Diflucan expiration

Common Questions and Answers about Diflucan expiration

diflucan

I did a 3 day monistat (the package was close to expiration because I had it in my cupboard for a while). It did not go away and then I tried another 3 day monistat. Still itching. I called the doctor and was able to get in to see a PA. She asked me about Herpes. I told her that everything in my relationship with my husband had been the same for 12 years and before that I hadn't had sex for 5 years. She said that Herpes can show up after many many years.
Now, 5 years later, out of nowhere, I started itching and burning really bad. I honestly thought I had a yeast infection and took a Diflucan for it. After about 5 days or itching and burning, the lesions started appearing and I could not believe I was having an outbreak. I actually had some Acyclovir from a few years back (hope it's not bad by now) so I started taking its getting much better. I do NOT remember my first outbreak being this miserable. SOOOOO uncomfortable.
Nurse gave me Valtrex samples that were expired, but she said it still worked the same since it had been less than 2 years after expiration date. At 9 weeks, started having pain in penis (especially at night) and frequent need to urinate. Also had pain in anus that comes and goes, coupled with a moist feeling in anus and crotch that also comes and goes. Went back to dr. 10 weeks 4 days after sex who said it sounded more like a prostate infection than herpes. Dr.
But when I still had the feeling she took a sample, saw a little bit of yeast, gave me a Diflucan pill, which seemed to work but then the symptoms came back a week later and I decided to try another dosage of Monistat 3. During this I got a UTI and went in to get antibiotics for it, which cleared it up. However, I still had the itch and again, went back to the doctor.
I recently had a yeast infection and since I'd had them before and instantly knew what it was, I decided to try Monistat 3 day instead of making a trip to the doctor for the Diflucan, which is what I had done in the past. While I was using it I noticed that over the 3 day period it was getting harder for me to fit the application in and by day 3 I had completely swollen and it felt like it was on fire!
The symptoms were a lot like Lyme (brain fog, fatigue), but I got very bloated, my eyes were red, my teeth felt loose, and I couldn't think straight. I went on high doses of Diflucan and it killed the yeast infection, and stripped all sugars out of my diet till the yeast was killed off ... so no fruit, no sugar at all. To be fair, my doc said he had 'never' seen that happen to anyone before, so this may well not apply to you. Simply fwiw.
The water usually has an expiration date. Don’t buy a regular bottle of regular drinking water or spring water. This water contains more contaminants than you think—not enough to make you sick if you drink it, but you don’t want to add them to the other germs you are working to get out of your sinuses. Buy some table salt without iodine. Iodine is an irritant to some people. Sea salt is okay, as long as it has the same size grains as table salt.
