since then i have been to my gyno who cultured my yeast infection and said best medication for it was diflucan, so he also prescribed me to diflucan for 7 days-never went away. then he again prescribed me diflucan 150 once for 3 weeks. never went away!!!
this is my first yeast infection so i dont know why diflucan will not cure me. i am 22 years old, smoke and drink on the weekends, work out regularly, work nights, recently pretty stressed.

I have had a yeast infection for about 3 months now. I have tried Gynazole-1 & when that didn't work I was given 2 Diflucan pills taken 3 days apart. That didn't work so I went back to the Dr. who looked under the microscope & said it looked like definately yeast. I have had cultures & STD testing done, all fine. So I was given a 7 day treatment of Terazol & 2 more Diflucan pills (take 5 days apart) to take at the same time as using the Terazol.
All three times I, as well as my female partner have tested negative for all STDs. The urologist said to try diflucan first to see if it is a yeast infection, then if the symptoms persisted, take medication for possible trichomoniasis infection. If that didn't work then he would have to do a visual inspection with a camera scope. I took a test for trichomoniasis (urine NAA test) and that came back negative as well.
So I've got a long one here.. Starting in December I got back together with my boyfriend whom I hadn't been with in about 2 months. We got back together and I experienced my first yeast infection. I used monistat and the symptoms went away, and waited a week to have sex. The sex was slightly painful and had a little amount of spotting afterwards. Well, the yeast infection came back right away...
I had a really bad yeast infection so my husband and I stopped having sex right when I got it 3 weeks ago. I took diflucan and it didn't work, then I took a 7 day tercanazole. It worked, I stopped having redness, itchiness and the dischsrge finally stopped. I had sex with my husband and now, when I pee there's light pink when I wipe, is that just from having sex for the first time in a while? I think I'm paranoid.
So, this all started with a yeast infection.
I had some pretty typical symptoms, went to the doc, who diagnosed by my description of symptoms. Did a urine test for STDs (chlamydia, gonnehrea) all negative. He prescribed Diflucan and gave me 2 pills. I took the first one and the symptoms got a lot better. Then (my thought is it wasn't fully healed) after sex it returned. So I took another Diflucan, everything seemed cool.
Then I got a really bad cold and was prescribed a Z pack. Surprise!
this is my first pregnancy, and I dont want to take anything to harm the baby. I have had a yeast infection before and my body feel the same way, only this time I dont have the discharge. I also have been told that they are very common in pregnancies. Will you please tell me if I can take a diflucan 150mg?
my question is, i am on birth control and was wondering is that contributing to the stubborn yeast, also ive tried to get her to check in more depth in my rectal area (hoping thats correct) just to see if it might be a hemorrhoid, fistula, or fissure as i keep reading about but she thinks its not necessary and she only sees that its red and irritated from yeast. can anybody give me some advice, im thinking about seeing another doctor!
If you and your partner had yeast that you were passing back and forth, the diflucan would work. Yeast really doesn't smell and has hallmark signs of discharge and itching in women. Did your doctor swab the discharge to see if it is yeast or fungal? (any discharge that you have as we all have vaginal discharge they can swab at any time). That should be your next step if not. STD's usually do not have an odor.
Well darn if it's safe why wouldn't my doc give me it. I absolutely HATE having to use monistant. First time ever using it and its just so annoying and unpleasant!!
Well, if you have never been to a doctor to have it properly diagnosed, that is usually recommended for a first time treatment of yeast infections. Can you ask your mom to set this up for you. They swab it and look at it under a microscope. It does sound like yeast but don't want to diagnose you (as that is inappropriate on the internet). What I do for yeast after having it diagnosed so knowing the signs is to either call the doctor and get a pill called diflucan which works fantastic.
Hi and sorry you are going through all this. The Candida or thrush can be resistant to diflucan so they gave you the Nystatin which should work much better. Are you still on the Nystatin? Regarding the RMSF did they do a test to determine you were positive or did they go by symptoms? Did your fever go down within 72 hours after taking the Doxycycline? If it didn't you could have something else that has symptoms like it such as Ehrlichiosis and Anaplasmosis.
ve gotten yeast infections every few weeks...today I was diagnosed with chronic yeast and put on a new med to help it...if that doesnt work, she's going to put me on diflucan for a couple weeks...its been so rough! This is my 4th one in 20 weeks and I'm so sick of them...I've cut down on sugar as much as I really can with hypoglycemia, and I've been doing probiotics as well and nothing is helping.
I have contracted trichiamonas from my partner, and we were both treated with a 2g dose of metronidazole. Is it stil normal to have irritation and itching after treatment?? We have not had sex, and I am worried that it is not cured, plus I have been giving a 150mg dose of Diflucan.
Therapeutic doses tend to hit things harder and that is the one day verses longer courses of lower dose medicine. But it takes two days to work (with any of them). I used the one day and on day three was getting back to normal. I do also use probiotic yogurt.
But honestly, diflucan was fantastic and easy. So if your doctor will prescribe that, it works great.
I went to my doctor to get some relief, she did a vaginal exam and was positive it was yeast, checked under her microscope to be sure and came back with 3 packages of Diflucan. Told me to take one every other day and if I wasn't feeling better by Monday to come back. Well the same night I took my 1st pill right away and it somewhat helped. I knew it would take time. The following day things were slowly worsening. The burning got more intense. I was peeing like every hour.
I talked to many people who had trigonitis due to candida, they all tried Diflucan, but it didn't work for them, after that they changed the antimycotic to itrakonazole (Omicral, Onungal in my country) and after 1-2 months on it they all got well. Right now i'm going to try this treatment and i got an MRI appointment to look for endo or other cause for my pain.
