Minocycline, Metrogel, Prosacea, Eurax, Loprox, Tea Tree Ointment, Econazole, Clotrimazole, Ketoconazole 1%, Selsun Blue, Lotrimin Ultra, Finacea, oral Diflucan, an assortment of vitamins and supplements, natural and alternative medicine. I have this theory that my body is attacking my chin area's skin cells, therefore breaking down my skin barrier or turning cell turnover too rapidly, which may make the cells clump up in my pores. How do I get to the gist of it and stop it?
The doctor started me on a two-week regiment of neomycin which will be followed by nystatin and diflucan. I am also taking natural supplements to build up the good bacteria. He sure was correct when he said I wouldn't feel well while taking this medicine! In one of your studies you mentioned other pathogens and infections, but not the ones I have. Is it a case of it not mattering which infection one has, or are the ones you mentioned definitive markers for CFS?
(Some find relief within days or weeks). As far as a natural way to treat, this is probably as good as others on th e market. The other alternative would be a prescription medication. There are a few Members who are treating yeast as well and hopefully they will respond. I have heard good things about the probiotics. Good luck and take care.
Surgery and Illness History Have had some gastrointestinal problems (constipation/diarrhea/IBS), allergies and repeated sinuses/throat/ear issues for as long as I can remember. Still battle with sinusitis and ear problems which is acknowledged by GP as "wicked allergies" but ENT says he sees nothing wrong with ears which remain chronically painful and crackle as if pressure changing most of the time. 1971 Tonsillectomy.
Depending on how you feel about trying alternative methods, I've always used Natren's Acidophilus for infants and children, along with a natural mild chlorophyl. Depending on severe the yeast infection is, this method will actually take it away anywhere between 2 to 6 days. I've also used this method during ear infections b/c yeast builds up and can irritate the ear which then produces excessive wax...I hope you and he will find comfort soon.
I have had a yeast infection since November 2008. I tried two courses of diflucan, 1 -7 day of terazol with no relief. I then went the natural route and used the garlic and yogurt and apple cider all the while taking a probiotic. I bought everything possible on the internet. I went on a 30 day liver cleanse and have been eating nothing but chicken and vegetables for almost 3 months.
Diflucan is amazing...when i am prescribed antibiotics my doc will automaically prescribe diflucan as well.
You don't want to use it of course when are o'ing as it will kill cm as well. But, a safe and natural alternative that may help. It could be the reason for elevated temp. It's not uncommon to get one or two out of the ordinary temps here and there. I'll be watching to see what your temp does today.
I have fought this unfriendly fungus off and on for over 10 years. (43/F) I have taken Griseofluvan, Diflucan, and tried every topical cream, oil, and alternative remedy I can find. I took Griseofluvan for over 4 months with no improvement, and quit the treatment because of the toxic effects. The doctor said there was nothing she could do, that it was systematic, and I would never get rid of it.
My LLMD is not a big help, and I have been financially devastated from all this, as many have. Is there a natural alternative to Nystatin that will not cause a severe reaction, if that is what it is? Thsi isn't a pity party for myself, but am really not sure what is happening or even where to go to find direction now. My kids do not live with me except every other Thursday, Friday, Sat. and Sunday, so I am here alone most of the time.
This done using fungicides. There are many natural fungicides such as Shark Liver Oil which can be used in a maintenance fashion once Candida levels are low enough, however initially it is probably best to get a prescription from your doctor for an antifungal such as Nystatin, Lamisil or Diflucan. All seem to be considered safe with little or no side effects. You will of course have to convince your doctor of the need for such a prescription. Candida diet.
I have been battling a male yeast infection for a few months now and have gone through two rounds of topical cream treatments of Nystatin and Ketaconazole which after both symptoms reappeared. I'm now taking generic Diflucan pills for 14 days and while the yeast infection symptoms seem to have subsided, my skin is still flaking and peeling off my penis. This generally happens the few days following masturbation.
Monistat and Diflucan help the symptoms while you have them but taking a natural alternative helps from reoccuring visits from that annoying problem. You should consider vitamins that help control the overgrowth of yeast. Acidophuls vitamins are inexpensive and highly effective.
By the way, I'm spending a fortune on probiotics and yogurt (more natural treatments I don't like, but Diflucan 200mg twice a day for three months hasn't worked in the past) trying to fend off the gut and vaginal candida infections that always follow antibiotic use. I've had diarrhea since the day after I started the antibiotics. The garlic, reputedly, does not cause any such problem, so I read, and it makes sense. The antibiotics are synthetic, the garlic is not.
Conventional doctors said my coating does not look like thrush it doesn't resemble cottage cheese just a coating on the back of the tongue and sometimes it covers my entire tongue. It varies from day to day. I went to a few alternative doctors who said it is candida in my mouth due to all the antibiotics I was on for so long and they said that is why the coating came a month before ALL these symptoms started.

Don't douche frequently--although sometimes a commercially prepared gentle vinegar and water douche can restore the natural pH of the vagina if used infrequently. Don't use sprays or powders down below, just keep the area clean and dry. If you notice symptoms after receiving oral sex, be sure to start rinsing your outer parts off with a gentle vinegar and water wash right afterwards.
i am on birth control pills which unfortunately I have to take since i have PCOS and will rarely get my period unless i take the pill. I asked them about alternative meds to take in lieu of the pills and non of them can give me a straight answer...I am completely frustrated and dont know what to do. it hinders my sexual life severely..my fiance is very supportive but I AM FRUSTRATED!
I think what I really need is alternative medicine, but sadly, that wouldn't be covered by our insurance. Has anyone had similar issues or experiences? I feel like I've been putting together a jigsaw puzzle for the past year and still have many pieces missing. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
You might have more luck with an alternative health practitioner... Are you taking probiotics daily? I know they are expensive but keep on at them and buy a good brand such as Biocare (vegetable capsules are more easily digestible) Antibiotics will not be helping your body replenish itself with good bacteria, i know its hard but try and stay off the antibiotics and painkillers, they will really strip your body of good bacteria, and they will be making your kidneys, liver, stomach etc suffer.
I have never had yeast infections until now. A few months ago I thought I was having a reaction to the new pads I was using. My vagina was swollen and red, slightly itchy; no discharge the second day after my period started. After days of suffering, I went to the Dr. who said it probably was the pads. He said he didn't see any yeast but took a culture just to be sure. They called and said I had a VERY bad yeast infection. This time I started feeling similar to the last time.
Also I am concerned by the information that says that BV can cause birth problems and pelvic inflamatory disease etc that could harm a pregnancy.... I am delaying treating with the doxy to find some other alternative, but meanwhile am fearing that I am potential harming my reproductive succcess .... I have dug into the the web's online medical information and have found very little on preventing BV or Eureaplasma; even the DR.s I have talkjed to have had such little information .
So there it was confirmed. A yeast infection of the skin surrounding my vagina. She gave me diflucan, in on pill to take and also gave me monistat 7 to use as well. So I took the pill 3 days ago today and have been using the cream since. I feel better with the itching again, but at night, I think I touch the area, so when I wake up in the morning it's red again. I feel like these treatments aren't working. How long do I have to wait for the treatments to work.
I recently had a yeast infection and since I'd had them before and instantly knew what it was, I decided to try Monistat 3 day instead of making a trip to the doctor for the Diflucan, which is what I had done in the past. While I was using it I noticed that over the 3 day period it was getting harder for me to fit the application in and by day 3 I had completely swollen and it felt like it was on fire!
Sorry, I forgot to mention that I was also on Diflucan to prevent yeast infection during this 2 weeks of Clinamax. GOOD LUCK! Don't forget to google desquamative inflammatory vaginitis.
Although, in the case of a recent UTI, I did take Rx, so an herbal isn't always a good alternative. Also, I'm guessing your doc gave you Nystatin in case of Candida. (Statins are taken for cholesterol and not a good idea for a woman with Lyme, et.al., according to one of my neurologists.) I found Nystatin to be mostly useless, although others have benefited from it. I have been reading about a controversial supplement called MMS for a couple weeks.
or do the IgeneX blood test for lyme? Or start antibiotics even though I would love to do like my friend and go the alternative medicine route... Why or why are there so many questions associated with lyme and no one believes that you have it or that it's real except friends you have made on a lyme forum?
