differin

Avatar m tn I got the sunburn about 2 years ago. My face has been red ever since. Its almost as if it stained my skin red. When i eat my face gets even more red, When i shower my skin is ok immediately after maybe a tad dry, but about 2 hours later it is VERY oily,My skin was always pale, but after the sunburn from under my eyes to my chin is very red. My neck is tan but my face has never tanned good , it just burns .... What would you reccomend as a good moisturizer?.
1632818 tn?1299941302 The cetaphil was fine, but the differin stung my face a bit at first. The doctor said it would take a while to get used to so I kept using it. Each day it got worse until today, when it was excruciating. My face was red and burning, it felt and looked like I had terrible sunburn all over my cheeks and in patches of my forehead. I washed my face and slathered it with the sunscreen that is usually soothing, but it stung this time.
Avatar n tn The Differin has subsided my breakouts nicely, but I am still left with these very noticeable red spots all over my face and I am absolutely freaking out. There appears to be no indentation so I would hope this wouldn't be permanent. Is it normal to have such a reaction and if so, how can I help this heal, and how long will it probably take? By the way, I stopped applying the Differin when I got the reaction. Thanks.
Avatar n tn My 8yr old daughter woke up this morning with red marks on her face. There is a little spot(about the size of a dime) beside her eye. Then on her other cheek it is alot larger and goes downward, not really near the eye either. At first I thought it looked like a road burn, like falling off a bike. She has not fallen or hit her face on anything. It kind of looks like a chemical burn or reaction.
Avatar m tn Also avoid using any lotions and creams over the face for the meantime. Wash your face with a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Pat your face dry. Avatar m tn I messed with it a little bit, and the next day it had swollen up and was warm, like an infection. Since then, I have been using Abreva and Differin on it. The Differin makes the largest difference – it reduces the size significantly. When it first showed up, it looked a lot like this picture: http://www.adamjbc.f2s.com/dlc/test/Photo-0171.jpg. It no longer has a white tip, and there are two small bumps (neither red nor painful) below it.
Avatar f tn Dear doctor! How long can I use Differin (adaferin, adapalene)?
Avatar m tn HI, so now I should I stop using differin cream issued by the dermatologist? The differin cream I applied on my face every single night for two months ago is not helping, the doctor said it will help me to clear up my oily nose and blackheads , seem not helping at all.
Avatar n tn Hi... Im getting really frustrated with my face breakouts lately. Ive never had a problem with pimples before but now my chin keeps breaking out. The pimples i keep getting are cystic acne. They hurt really bad and nothing helps them go away. This is currently what i use on my face: Face wash with .5% salicylic acid and another facewash with 3.5% benzoyl peroxide. I MAKE SURE to take really good care of my skin but it dosent seem to work.
Avatar n tn I'm 18 years old. I had some acne on my face and I'm having a hard time get rid of it. (they are black spots). I went to visit my dad and when he notice my situation he gave me a scrub called GRASSROOTS SCRUB. The first time I used it it peeled the patch of the black spots off but it turn it into something just like a scrap where the redness is exposed. It has been 5 days since then, I've put special cream on the wound but it doesnt seems to be going away!!!!!
Avatar n tn I got Differin from the doctor and used it for 6 months with no results. Is he to young to start to serious ritual? He is adopted and his birth mom has very serious acne. He is very worried about all these pimples. He started getting them at nine. The doctor told me they aren't really acne but I forgot what he called them so I could look them up.
Avatar n tn The only other thing that I have done differently from my normal routine is that I began to use Differin Gel 3% on my face only which is why I never thought of it as being the cause of this strange neck rash, but a friend at work said that I should look into this so here I am. Is this possible? I have heard that Differin can be a bit systemic for some.
Avatar m tn I have had acne red marks, not scars, that just won't go away. I've had them for about 2 years now and have tried products such as Differin & Atralin with no avail. Is there any other solution? Thank you, Doctors!
Avatar f tn He provided me with some antibiotics and a gel called Differin.. Which is supposed to dry out your pimples and anything else concerning the " acne".. As I used the differin I did not notice any changes in the rash.. I went back after a while and my doctor decided to give me prednison for a week.. Which did ok.. the rash disappeared only to come back less than a week after finishing the prednison treatment..
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been using differin every alternate nights for 3 months without problems. But just last sun, I rubbed some onto my eyelids and facial rashes started to explode. They were not itchy at first but started to spread and becoming very itchy. My Gp said its contact dermatitis. But how could it be as I have been using it for 3 months? I put hydrocortisone cream on them but nothing seems to subside. Now my whole face is covered with itchy swell rashes. What should I do?
Avatar n tn i was curious how to tell if a new face wash is right for your skin. the first couple of days made my skin better, but now i seem to have a couple more zits formed, and my skin seems oilier. i dont know if its because its drawing out all of the impurities, or if its not right for my sensitive skin. how long should i keep using it for also? just in case it is right, i dont want to give up too soon. thanks.
Avatar n tn At the same time this rash appeared (which first looked like a horrible Cystic pimple) I also had a Levulan treatment done on my face, and the person performing this used a very high setting, which left my face very burned, and peeling for a week. The rash is extremely painful, and creates linear hard crusty things under my skin, which then become infected. I do have a little one above my left eyebrow, and you can see a hard white line under my skin.
Avatar m tn An amount of lotion the size of a pea should be enough to cover most of your face. If your skin becomes red or peels, you are using too much of the medicine or applying it too often. Avatar f tn Extremely sensitive skin- adverse reactions to salicylic acid and anything higher than a 2% benzoyl peroxide. Have tried differin, retin-a, duac, also natural solutions such as tea tree oil, lemon, honey, coconut, eggs, yogurt, witch hazel. Also have tried systems such as proactiv and muriad to no avail. Have completely overhauled my diet- hardly any sugar, no white/ refined starches, very little dairy, no red meat, lots of veggies, lots of water. No caffine, little to no alcohol.
Avatar n tn i can squeeze them out relatively easy but their are at least a hundred of them on my face. i have tried many difference face washes and the dirty pores dont ever go away. i was considering getting an igea sucker to suck them all out but i want to know if anyone else had this problem.
Avatar f tn i have extremely oily skin and i think its because i use my acne medications such as differin and duac but even though i wash my face 3 times a daii it is still oily and its worse during parties because i cant wash my face then..? wat should i doo..any herbal remedies as well?
Avatar m tn I have been searching all over the internet and I can't find anyone with the same condition as me. It has started 2 years ago, small pimples and inflammation in my crease of nose and on chin. At this time it was not noticeable but has kept spreading since. It's near my nostril, chin and mouth. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/713/photoon20130226at737pm2.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/163/photoon20130226at737pm.
Avatar m tn I have done some research because I am suffering from the same thing. I have found out that these kinds of breakouts on the chin and around the mouth are usually associated with hormone imbalances (this may explain why they come once a month...). I have begun to take herbal remedies to balance my hormones (Vitex Agnus Castus and ****-Quai-- be aware though that most hormone-affecting medicationmay neutralize the effect of brith control!!
Avatar m tn I started using Differin in May, but I now realize Differin also contains Adapalene. Should I be worried about sun exposure while using Differin/adapaline? I noticed the container says not to use it on sunburns, but nothing about not using it in the sun. I use the cream at night, but I also realize that it's a long term treatment... and as such just because I use it at night, does not mean the sensitivity is gone in the morning/day.

Avatar f tn Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
