Differin skin cream

Common Questions and Answers about Differin skin cream

differin

Avatar f tn If you think no, then try just using the cream without the antiobiotics. If you are seeing your skin remain clear with just the cream, continue using that. Then you dont have to worry about taking the pills aswell. I think there would be no negative long term effects on your young skin- just remember Differen dries out the skin so keep it moisturised, and always wear sunscreen to keep skin looking young.
Avatar m tn HI, so now I should I stop using differin cream issued by the dermatologist? The differin cream I applied on my face every single night for two months ago is not helping, the doctor said it will help me to clear up my oily nose and blackheads , seem not helping at all.
1632818 tn?1299941302 I clarified that my problem was that my skin was sensitive, sore and feels like its burning after washing, and asked if differin would dry out my skin. She said that while it helped my "acne" it would also help with my eczma and that I should leave it on overnight. She said I should try to stop using my moisturiser too and just use the sunscreen, as this with the differin would be enough. I put my fears aside and trusted her and followed her advice.
Avatar n tn So I thought maybe they were just a patch or dry skin, or skin a rubbed a bit raw when rubbing my eyes at night or something, so I tried applying Differin cream to it with no result. It is not spreading, but it is not going away either. Some have said it's just a mark I got from being overstressed, but i think that really means they have no idea...haha...help?
Avatar f tn Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
Avatar m tn The best way to treat this is with a course of oral antibiotics such as Oxytetracycline to kill acne-causing bacteria. In addition use a topical retinoid cream called Differin (adapalene) which is very good at clearing up the redness and soreness. Use a bland, soap-free cleanser to minimise irritation. I recommend Effaclar or Physiological Cleansing Gel by La Roche-Posay. Find a more sympathetic doctor. If untreated, acne can cause physical and psychological scars.
Avatar n tn The dermatologist gave me Differin Gel, and topical antibiotic cream called Benzclin, and neither of these helped. The doctor at first thought that it was Cellulitis, and put me on Bacitricin, and then Cephalexin, and neither of those helped. The hard crusty skin seems to grow underneath my cheek, and it stays there for weeks until I can't stand the pain and itching anymore? The crusty skin seems to be super glued into my cheek.
Avatar n tn This wound will heal but what kind of mark will be left behind or if at all it will cause a scar really depends on your skin type( determined genetically) and how bad thely the skin has been damaged. It is difficult to ascertain that by just reading about it. Only an examination of the area will reveal the extent of injury. For now, do not apply any thing to your face , only an antiseptic cream on the red area. Try and avoid any type of injury/infection to the site.
Avatar m tn Moisturizers and oatmeal baths sooth the skin. After the skin peels, the healthy skin surfaces and should even out your skin color. If the redness persists, it is best to discuss this with your dermatologist for further evaluation. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar n tn When in the light I notice that on these patches there seems to be a top layer of thin skin. The Differin has subsided my breakouts nicely, but I am still left with these very noticeable red spots all over my face and I am absolutely freaking out. There appears to be no indentation so I would hope this wouldn't be permanent. Is it normal to have such a reaction and if so, how can I help this heal, and how long will it probably take?
Avatar m tn Cleanse the area thoroughly and apply a good mild exfoliating scrub on that.Pat the skin dry and do not rub it vigorously. Apply a medicated cream or gel containing resorcinol, salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. This helps is soaking the oil and helps in peeling away the blackheads. If benzoyl peroxide leaves your skin dry, apply an oil-free moisturizer after 10 mins of applying benzoyl peroxide.
Avatar f tn He provided me with some antibiotics and a gel called Differin.. Which is supposed to dry out your pimples and anything else concerning the " acne".. As I used the differin I did not notice any changes in the rash.. I went back after a while and my doctor decided to give me prednison for a week.. Which did ok.. the rash disappeared only to come back less than a week after finishing the prednison treatment..
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been using differin every alternate nights for 3 months without problems. But just last sun, I rubbed some onto my eyelids and facial rashes started to explode. They were not itchy at first but started to spread and becoming very itchy. My Gp said its contact dermatitis. But how could it be as I have been using it for 3 months? I put hydrocortisone cream on them but nothing seems to subside. Now my whole face is covered with itchy swell rashes. What should I do?
Avatar n tn What would make somone all of the sudden develop such bad skin if they never had bad skin before. I try everything, from washing my face, using acne creams, acne washes, etc, but nothing stops the oil or the pimples. Help.
Avatar n tn The only other thing that I have done differently from my normal routine is that I began to use Differin Gel 3% on my face only which is why I never thought of it as being the cause of this strange neck rash, but a friend at work said that I should look into this so here I am. Is this possible? I have heard that Differin can be a bit systemic for some.
Avatar m tn have you tried differin its a topical medicine, but its the only thing that did work for me. the doctor perscribed it for me.. and it really works.. the eating healthy thing doesnt work. im really active and eat healthy, but i sweat pretty bad and i get pimples anyways. the natural sometimes wont work. you can also go to walmart and get the face wash called seabreeze. i think thats how its spelled but its the best kind of acne medicine and its the most natural.
Avatar m tn t forget that even though you suffer from acne which is usually from very oily skin, the dry areas still need moisterising and the skin needs protecting from winds. When you shave, make sure (no doubt you do anyway) that you shave down in the direction the hair is growing. In fact there is an acne video on this site that may be of help to you. Personally though I think that the sore skin with the little bumps underneath is either bacterial or fungal.
Avatar n tn We have asked her about EVERYTHING in the house and she said she has not put anything on her face or used a different soap. She has very sensitive skin and has keratosis. She uses Differin cream but it has never caused her face to look like this.
Avatar f tn Hi I've recently been using differin gel, but about a week ago I started breaking out bad and decided to take a week long break from the gel to heal my skin. I was wondering if taking a week long break was a good idea or not?

Avatar m tn It is very effective and well tolerated with few side effects such as peeling or dryness. Differin contains 0.1% adapalene which is effective against the abnormal skin processes associated with acne. It will relieve the inflammation, soreness and irritation you feel. Acne is caused when androgens (hormones) stimulate the sebaceous (oil) glands. It commonly occurs on the chin as the T-zone is likely to be more oily than other areas. Eloise.
Avatar n tn I MAKE SURE to take really good care of my skin but it dosent seem to work. Also i have a prescription face medication cream called BenzaClin which is 1% clindamycin and 5% Benzoyl peroxide.
