Avatar f tn Varicose veins are painful, I would mention it to your doc as they will be able to tell the difference between them and blood clots, I'm nlt sure that blood clots are usually visible, but you are def better to get them checked out. There are treatments for varicose veins in injection form which really hell, but I'm not sure if that could be done while you are pregmant. Your doc will be able to advise best.

Avatar n tn If you have such a problem, it is better to be cautious about your diet and exercise. Such veins can cause venous pooling, slowing of blood and clot formation. Veins and their problems need special care. Hence consult a vascular surgeon once. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Avatar f tn I have been looking into this a lot myself and found out about spider veins and varicose veins and I think that is what they are. I have just begun a new birth control pill after some problems with my hormone levels and am also on the end of my recent period - could this be causing it? I read that it can if you are on the pill and have imbalanced hormones - such as being pregnant or on your period. Will they fade or disappear when my hormone levels are balanced?

2020005 tn?1628125976 You can get clots. I thought i had one and they did a ultrasound on my leg. The symptoms of a clot however are hot to touch spot on leg, the leg would be noticeably more swollen than the other, and there would be pain in the leg. However, varicose veins can hurt too. I wouldn't worry just have your Dr. look at it. If your leg gets really swollen or starts to have pain call your Dr.
Avatar m tn I had an extremely serious case of varicose veins. On the inner sie of each ankle was a sack of blackish stagnant blood, a horror to look at. The skin was thinning and close to rupturing. At some point I adding liquid trace minerals to my drinking water, with no purpose in mind other than adding to my general health. I put one tablespoon in each gallon of filtered water. I also added 16 drops of BioSil.
Avatar n tn 2mm), raised, red bulging spot on my glans that looks like it is filled with blood, from a scrape or scratch when I was very young. Last year I had sclerosing of varicose veins in my leg, which worked very well. This is purely a vanity question -- might this glans blood spot, not really a vein I'm sure, be amenable to injection with a sclerosing solution (sclerotherapy) to shrink it, or would the risk outweigh the cosmetic benefit?
237039 tn?1264258057 I think Coumadin is more effective in preventing blood from congealing in veins, and Plavix is more effective in preventing blood from clotting in arteries. The discussion went over my head after that. I'm sorry to learn about the TIA's Chatty. I know you have had some issues with your vision because of small vessel disease. Why can't you take aspirin?

Avatar f tn If your brother-in-law has varicose veins and is on his feet all day, he could have developed a blood clot. In the absence of a wound causing infection and fever, that's my best guess. A blood clot can be just as dangerous as an infection because pieces can break off and go anywhere in the body like the brain, heart or lungs and result in a fast death. Your brother-in-law MUST see a doctor as soon as possible. I can't tell you how foolish it is for him to ignore this problem.
