He gave me differin and it worked ok.While i was using the differin i was working all summer long outside and usually wore a hat.Well two years later ever since my forehead is my natural skin color which is pale.The rest of my face is very red.I have very oily skin and my skin breaksout if i put lotion or toners on it usually.Is there any advise on how to get my skin to even out and get this redness to go away.Please help.
he put me on oracea 40mg once a day and differin gel 0.3%....i was reading the paper that comes with oracea~doxycycline and it says it doesnt kill bacteria now im getting worried because minocycline does kill bacteria now im worried i will break out more from the oracea.it says its for rosacea but doest oracea work to kill acne to or no?and the differin gel 0.3% isnt this not as strong drying to dry up pimples as retin a micro 0.1%?
The best topical lotion in my opinion is Differin. It can be as effective as topical Isotretinoin but is usually much better tolerated, with little or no redness and peeling.
It is even more effective when used in conjunction with oral antibiotics.

I recently (1 month maybe) got this interesting patch of small bumps and redness just under the outer corner of my left eye. It's about the size of a dime, and pretty much came from nowhere. It is not painful, and doesn't ooze or anything. I thought perhaps they were small clogged pores, but when pressed on, nothing came out.
Hello I am 23 Yrs Old , I am suffering from redness of nose and in an around places from last 10 yrs. When I consulted with the doctor they are saying that it is just an acne. But till date I didnt get ride of this problem. And also it has not yet cured. I dont know what to do,whom to consult,what to eat and what not to eat?.
My skin is of oily type in and around the nose and and rest of skin i guess it is dry.

I started using Differin in May, but I now realize Differin also contains Adapalene. Should I be worried about sun exposure while using Differin/adapaline? I noticed the container says not to use it on sunburns, but nothing about not using it in the sun.
I use the cream at night, but I also realize that it's a long term treatment... and as such just because I use it at night, does not mean the sensitivity is gone in the morning/day.

Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
I'm 18 years old. I had some acne on my face and I'm having a hard time get rid of it. (they are black spots). I went to visit my dad and when he notice my situation he gave me a scrub called GRASSROOTS SCRUB. The first time I used it it peeled the patch of the black spots off but it turn it into something just like a scrap where the redness is exposed. It has been 5 days since then, I've put special cream on the wound but it doesnt seems to be going away!!!!!
i also wash face with mild cleanser and apply moisturizer, after apply moisturizer on my nose still becomes more oily. I went to see the dermatologist and he given me the differin cream, differin also make my nose oily and did not stop the oil production,which is also not helping, i very hopeless right now. please help with my oily nose.
I messed with it a little bit, and the next day it had swollen up and was warm, like an infection. Since then, I have been using Abreva and Differin on it. The Differin makes the largest difference – it reduces the size significantly.

Hi, I have been using differin every alternate nights for 3 months without problems. But just last sun, I rubbed some onto my eyelids and facial rashes started to explode. They were not itchy at first but started to spread and becoming very itchy. My Gp said its contact dermatitis. But how could it be as I have been using it for 3 months? I put hydrocortisone cream on them but nothing seems to subside. Now my whole face is covered with itchy swell rashes. What should I do?
The only other thing that I have done differently from my normal routine is that I began to use Differin Gel 3% on my face only which is why I never thought of it as being the cause of this strange neck rash, but a friend at work said that I should look into this so here I am. Is this possible? I have heard that Differin can be a bit systemic for some.
Three months ago the dermatitis came back, I was not using any steriod cream at the time, but I believe it flared because of a new concealer I was using to cover a little redness around my nose. So now it is back worst than I can remember with the first outbreak, it has spread to my forehead and cheeks. It is leaving alot of brown spots where the large cysts have appeared.
have you tried differin its a topical medicine, but its the only thing that did work for me. the doctor perscribed it for me.. and it really works.. the eating healthy thing doesnt work. im really active and eat healthy, but i sweat pretty bad and i get pimples anyways. the natural sometimes wont work. you can also go to walmart and get the face wash called seabreeze. i think thats how its spelled but its the best kind of acne medicine and its the most natural.
The dermatologist gave me Differin Gel, and topical antibiotic cream called Benzclin, and neither of these helped. The doctor at first thought that it was Cellulitis, and put me on Bacitricin, and then Cephalexin, and neither of those helped.
The hard crusty skin seems to grow underneath my cheek, and it stays there for weeks until I can't stand the pain and itching anymore? The crusty skin seems to be super glued into my cheek.
the day after (yesterday) i had some redness on my penis head. it feels dry and a bit rough, but there is no itching or anything. My foreskin also seems very dry, and had a little bit of pain with it yesterday. the dryness on my head i have seen before after sex, but not for a long time.. this doesnt seem to occur every time..

It appears in circular format in front of my ears(which is quite defined by the redness) and then an even redness on my cheeks, and also my my neck goes really quite red (again in a larger circular patch on either side running down from my jaw bone to just above my collar bone).
Could it be something to do with hormones?
