Since I turned 25, I started getting pimples here and there. The acne worsened throughout the year into cystic acne on the cheeks when I moved overseas. I lived overseas for a year, then moved back to the states, where all my acne disappeared for two months. It returned again slowly, starting out with a small rash (which went away with Desonide Cream .05%), then milia/whiteheads all over my cheeks, and then red pimples with white pus spreading from my cheeks to my chin now.
He started me with acanya and then gave epiduo a try (acne became bad on my forehead). Went back to him and he prescribed me epiduo with solodyn. After a few weeks i had tiny red spots on my face and huge pimples. I tried proactive as well and that didnt work. After that i told him the situation over the phone and he said to continue the solodyn with epiduo. i did for another month and nothing happened. He now switced me to cephalaxin and i have been on it for about three days.
After almost a year and a half of using it, however, I started getting the above mentioned itchy pimple problem and was also left with noticeably red and flaky skin all over my nose and on many portions of my forehead. Even after stopping the treatment, however, the itchy pimples, red/flaky/oily/whitehead-filled skin persist! The multiple dermatologists I’ve seen for this problem have diagnosed me with either Rosacea and/or seborrheic dermatitis.
I was just wondering if the cause of this was the Epiduo because I do apply it by my nose and on my cheeks around the under eye area(under the eye bag area, around it), and if so what should I do, should I try to apply it farther away from the under eye area because it is migrating over to that area? I was also wondering if these under eye bags were permanent? I also don't moisturize my under eye area or my face would that get rid of the under eye bag?
Im not a doctor, however i have taken Differin and i would advise taking it constantly until the prescription runs out. Once it runs out, assess your skin- do you really need to keep taking it?? If this answer is a yes, refill the prescription and keep taking the Differin(In relation to taking it "permanently", i recommend doing this self- assessment everytime you fill the prescription, no matter how long you have been using it).
he put me on oracea 40mg once a day and differin gel 0.3%....i was reading the paper that comes with oracea~doxycycline and it says it doesnt kill bacteria now im getting worried because minocycline does kill bacteria now im worried i will break out more from the oracea.it says its for rosacea but doest oracea work to kill acne to or no?and the differin gel 0.3% isnt this not as strong drying to dry up pimples as retin a micro 0.1%?
Three and a half years ago i used Epiduo on my forehead, temples and nose. I did expose to 45 mins of morning sun without spf.
My skin turned red, then brown. The inflamation/irritation still persists. I can feel the skin thicker (like inflamed skin feels like) when i raise my eyebrows. The area looks brown. It becomes more red when i touch it.
Texture on those areas is different and the skin is a little raised.
Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
I've had this one bump beside my lip for almost a month now. This is the first time I got it. The bump used to be bigger. I tried popping it once (only blood came out) then it became smaller (current size). It doesn't hurt even if i press on it, nor fluctuates in size, nor itches, it's just there. I also tried putting on epiduo on it just to make sure if it's a pimple, but it didnt make a difference.
He gave me differin and it worked ok.While i was using the differin i was working all summer long outside and usually wore a hat.Well two years later ever since my forehead is my natural skin color which is pale.The rest of my face is very red.I have very oily skin and my skin breaksout if i put lotion or toners on it usually.Is there any advise on how to get my skin to even out and get this redness to go away.Please help.
i also wash face with mild cleanser and apply moisturizer, after apply moisturizer on my nose still becomes more oily. I went to see the dermatologist and he given me the differin cream, differin also make my nose oily and did not stop the oil production,which is also not helping, i very hopeless right now. please help with my oily nose.
I had gone to the dermatologist for acne issues and she gave me epiduo and a skin bleaching cream for dark spots that the pimples can cause afterwards. I had gotten pimples on my upper lip and instead of putting skin cream on the spot I put it on my whole lip and I think that made it worse cuz I did it almost everyday.
I messed with it a little bit, and the next day it had swollen up and was warm, like an infection. Since then, I have been using Abreva and Differin on it. The Differin makes the largest difference – it reduces the size significantly.

Hi I've recently been using differin gel, but about a week ago I started breaking out bad and decided to take a week long break from the gel to heal my skin. I was wondering if taking a week long break was a good idea or not?

Every so often, my eyelids will be come extremely dry. I first knew something was wrong when I noticed that when I rubbed my eyes, even slightly, little pieces of skin would come off of my top eyelid. This happened when I was putting on my makeup. Hi, I have been using differin every alternate nights for 3 months without problems. But just last sun, I rubbed some onto my eyelids and facial rashes started to explode. They were not itchy at first but started to spread and becoming very itchy. My Gp said its contact dermatitis. But how could it be as I have been using it for 3 months? I put hydrocortisone cream on them but nothing seems to subside. Now my whole face is covered with itchy swell rashes. What should I do?
well it did not happen, the next day it became a blister and all of them look twice as big and it was crusting...by the next day it was crusting and oozing out honey colored liquid and forming a very dark scab and really swollen.and my lower lip closest to the acne is very itchy and had small little blister infact my whole lower lip was very itchy so i decided to go to ER... to my horror the Dr. on duty told me that i have facial impetigo..... This past weekend, I woke up with what looks like an acne breakout on my inner thigh and some swelling and little bumps on my scrotum, only on the left side. I applied cetaphil oil control foam wash to it and only the first night, epiduo forte to it. Since then the what seems like an acne breakout is slowly going away and the bumps and swelling on the left side of my scrotum is what to me seems like it is gone.
