My doc usually calls me in terconazole goo, he said the diflucan or fluconazole pill isnt allowed during pregnancy which ***** because having a yeast infection isnt bad enough,add dealing with the goo treatment to it.
C albicans can be resistant to drugs ending in azole. Diflucan is Fluconazole. They can give you Amphotericin B but it has bad side effects. I would the infectious doctor.
The pill my doctor gives me is Diflucan. She only gives it to me when I have one. I get one whenever I have to take antibiotics.. It does not matter how much freaken yogart I eat.
I think the diet goes for when you start getting them and I did not get a yeast infection ever until I had sex as well. So I am thinking that it could help. Although since I only get them when I take antibiotics I never paid attention to looking for the diet again.

I've had this irritation in the area under my foreskin for over a year now. A fungal cream seems to keep it at bay and I've even taken Diflucan/Fluconazole (200 mg daily) for a week. It is very common to get thrush after antibiotics as they kill off all the good bacteria and allow there to be an overgrowth of Candida (the yeast that causes thrush).
You can use a cream or pessary ie clotrimazole (Canesten) or take a single dose tablet ie fluconazole (Diflucan). At the same time you might want to take some probiotics to help recolonise the good bacteria in your gut.
No really recommended, but it helps eating plain yogurt or even apply it external helps treating yeast (candida) infection. Diflucan/Fluconazole is still your best bet.
Plain Yogurt is the super sour tasting one with no sugar. Sugar helps those bacterias to grow, so stay away from the sweet stuff..

blood test are often wrong because they will say negative when it is something because of the window of time to test being so small and nearly impossible to pin point, the best times to blood test is in pregnancy because of the drastic hormonal shift and when ill, as herpes manifests best in immune systems that are down.
