xopenex

Avatar n tn My son had been diagnosed with pneumonia 4 times in the past four months, as well as bronchiolitis in between. He has been treated with Rocephin, Azithromycin, and Amoxil. He has breathing treatments 4 times a day (pulmicort & xopenex) has had 2 episodes of cyanosis, and been hospitalized for low oxygen satuation, wheezing etc. His pediatrician tells me I shouldn't panic and that he has asthma. He is only 13 mos old!
327369 tn?1326119908 P.S. Our meds are Xopenex, Pulmicort..........these do not work during a cold and we always end up on Orapred (steriod). He has to have it though...........but we are on this a lot -----do you worry about the side effects of this if you have a child. Thanks!
Avatar n tn The doctors have put my 4 year old on xopenex and pulmicort via nebulizer. they said that is the best one for him, he has a complicated history. You really need to seek a 2nd opinion, and that is just my opinion. from everything that my little guy has been through I always maek sure that I also have a copy of his medical reports that way there if you go for a second opinion, then you have all of that stuff and you can be prepared. to ask questions or whatever.
Avatar f tn He said that he must have gotten some sort of virus and it triggered his asthma. He told me to continue his Singulair, Pulmicort Respules one time a day, Xopenex in the nebulizer every four hours, and he prescribed Prednisone two times per day (dr. said to start the steroid only if the cough does not slow down). So on Wednesday morning, my son woke up at 6:30am coughing non-stop....coughing so much that he vomited!
Avatar n tn However, my son has been on other medications for sinisitis and bronchitis that could account for a headache. He now off of pulmicort, xopenex and nasonex. He is currently going through allergy testing as well. It is very difficult for me to try to determine the cause of the headache with so much going on with him. He is feeling completely better aside from this headache.
Avatar f tn Dec09 I was diagnosed with prinzmetal angina. I am on a channel blocker called procardia and nitro. Also pulmicort and albuterol. The pollen has been so high and I discovered a mold problem in my house. I have been using my rescue inhaler more, and the spasms in my chest are more frequent. Is it related? This discussion is related to <a href='/posts/show/206196'>Allergies and Epstein Barr Virus</a>.
Avatar n tn He takes Singulair daily and takes Pulmicort and Xopenex as needed via nebulizer when he starts to show signs of coughing. My husband and I went to his parent-teacher conference yesterday - for pre-school - and we were advised by his team (speech therapist, psychologist, etc.) that we should discuss his behavior with our pediatrician. The other item that kept coming up was his attention span. Most of his intellectual skills - cutting, drawing, writing, etc - were up to par.
Avatar f tn My son's teacher just informed me that my son is having trouble completing his work. Not that he can't do it, but he is either talking or daydreaming. He is often easily distracted. She said this has been going on for about a month. Some days are better than others. He is at a new school, but has similar problems at his old school. They give him time do his work and he will either talk to other or just sit there. He does exhibit this behavior at home sometime while doing homework.
Avatar f tn he takes nebulizer treatments on a daily basis, pulmicort and if needed, xopenex, he cardiac issues, asthma and narrowing if his throat. he has been on these medications since he was 5 weeks old. today while he was at school he was very short of breath and not wheezing but could feel that junkie **** in his lungs, so they gave him a treatment, as they gave him his treatment his eyes rolled tothe back of his head and started to flutter, the person said this can happen during an asthma attack.
Avatar n tn t become short of breath or wheeze, she does respond to asthma medications like pulmicort and xopenex (she had paradoxical bronchospasm to albuterol--very scary!) Needless to say I've done some reading on varient cough asthma and it sounds like she fits the bill. To make a long story even longer, it seems she gets leg cramps right before a coughing episode, in fact, I can almost predict an attack by when she tells me her legs are cramping. Why is this?
Avatar f tn Last winter she starting having symptoms again which was a usually a cough that led to respiratory infection. If we caught the cough early enough with her inhaler (xopenex) and allergy med (zyrtec) we could avoid the infections. We made it all summer with no problems or use of meds. In August she started again with a cough so we started the Zyrtec and Xopenex again. Her Dr said if we had to use the inhaler more than 3 days/week to bring her in for an appointment.
Avatar n tn I take it you are talking about the xopenex ampules and not the xopenex spray? If its the spray then there might be something that can be given to him that is not as strong. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn hi, my question is can we mix albuterol, ipratropium, pulmacort together and the order is give these medication together by nebulizer.
205269 tn?1395534274 has tried just about every allergy medication possible like nasonex, patanase, singulair, xopenex, pulmicort, and albuterol. All of these had very little effect on him. A few days ago he had a serial dilution titration test and it showed to be positive for a number of things like: alternaria, aspergillus, cephalosporium, helminthosporum, cockroach, mite DF, mite DP, and the one thing that stuck out to me because, I don't really know what it is is candida. We are supposed to see the dr.
5037123 tn?1362663006 After 3 doses I began getting back pain between my shoulder blades. Not sure if it was from the Advair I took another dose and the pain got worse. I contacted my doctor and he changed me to Symbicort. I had no problem for 3 days, but after today's dose the back pain is back. Is this typical or am I doing something wrong when inhaling. I believe I'm following the instructions, including rinsing my mouth after using. Is there a pill I can take instead?
Avatar n tn m on Immune Globulin SC weekly infusions at home for life, tobrimycin nebulized 28 days on, followed by 28 days off for the pseudo, and perforomist, budesonide (pulmicort), xopenex prn nebulized,, plus 600mg. theophylline, daily. I have had to partially retire from working at the hospital, and work only flex-when I'm well enough and they need me. Of course I wouldn't work on a Med. Surg. floor due to risk of infection (I've been a psych.
Avatar n tn I was recently diagnosed with COPD. I am using oxygen in addition to a Nebulizer four times per day. The oxygen is very helpful, but the use of the Nebulizer has made me feel worse. I develop a very rapid heart rate with the first use of the day along with extreme weakness. I don't feel well all day because I can't recover from the pounding heart rate and weakness before another session with Nebulizer is due. The two medications used in the Nebulizer are: Xopenx 1.
454286 tn?1205883067 Have your child sweat tested...In the meantime be generous with bronchodilatators(Albuterol or Xopenex- if your insurance covers). You need a nebulizer machine(no 4 year old can do "puffer" effectively). If that doesn't control the asthma add Pulmicort(also through nebul.machine)...and put your kid on a diet(decrease sugar and fat...stop buying things they snack in between meals....that is where most of the calories are from).Remember...it is not just what you eat but how you eat.
Avatar f tn also breaks it down, TOBI for my pseudomonas (if you culture pseudo, this might be a good drug for you, it is a nebulized form of tobramycin, I rotate 28 days on and 28 days off..it does a fairly good job at keeping my pseudo at bay) as well as pulmicort and Xopenex. Lots of nebs....I used to use mucomyst nebs but I found them to be too irritating and caused my airways to spasm even though I used Xopenex with the nebs. About your initial post...
Avatar n tn I am 32 and have suffered from migraines for about 3 years. They started pretty much out of the blue, however, a lot of people in my family suffer from them. I have tried nortriptaline, amitriptaline, verapamil, all without success. The first two didn't do anything for my migraines, and the verapamil made my blood pressure so low I couldn't function.
197575 tn?1215532624 Is there a difference between a complex nodule and a complex cystic nodule? I know complex means both solid and cystic. My friend's ultrasound call it a complex cystic nodule. Thanks.
1315759 tn?1274044788 the last time i went to the hospital, the therapist gave me atrovent and xopenex, with 4 doses in one. i told them it was making me too jittery, way more than normal and nobody listened. instead of getting better, it was staying the same and making me feel out of control. how can i get my doctor to prescribe me a pulse ox for at home? i am on medicad and medicare and i am sure that if he prescribed it to me, that they would let me have one.
Avatar f tn We got rid of the cat and have been through some really rough times with her asthma. During a cold was when it was worst. here I am 1 year later and my daughter takes pulmicort 1 time a day and 2 times a day when sick. She is exellent- cant even tell she has asthma. Pulmicort is 100 times safer than prednislone and albuterol.
746512 tn?1388807580 t want to take my rescue inhaler all the time because it gives me wicked muscle cramps and makes me loopy and really tired. I also take 400umg of pulmicort twice a day. Is there anything I should do; call my doctor, up my pulmicort dose or just wait the weather out? Thanks for the input.
Avatar n tn I was told to take her to a pulmonologist who started her on 7 days of prednisone. She is also on pulmicort and albutoral inhalers. He had given her a breathing test that she scored very low on. After the week of prednisone she still scored low on the breathing test and did not feel any better. Is it possible that the mycroplasma never went away and is still causing her breathing problems. Why don't they do a second blood test to make sure that the mycroplasma is all gone.
Avatar m tn Do this anulom vilom (pranayam) morning and evening, and you will not need anything at night.Come back with your feedback so others can benefit. Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
