have had a yeast inf. for about a week and a half...I have taken the Diflucan pill once, a cream (one time application) once, and now the Dr. gave me more Diflucan..... what else can I do???? Should I buy some over the counter monistat and use that too???? It is such a stubborn infection with all these hormones....what the heck do I do at this point??? I am so frustrated. Please help me.
