Common Questions and Answers about Diflucan and monistat together

Went to my doctor and and she told me I was allergic to monistat, gave me hydrocortisone cream and a diflucan. I took the previous poster's advice and douched several times with summer's eve with vinegar (vinegar is known to restore the pH balance, which a yeastie throws out of whack). I IMMEDIATELY felt so much better. That was around 11am, now, at 5, the swelling is down considerably and the burning/itching is almost completely gone. Stay away from monistat ladies!!
I just found out that I have a yeast infection The doctor prescribe diflucan #3 and to take them every five day and he also prescribe terconazle the cream i hate the cream already im really hoping that the diflucan work.
You have already been to see the doctor and he diagnosed it as a chemical burn. They can take what seems like FOREVER to heal and can feel just awful! If I were you, if you are still in severe enough pain and distress, go back (or call) and let him know what is going on. In the mean time, I'll tell you what worked for me within a few days: I stopped shaving that area all together. It's uncomfortable the 1st few days but that will pass. I gave upshaving that area for about a week.
i saw a gynecologist cnm today and she said i have a yeast infection and that my options were the diflucan, some other stuff i can't remember, and then monistat, i guess i'm choosing monistat because it's going to be the cheapest. i've had the "itchy" symptoms for about 2 weeks so i'm glad i got into the doctor to find out what it is. i'm buying some monistat tonight and i'm glad i read this because i'm NOT getting the monistat 1 because it sounds terrible!!

I had the same thing with the Yaz. I was on Yasmin and switched to Yaz and promptly gained about 5 or more pounds. No problems at all with Yasmin, and I was on it for 5 or more years. I still work out like I did on Yasmin, and I've never eaten a lot, although, the Yaz does make me hungry all the time, and I can't seem to get rid of this bloating. I spot constantly and cramp. I have another friend that is the same way.
I left the office and came back in 1 hour. She took out the tampon and there was no blue dye. So she said no fistula between the colon and vagina. So I went home and went to the bathroom. Well there was blue dye in my urine. So I went back into the office where they drew some urine with a catherer. There was blue tint to it. So she said that it was between my colon and bladder. So I went to the Cleveland Clinic and was checked and they could not find anything. They even did a coloscopy.
I decided to look up macrobid before I took it in the drug interactions checker online. It says Diflucan and Macrobid together can cause pulmonaryarrest and renalfailure.Decided not to take the macrobid.I also took another vagisil screening kit test and it does say its a yeast infection.and on xmas night I put in a boric acid 400mg vaginally my gyno prescribed that she wants me to do once a week.
my boyfriend and i are always together, so i hope this man has not cheated on me and brought something back to me. he has no symptoms of herpes, nor does he have these fissures. however, i will take the advise of a someone who posted their comment, how their doctor prescriped clobetosol cream .5%. i actuall use clobestol on my eczema that is on my hands and fingers. my hands get so dry at times that they do crack, so i put the clobetasol on it and it starts to heal in no time.
moinstat, which I used once or twice a year when I had yeast infections since I was about 20. It stung everything and the diflucan fixed nothing. I went back and asked for an std test, i have been seeing 2 guys for the last 2 months, since my soon to be ex husband is out of the pic. clamidia and gonorhea both negative, but the Dr had given me a Zithromax pack just in case and some more potent yeast infection cream. The cream hurt bad and the Zpack did nothing.
but I also had the cuts. That made it something all together different for me. I also limit sugar and yeast and avoid stress as much as possible and get plenty of rest. There is no better medicine than that.
we ended up taking a break for about 4 months and i got off my birth control not expecting to get back with him and being on BC for the last 3 years i figured ide give my body a break and stay off of it for a while .. well we got back together and now im getting these cuts we tried extra lube .. didnt work ... we tried having softer sex .. didnt work .. we both got tested for any std's .. thankfully negative ..
my 2nd one in 2 yrs, so I used monistat3. It burned terribly!-had to wipe it out! Called MD she gave me Diflucan 150 every 3 days for a total of 3 pills. Took 1, started to feel relief, did the gynazol cream that she ordered as well. Itching, discharge gone in about 2 days, but still reddness and slight burning. Didn't take the other pills, started having bad abdominal pains. Blood tests + everything ok, most likely GI related. Called MD still didn't feel 100%, said to take the rest.
After that like a two weeks I was giving a antibiotics for my tooth and I got yeast infection again this time I got a cream for it which did not really cleared completely I think since then I had period. and after that I myself tried three or four time monistat and vagisil. I still have a bad feeling something is wrong down there it itch a little and little discharge as well not so bad but that could easily grow bigger in few days.
I called my partner and told him about my bumps and discomfort while peeing and together we went to the nearest walk-in clinic. the doctor asked me the routine questions...I told him that I didn't experience any flu-like symptoms, fatigue, body aches or even the intolerable pain I hear that comes with first OB's. for me it was when i pee'd or tried to press on the bumps that i felt discomfort.
But I'm on the last day of the medicine..and the discharge charged. I felt like I had had a yeast infection from the being. and even when I went to the doctor she said "you have a hell of a yeast infection" but when I told her I was taking the bv medicine she told me just to finish it.
I've seen 2 doctors and 1 specialist, none have really told me anything and ALL tests always come back negative (I was tested for herpes as well.) I've taken monistat, flagyl, cortizone (steroid) pills and cream and nothing has worked. The specialist has put me on a neurotransmitter medicine because she thinks the nerve endings in my vulva are misfiring, which sounds far fetched to me but at this point I'll try anything! Is anyone else having similar issues??
I have a yeast infection and am using monistat 3 to treat it. I started Tuesday night so will use the last suppository Thursday night. I only see my boyfriend on the weekends, and this is the last time I'll see him before I leave for the summer across the country. (I know, what incredible timing). Would it be okay to receive oral sex Friday night provided I rinsed out any excess medication?
They occur alone or together and can affect my vaginal opening, and labia, as well as the area at the top of the outer labia. I have seen 4 doctors, all of whom thought it was yeast and dismissed herpes in the absence of any sores/cuts/lesions/bumps/pain with urination. I also recently had a pap and internally appeared fine aside from the copious white discharge. I have no reason to suspect the person I slept with has herpes but I can't get the idea out of my head.

He has said he was tested before we were together and was clean. and we used a condom 98% of the time. It hasn't gone away in the past few months, and I've started getting symptoms like discharge (sometimes normal, sometimes thick and cottege cheesy) and I also have cracks on my perenium that don't seem to heal ever.
She prescribed me three tablets of Diflucan but the discharge continues!!!! I have tried a 7 day monistat which always worked in the past...Still having the discharge! I am not sure if this is even a yeast infection as I have not been directly tested for yeast! The discharge does not clear up with treatment and then reappear...it is pretty much always there! Some days is heavier than others...but this is not something I have ever experience before and I have been sexually active since I was 16.
My boyfriend and I have been together for nearly a year now. He was divorced last year and he has had a vasectomy. Last spring after complete STD testing we began having unprotected sex. A month later he developed a UTI and I had an allergic reaction that put me on strong antibiotics (doxycycline) and short term prednisone because they had no idea what I was reacting too. I developed a yeast infection-my first in 3 years and the 3rd in my entire 30 years. Cleared the infection with monistat.
He prescribed me 1 dose of diflucan and the symptoms went away after about 7 days of taking the pill even though people say you should feel relief in two to three days. The symptoms all together lasted three weeks. A month later right before my period again Same symptoms in the same areas maybe just a bit milder. I tried using monistat 7 which took my symptoms away for two days. Once again I went to my doctor and he could do a swab this time because I was not on my period yet.
On December 26th I had unprotected sex and a few days later I started having vaginal burning redness and irritation. I went to the dr and was treated for yeast. Went back the next week and still had yeast so was treated again orally and with cream again. Symptoms didnt go away so I went back for another swab. They saw some bacteria so I was then treated for bv. The symptoms didnt go away so the dr did a yeast culture as well as a herpes culture although I had no sores or lesions.
The bumps weren't painful and they weren't really raised. I don't think they were itchy either. I took 3 day monistat and it seemed to help a little, but I didn't get the expected reaction. It went away and I went on with my life. About a month later, when my period comes around again, I get another yeast infection. It is what I typically experienced before with yeast infections.
i had something like this before, called my doctors office and the lady just told me to put in monistat. i thought i read that genital herpes stays on one side, can yeast infections cause "paper cuts"? i've been stretching and throughly examining down there looking to see if any blisters/sores popped up but nothing at all. my doctor said she was 90% it wasn't herpes but the only reason i'm so concerned is because i keep reading these stories how peoples outbreaks are only cuts.
Even then i have only had oral sex with one person ( i have spoken with the guy and he was tested for HIV and STD's after we were together and all was negitive so i know that cannot be that ) Any advice would be greatly appreciated as i am started to get really scared .
told me it was probably an allergic reaction to the Store brand monistat and gave me a prescription for Diflucan. Your dh may be passing the yeast infection back to you. When men have yeast infections they usually don't have symptoms. His Dr. could give him a prescription for diflucan. Some tips: avoid douche. wear white cotton underwear. stay away from scented soaps, scented pad and scented tampons. I use the summers eve sensitive skin soap after sex. Also avoid wearing tight fitting pants.
I always get yeast infections when starting birth control pills. Used monistat 1 and it cleared up pretty much right away. I didn't really think twice about it and resumed sex with my normal partner when we got back together. I have never noticed any "typical" herpes symptoms and don't think that the person was high risk for any STDs (not many partners, practices safe sex), but with herpes I guess you never know.
