diflucan didn't work

I've taken 2 Diflucan tablets one one friday and one on Saturday. Monday i started bleeding my period is not due for another week.

hmmm... what form of terconazole did he write you? diflucan is fluconazole, another anti-fungal. so if the terconazole didn't work, i don't know if the fluconazole will. and they both are category C during pregnancy. it's safer to use anti-fungals in cream or suppository form as they would then not enter the blood stream and carry the potential to cross the placental barrier. But i don't know...

I've been on here before asking how long it takes ptsd therapy to work, well i got my answer it hasn't worked and now my therapist is sending me to someone else i feel so let down after going through all that with him with no improvement. He thinks my past issues are stopping the therapy from working so now he has stopped it and wants me to go to a psychotherapist which i don't want to do i feel like i'm being forced to, i am so frustrated with it all and just want to give up.

( was in pain but took some meds & went home. Now today I'm poppin a lot lol . It doesn't work for everyone I guess!!

I have had a yeast infection for about 3 months now. I have tried Gynazole-1 & when that didn't work I was given 2 Diflucan pills taken 3 days apart. That didn't work so I went back to the Dr. who looked under the microscope & said it looked like definately yeast. I have had cultures & STD testing done, all fine. So I was given a 7 day treatment of Terazol & 2 more Diflucan pills (take 5 days apart) to take at the same time as using the Terazol.

My experience with diflucan is that it can take a few days to work. I think it's odd though that they didn't test you for a yeast infection. If your symptoms don't clear up within a few days i'd go back to the doctor or go to a different one and tell them you want to be tested to make sure it is indeed a yeast infection. I made the mistake 2 weeks ago of thinking i had a yeast infection only to find out it was a bad UTI.

this is my first yeast infection so i dont know why diflucan will not cure me. i am 22 years old, smoke and drink on the weekends, work out regularly, work nights, recently pretty stressed. tested negative for STD'S (including HIV), not a diabetic. im starting to change my diet more to eliminate yeast and sugar, and taking probiotics--but im feeling helpless and worried! any suggestions would help please, i feel like it is only getting worse...

I know that you cant take diflucan (fluconazole ~generic for diflucan) but I was wondering if there was anything else. My doctors office is not open yet so I will be calling them when they are available, but was wondering if any of you ladies knew anything about this. Any help would be much appreciated!

Don't be afraid -- just be watchful. It's better to know what could go wrong, so you can call the doc if those adverse symptoms start to appear. That doesn't mean they WILL appear, only that they could. The names of these meds may not be familiar, but they are pretty common meds: Levofloxacin is or is in the same family at Cipro. I've taken it in the past, tho not for long periods of time, with no problems. It's a fairly common med.

My son had to take the nystatin for like 10 days before we saw any relief. I also had to apply it to my nipples as well to make sure we weren't passing the infection back and forth. Thrush can be very difficult to treat...be consistent with the medication and if after a week + you still don't see any relief, they do make diflucan in an oral suspension that babies can take. Diflucan is a stronger yeast killer.

I thought I had a yeast infection (itching, burning, white discharge) so I used monistat 1. The burning went away but the itching remained bad for a week and the discharge changed to more yellow/thin. I needed a referral to get to a gynecologist and I wouldn't be able to get in with him until friday. I had a diskectomy back in May 09 because I had a Big heriated disc and a protrusion pressing on my root nerves L4- L5-S1. Well I was in so much pain and my left leg is pins and needles with foot drop. My right leg is also showing symptoms now too. I began a round of the z-pack early this week for a bacterial infection (I have been sick for a month now; the dr. thinks it started as a cold and then I picked up a secondary infection), and just finished it up yesterday. I've been struggling for five months now with yeast infection symptoms. I have the white discharge (goes back and forth between curd-like and just thickened), SEVERE itching, and my vulva has gotten really red. The first month, I took OTC Monistat and it went away. The second time (exactly one month later), I took the Monistat again. The symptoms got a little better but never went completely away.
