Diflucan vs nystatin

Common Questions and Answers about Diflucan vs nystatin

diflucan

Generally yeast infections require Nystatin swish and swallow, and Diflucan-which is an antimicrobial agent, if it is severe enough. You can also try using Monostat or Miconazole-that is generally used for vaginal yeast infections around your anal region as well and see if helps eliminate those symptoms. I Hope This Helps.
I've read 3 books on coconut oil and many studies. There's a study on coconut oil vs diflucan, if someone wants the link,I'll dig it out. One of the top functional foods. I think everyone should use it! Let me know if you have any questions since I feel like a "junior coconut guru"lol! Really, I have a ton of people on my list who buy virgin coconut oil from me on a cooperative basis (almost wholesale) and they all tell me how wonderful they feel.
No biopsies nothing. Then my regular dr. put me on 2 weeks of nystatin. And, sent me to a Gastro. Dr. He doubled my Nexium to twice a day, and still no help. I was not in the pain that I had been in, but still not 100%. So he decided he wanted to do his own EGD. He did that today. He also saw the white specks that the surgeon did. He also said that he thought it was yeast, so he said that he "brushed" it. I assume that is a test.
I'm in my second bout with it, tx with Diflucan. It took almost 10wks to clear it up the first time. I got it the day after starting TX, and the doc says it a SX too!!
5). Get a Pap smear. The Doctor needs to determine if it's a yeast infection vs. bacterial vaginosis vs. an STI. If it's yeast, he/she will prescribe an anti fungal med ie. Diflucan. If it's bacterial, he/she will prescribe an antibiotic. In Canada, you can by Diflucan over the counter. In not to sure the protocol in the States. 6). Wear condoms or go abstinent between you and your partner until it's cleared up.
I saw a doctor who deals with yeast overgrowth who has given me nystatin and diflucan to try. I have given it a go, but i am 3 weeks into treatment now with 0 improvement. My doctor said i may have yeast overgrowth, but she is starting to wonder if that is just one of my issues. She said that she has never heard of light sensitivity being described as a symptom of yeast overgrowth, and she is starting to wonder if there are other problems going on.
I read that herpes discharge is watery but this is white (sorry to be so graphic). She took a swab of the discharge and send for lab. She put me on diflucan for a week. Could this be the very reason I feel burning everyday? She seems to think so and I trust her. This is the 9 times I been to see the doctor as of 7/15.... And I can't swab anything bc there is nothing there to swab. I started to see a therapist but haven't help much yet.
I recently had a yeast infection and since I'd had them before and instantly knew what it was, I decided to try Monistat 3 day instead of making a trip to the doctor for the Diflucan, which is what I had done in the past. While I was using it I noticed that over the 3 day period it was getting harder for me to fit the application in and by day 3 I had completely swollen and it felt like it was on fire!
used over the counter yeast infection remedies to no avail and was prescribed Diflucan by my internist. Also was prescribed Metrondiazole (antibiotic) and no relief from that. So went to gynecologist and he said it appears to be vulvar dystrophy and he started me on two weeks of topical steroids. I havn't picked it up from the pharmacy yet but am hopeful this will be the answer to my problem.
She also has candida from all the antibiotics, and I don't want her to go on diflucan or nystatin because I understand the yeast comes back with a vengence. She also has medication fatigue. I am going to try a product called threelac which kills fungus from candida and I will keep supplementing with probiotics. If this doesn't work, then I'll do the diflucan but it will require liver tests because it is hard on the liver.
I tried diflucan and other vaginal remedies that never worked.I had felt a creepy crawly sensation below with intense night time itching . I kept trying to check but saw nothing. It was only when I understood that pinworms are also known as thread worms because they look like little bits of white or translucent thread that I knew I was infested. Take a bath before bed, wait for the itching and take a pice of tape and press it against your anus. You'll see them moving on it .
