he put me on oracea 40mg once a day and differin gel 0.3%....i was reading the paper that comes with oracea~doxycycline and it says it doesnt kill bacteria now im getting worried because minocycline does kill bacteria now im worried i will break out more from the oracea.it says its for rosacea but doest oracea work to kill acne to or no?and the differin gel 0.3% isnt this not as strong drying to dry up pimples as retin a micro 0.1%?
Hi I've recently been using differin gel, but about a week ago I started breaking out bad and decided to take a week long break from the gel to heal my skin. I was wondering if taking a week long break was a good idea or not?
Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...

I have had severe dry eyes since last June, including all the symptoms such as stabbing pains when I wake up. After 2 steroid drops, Sooth XP, Freshtears gel at night, and now finally Restasis and Lotemax, I see no improvment. I have been taking the Restasis for 5 months now. If it was going to work, would it have worked by now? I show no signs of improvment. After spending lots of money that is hard for me to come up with, I am at my wits end. Any other suggestions?
i also wash face with mild cleanser and apply moisturizer, after apply moisturizer on my nose still becomes more oily. I went to see the dermatologist and he given me the differin cream, differin also make my nose oily and did not stop the oil production,which is also not helping, i very hopeless right now. please help with my oily nose.
There are many scrubs and masks on the market which can improve the appearance of blackheads. If they are of limited benefit to you, ask your doctor about Differin gel. This is a topical retinoid which contains Adapalene 0.1%. It works deep into your pores and is effective at clearing both acne and blackheads.

my doctor said u have dry eyes and suggest me ..eyemist gel (hydroxypropyl Methycellulose (hypromellose) ophthalmic gel 0.3%) and artificial tears and for curing redness doctor suggest me Lotepred eye drop(Loteprednol Etabonate Ophthalmic Suspension--0.2%w/v sterile eye drop ) . and protect your eyes from direct Uv rays ..for which i have purchased a sun glasses.

The best way to treat this is with a course of oral antibiotics such as Oxytetracycline to kill acne-causing bacteria. In addition use a topical retinoid cream called Differin (adapalene) which is very good at clearing up the redness and soreness. Use a bland, soap-free cleanser to minimise irritation. I recommend Effaclar or Physiological Cleansing Gel by La Roche-Posay.
Find a more sympathetic doctor. If untreated, acne can cause physical and psychological scars.

You may need in a week or so see if you can switch to Genteal gel at bedtime, not quite as messy. Use high quality tear on awakening and several time throughout the day (Blink, Systane, Soothe XP, Refresh, etc). Try enteric coated fish oil two per day. Start with one with evening meal for two weeks then add second one with breakfast. Note enteric coated.
If after 6-8 weeks you are still using tons of drops see an ophthalmologist aabout going on ReStasis.
The dermatologist gave me Differin Gel, and topical antibiotic cream called Benzclin, and neither of these helped. The doctor at first thought that it was Cellulitis, and put me on Bacitricin, and then Cephalexin, and neither of those helped.
The hard crusty skin seems to grow underneath my cheek, and it stays there for weeks until I can't stand the pain and itching anymore? The crusty skin seems to be super glued into my cheek.

I had my second cataract surgery at the end of Jan. 2011 and was given Soothe XP to use (I have very dry eyes). Looking at the bottle now--couldn't see to read it then--I see that it expires 3/10. I like this drop a LOT. Searching the web, I see that Soothe XP was recalled for all bottles dated 2/11 through 8/12. My questions: 1) Can I still use my bottle labelled 3/10? 2) if not, can you suggest an alternative for very dry eyes with lens replacements?
Use a good cleanser and exfoliating scrub- Estee Lauder make an excellent range. Also see your doctor for a prescription gel which will clear blackheads, Differin is one of the best.
The only other thing that I have done differently from my normal routine is that I began to use Differin Gel 3% on my face only which is why I never thought of it as being the cause of this strange neck rash, but a friend at work said that I should look into this so here I am. Is this possible? I have heard that Differin can be a bit systemic for some.
Hi. See your doctor for a topical retinoid called Differin (adapalene 0.1%). This is very good at dealing with blackheads and acne. Do not try to remove the blackheads by squeezing as this can spread bacteria under the skin causing more breakouts. It can also delay healing and lead to secondary infection.
A good face wash for oily skin is Estee Lauder's Sparkling Clean. Washing alone will not heal acne or blackheads so do ask your doctor about Differin.

Lol! I just started tinkering with Win7 so can't really compare that! I am choosing XP because I am most familar with it. I have Vista on 2 machines, and am slowly getting better with getting around it, but I think from what I have seen that win7 will be better....still have to see what "bugs" come out!!!!
He provided me with some antibiotics and a gel called Differin.. Which is supposed to dry out your pimples and anything else concerning the " acne"..
As I used the differin I did not notice any changes in the rash.. I went back after a while and my doctor decided to give me prednison for a week.. Which did ok.. the rash disappeared only to come back less than a week after finishing the prednison treatment..
