About 1 year ago, I got some kind of an infection or some kind of a fungus on my penis. It started itching, so I went to a doctor, was prescribed diflucan and cream that contains Clotrimazole and Betamethasone. I applied this, itch went away, things got better, however, the prepuce continued to shrink over the next 10 months. I got tired of the tight forskin which was causing discomfort during sex. I got circumcised on: 3/18/2005. Am very happy with results.

Thanks for taking my question. I was getting ready to deploy to Afghanistan and had unprotected oral sex performed on me by someone I didn't know. No vaginal or anything like that. No encounters of any kind since. Everything was fine, but about three months after the encounter, I developed a lowgrade itch and slight pain in the tip of my penis. The tip of my penis is also red from time to time, meaning one time I urinate it is, the next it isn't.

My stool went back to normal when I was take in the Diflucan. It was darker and more solid and dense, but it changed again after I finished the Diflucan. A second course of Diflucan made my stool slighly darker. Periodically, I experience plain fatigue, with no fever or chills, and I hear digestion noises (water trickling) in my stomach and intestins after a meal with some gas, but not excessive. The fatigue lasts for few days. Sometimes I experiense some light pulsating muscle aches.

I would consider a urology or dermatology referral to further evaluate the discoloration. Followup with your personal physician is essential. I have had an endoscopy which revealed nothing except a small polyp, a CT with barium which revealed esophagitis and esophageal wall thickening. Was placed on Diflucan for 10 days (got hives)(even though no candida showed) and Nexium for 10 days. I was almost symptom free while on this regimen.3 days later all symptoms returned. The Dr is keeping me on Nexium and says it is radiation damage. I had the radiation 7 years ago! I am concerned this is being misdiagnosed and the starts of cancer.

He told me I had mild prostatitis and put me on cipro. He also gave me of diflucan just in case it was yeast. I have been on both a few days with no change. It seems to only hurt at the tip, not down the urethral canal or anywhere else. I have some anal irritation (but that happens to me a lot) and ejaculations have gotten much more globular and less powerful. My gp suggested intraurethral herpes, but I never had an outbreak anywhere and I see NO redness or bumps.

I had on and off vaginal yeast infection last year and treated w/ one dose of diflucan. I read that esophageal or oral candidiasis can cause dysphagia too.Pls. help!

I have taken several courses of Diflucan in case it is thrush, to no effect. Are these symptoms indicative of post UTI inflammation or IC? Is there really a difference (IC seems to be a term covering a wide range of things). Is the problem likely to clear up on its own or should I have the cystoscopy? How long should I wait to see if I recover on my own before undergoing this? How likely is it that a cystoscopy will exacerbate the symptoms?

Keflex and Diflucan 2. Macrobid and Diflucan 3. Amoxocillan and Diflucan was also given Monistat Each time I take each medication, the pain will go away and a subsequent blood/urine/swab test 2-3 days later produces normal readings. But symptoms return again after a few weeks!!! I noticed slight bleeding from urethra and clitoris as well as vaginal area. When I tried Monistat for a few days, this increased the bleeding and did not releive any soreness.

2, everything else in normal range 1 week prior to test - Botox cosmetic injections (glabella area - 7 injections with a minute needle intramuscularly). 2-1/2 weeks prior to test - 2 doses of Diflucan (yeast infection recurred) 6 weeks prior to test 5 days on Ketek Telithromycin, 1 dose Diflucan (sinus infection & resulting yeast infection from antibiotics) 8 weeks prior to test 10 day course of Amoxycillian for Sinus infection.

The GI specialist told me to do another endo to see if my candida subsides in a month. He put me on diflucan for 2 weeks and told me to continue taking protonix as well as telling me to take OTC florastor. It has been 10 days since then and I am still having the same symptoms. Undigested/Floating/sometimes loose/sometimes large pellet/ stools. Still feeling strange pressue when i lie down.

I pulled this from the Diflucan website (diflucan.com) While the doses given in here are higher than the human dose, it still makes me nervous to see there is the potential for any of these effects on the baby. My guess is that it should only be used as a last resort : ) I really hope you can get rid of it soon, they are no fun. I have had only the one and I remember it well! Does anyone agree with the yeast (candida) theory or am I out of my mind?? I think Sporonox would work better than Diflucan since Diflucan doesn't do the job very well anymore. I am a real mess. Does anybody think that I did the right thing begging my ENT to send me to an infectious disease doctor to see if I can get my body back on track. Herbs aren't doing the trick either. Can someone please give me an opinion or some serious advice??? Thanks!!

I am curious as to whether my GERD and abdominal pain were caused by fungus. I have read that candida can cause gastritis in immunosuppressed individuals (I am not immunosuppressed, very healthy aside from GERD).

I had a pinkish rash on my shoulder, neck, and tailbone (I had had the rash once before years ago). Dr. said it was a fungal skin infection and prescribed Diflucan. I recv'd oral sex abt 5x over the course of 3 wks from someone I thought I knew well. 4th wk, Jan 9, I started getting itchy-figured it was hormones. Period started but the itchiness didn't stop. 12th, bought a 3-day Monistat pack to resolve the issue but it didn't work & cream started to burn BADLY. 15th, dr sees nothing (still have some of the 'old blood' from the end of period) & gave me 2 Diflucan. Take 1st pill & by day 3, I feel a some relief.

When it reappeared, I was prescribed Bactrim, also with temporarily results. When it recurred again, I visited another physician, and was prescribed Diflucan, an antifungal, as yeast was found in my vaginal culture. The problem is now worse than ever, the gas discharge is very frequent, and so is the bloating. What should I do next? My physicians are just as confused as I (due to my age and absence of surgical or pregancy history).

Also, I have to salt things because otherwise my blood pressure drops too low, but if you have high BP, ask your dr about adding salt or a salt substitute. You can eat a ton of what you ARE allowed to eat, and still lose weight as an added bonus, assuming you are carrying a few extra pounds. I've lost 30+ lbs and it feels good, down to my old weight. (I am thinking the whole 'eat carbs, not fat!' diet approach makes no sense for me at least.

I've been seeing my new pt for just over six weeks and I am greatly improved. I am also on weekly diflucan for the moment and have been using a tricyclic antidepressant to quite the nerves down. These things are working for me. Good luck.

As an asisde I had vey bad piles while all this was going on which have now cleared and thrush from the antibotics treated with diflucan! Still using canesten talc to keep my penis dry. I am at the end of my nerves. Will I ever feel normal again. This is really geting me down but wonder if it is all in my head!

I went to my doctor and he said it appeared to be a reaction to yeast and prescribed diflucan for 14 days and Monostat cream (miconazole 2%). The redness went away but her doctor found no yeast. They did find a few BV cells and the beginnings of endometriosis <sp?> but her ph was fine and her flora and pap were normal.

2nd doctor visit, diagnosed with oral Thrush and put on Diflucan. Chlymidia, Gon, Syph, Herp all came back negative again. Thrush gone by 10/22/03 9/25/03: Felt 100% fine again 10/5/03: Tingling came back in a mild format again and is still going on thru today. It almost seems like it is as much in the prostate area as the urethra now. I need some idea what is going on. My guess is a secondary infection from the STD of some sort. Maybe in the prostate.
