Avatar f tn I’ve been using prescription strength differin gel for acne for many years, and would like to add a retinol moisturizer to my skincare routine for anti-aging benefits. Would like to know if the combination is safe?

Avatar n tn Take failures as learning lessons and build on it. Look at both sides, bad and good, and try to begin and end the day with a positive. Do something meaningful for yourself and others. Don't bury yourself in a pre-made coffin lined with regrets, negativity, sourness, pessismism and narrowness, because it makes other people not want to be around you all the time and it makes you miserable. Don't listen to the depression. Take the help and support.
Avatar n tn Is it normal to have such a reaction and if so, how can I help this heal, and how long will it probably take? By the way, I stopped applying the Differin when I got the reaction. Thanks.
1632818 tn?1299941302 She told me to buy some cetaphil cleanser and gave me a sample, and then she prescribed me differin which she said was for my "acne". I found this strange since I only had one pimple on my chin, and that's about as bad as it ever gets (and I wasn't bothered by having a pimple). I clarified that my problem was that my skin was sensitive, sore and feels like its burning after washing, and asked if differin would dry out my skin.
Avatar f tn What vitamins can I take to prevent aging? Exclusively the face and neck areas. If there is not a vitamin, can herbs help and what kind? Any Natural Preventions?
Avatar f tn Im not a doctor, however i have taken Differin and i would advise taking it constantly until the prescription runs out. Once it runs out, assess your skin- do you really need to keep taking it?? If this answer is a yes, refill the prescription and keep taking the Differin(In relation to taking it "permanently", i recommend doing this self- assessment everytime you fill the prescription, no matter how long you have been using it).
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if a handheld LED/Ultrasound device used for skin anti-aging purposes would affect the thyroid if used over the neck, if there is a diagnosis of hypo OR hyperthyroidism? Thank you.
Avatar n tn well it did not happen, the next day it became a blister and all of them look twice as big and it was crusting...by the next day it was crusting and oozing out honey colored liquid and forming a very dark scab and really swollen.and my lower lip closest to the acne is very itchy and had small little blister infact my whole lower lip was very itchy so i decided to go to ER... to my horror the Dr. on duty told me that i have facial impetigo..... (by the way the day i came to the dr.
Avatar f tn Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
Avatar f tn Go to ulta and talk to their estheticians for a professional recommendation. While pregnant do stay away from retinols which are anti aging. They can cause birth defects. But look for something that has hyaluronic acid in it which is a natural chemical our body makes which helps retains moisture by 1000x its weight. So it is super hydrating which will help reduce and prevent wrinkles.
Avatar n tn My son has lots of allergies and he has eczema really bad and we were using prescription creams and they were discoloring his skin and we started using arbonne and it made a world of difference amazing results and best part is no skin discoloration!
Avatar f tn Before using any serum, I'd check with your doctor to see what they recommend. Has your doctor given you any advice on what you can do to treat the alopecia and fast aging?
Avatar n tn Hello, Do not use any alpha hydroxy acid products (those containing glycolic or lactic acid), salicylic acid products, retinoids (Retin A, Renova, Differin and Tazorac) and other topical acne medications such as benzoyl peroxide for 72 hours after the treatment. Also any scarubbing or acne soaps should be avoided for atleast 1 week after the miscrodermabrasion procedure.
Avatar n tn I suggest the use of products that are hypoallergenic and also with organic ingredients such as vitamin C and E. Anti aging products may also be beneficial especially for women with fine lines and wrinkles. A healthy diet, decrease intake of fatty food, cessation of smoking, adequate sleep and daily exercise will ensure not just great skin but also a healthy body in general.
Avatar n tn Incidentally, I think that the field does a disservice to those living with the disease not to have discussions on this topic, I know that my sister and her family feel so isolated and alone about it and even her prominent, NYC neurologist will not talk about it. Thanks very much.
1713150 tn?1314467342 No no no no no! Where did you get that idea? You are aging because everyone is aging. Consider the alternative. But those with MS are not aging faster or slower than anyone else. You are 28, and you should look like 28. Don't smoke, take care of your skin and hair, keep fit and a good weight, and you will look your age or maybe younger for a long time. MS has nothing to do with aging. We will likely live as long as anyone else.
Avatar m tn He gave me differin and it worked ok.While i was using the differin i was working all summer long outside and usually wore a hat.Well two years later ever since my forehead is my natural skin color which is pale. The rest of my face is very red.I have very oily skin and my skin breaksout if i put lotion or toners on it usually. Is there any advise on how to get my skin to even out and get this redness to go away. Please help.
1028452 tn?1537448484 The most consistent, enthusiastic exercisers are those who do activities they like, whether it’s dancing, hiking or aqua aerobics. Exercise has a strong, anti-aging effect on cells’ DNA. It influences telomeres, “caps” at the ends of DNA strands, kind of like the tips on shoelaces, which protect chromosomes from destruction. Telomeres shorten progressively over time, leading to cellular damage due to the inability of the cell to duplicate itself correctly.
Avatar m tn you can take her and have her checked out they will do memory test and can tell you what they think.
5245560 tn?1365525838 m right there with you in years and have to always stop and ask what is due to my MS and what is age related? I'm sure you find yourself doing the same. Chronic shingles? Oh my - that is tough since we can't take the vaccine (or shouldn't). Are your flares timed to sort of match those outbreaks? That might be a big clue to share with your neurologist.
Avatar m tn i also wash face with mild cleanser and apply moisturizer, after apply moisturizer on my nose still becomes more oily. I went to see the dermatologist and he given me the differin cream, differin also make my nose oily and did not stop the oil production, which is also not helping, i very hopeless right now. please help with my oily nose.
Avatar n tn i have large pores on my nose and cheeks and the areas in between that look almost like blackheads but not as solid because its just dirty oil. i can squeeze them out relatively easy but their are at least a hundred of them on my face. i have tried many difference face washes and the dirty pores dont ever go away. i was considering getting an igea sucker to suck them all out but i want to know if anyone else had this problem.
Avatar m tn Since I turned 25, I started getting pimples here and there. The acne worsened throughout the year into cystic acne on the cheeks when I moved overseas. I lived overseas for a year, then moved back to the states, where all my acne disappeared for two months. It returned again slowly, starting out with a small rash (which went away with Desonide Cream .05%), then milia/whiteheads all over my cheeks, and then red pimples with white pus spreading from my cheeks to my chin now.
