symbicort

5037123 tn?1362663006 After 3 doses I began getting back pain between my shoulder blades. Not sure if it was from the Advair I took another dose and the pain got worse. I contacted my doctor and he changed me to Symbicort. I had no problem for 3 days, but after today's dose the back pain is back. Is this typical or am I doing something wrong when inhaling. I believe I'm following the instructions, including rinsing my mouth after using. Is there a pill I can take instead?
Avatar f tn i got put on pulmicort and foradil that did wonders for me and last month i got put on symbicort which is a combo of the pulmicort and foradil. Maybe symbicort would not cause you these symptoms?
Avatar f tn I'm bad, I've used pulmicort since last march and now on symbicort and I never rinse out my mouth and haven't had any problems. It all depends on the person I guess.
746512 tn?1388807580 I am already using 800mcg of pulmicort a day and even at that level it has been giving me muscle cramps and messing up my period, so I don't want to increase it. Any comments? Or things I could try?
959034 tn?1253671476 I'm afraid I have no idea on this one. I'm still in the process of working things out with the specialist. She's left me on Symbicort for now and is looking into testing me for GERD. If it's that simple, I will be very happy. Her other alternative was to try 2 things. (1) I am to use the pulmicort 400 ug inhaler in conjunction with the oxeeze inhaler. These are the same two components as in the symbicort.
Avatar m tn I am a 32 year old male with a somewhat mild case of asthma, and I take symbicort and albutoral as medication. I hate it. I recently developed some PVCs (heart palpatations), and I would really like to use a long term asthma controller in place of the symbicort that does not have increased heart rate as a side effect. Are there any somewhat effective asthma medications (long term controller, not rescue inhaler) that do not have increased heart rate as one of the side effects?
Avatar f tn Is it normal that I experience air hunger (shortness of breath), chest pains, and dizziness even though I'm on Symbicort (2x daily) and Ventolin (supposed to be 4x daily, but only take it 2x, or when needed)? I've been diagnosed with asthma last month and I haven't had my appointment with a specialist yet. I find the inhalers help a lot, if I don't take them I experience worst symptoms of shortness of breath, chest pains and dizziness.
Avatar n tn 10 -day course of .875 MG Augmentin with pulmicort + albuterol nebulizer treatments, and Nasonex. Some improvement -- lung function up to 81%. 3. 3-week course of 2 MG Augmentin, higher dose of symbicort (no nebulizers), and Nasonex. By January 6, my lung function was up to 92%, which was for me, normal. The allergist still thought I had a sinus infection, so she recommended a sinus CT scan, which showed no infection.
Avatar n tn Hi, my GP has changed my meds today from seravent, becotide and salbutamol to Symbicort turbohaler. I have never used a turbohaler before and am finding it really hard to "suck" the drug into me! I have read the instructions and followed them to the letter but it just seems really difficult to suck through. Is this normal? or could the turbohaler be faulty? Also does it matter if i hear 2 clicks when loading? Please help as really need it to work!
209987 tn?1451935465 Hubby would like to know what the difference ( aside from price ) is between advair and symbicort. Advair is $176/month...but he could get symbicort for less than $50/month. Because of the price difference he would like to ask his doctor about changing it. Think his lung specialist would go for that if he asked? Are there any other inhalers that are similar to advair?
Avatar f tn i was diagnosed with asthma 3 yrs ago. i still have symptoms everyday and attacks 2-3x a week. i've had a increase in symptoms in the last several months even to the point where it has become a quality of life issue for me. i recently asked my doctor about trying a very low dose of daily pred to releive my symptoms, to which he replied," it'll kill you." i figure my asthma will likely kill me long before the pred does.
942934 tn?1268108382 I have asthma and take regularly symbicort 200 (6 puffs/day). I had problems with asthma control before I got the infection, and am seeing a respirologist for this problem. Over 8 weeks ago I woke up one morning with mucous rattling in my chest, and after the third day I developed a fever. I spent 5 weeks on prednisone for the exacerbation and 10 days of antibiotics. Still was producing excess mucous after 3 weeks and saw the respirologist again. She told me that my lungs are healing up.
Avatar f tn I had allergy shots when I was younger and thought that would be it, but apparently I was wrong. My NP changed Advair (due to cost) and gave me samples of Symbicort and Pulmicort inhalers to try, gave me a shot and antibiotic RX. I just hate taking all this medication. I will try to get in a routine with my nasal rinse, maybe that will help and guess I could see if I need to get back with an ENT to possibly start shots again.
Avatar f tn You could say you want to use an inhaler for your asthma instead of pills. Ask your doctor if you can take Pulmicort and Bricanyl. If this doctor refuses to give you a prescription for an inhaler and keeps saying you should stick with the Prednisone pills. Find a new doctor who will listen to you. Good luck.
Avatar f tn That is why it is important to first exhaust all of your other options. I really like Symbicort, it is less risky to the body then Advair and works very well for asthma. I'm also a big mucous producer and it does cut down the amount that my lungs produce on a regular basis. Right now I"m on the equivalent of Symbicort 400 (which is pulmicort 400ug combined with a long acting bronchodilator Oxeze 12ug. ).
Avatar n tn hi, my question is can we mix albuterol, ipratropium, pulmacort together and the order is give these medication together by nebulizer.
Avatar m tn There was also a warning to use caution in patients who have severe high blood pressure. As far as I can tell, there are no known interactions between Symbicort and blood pressure medicines. If you're concerned about how high your blood pressure gets after taking Symbicort, I'd talk to your doctor.
Avatar n tn It does sound like he is becoming dependent though, if he feels he needs it every night with many puffs, he needs to talk to his doctor. Also suggest/remind he take it correctly. He should be taking his time during and in between each puff or most of the medication is wasted to the back of his throat, therefore needing more puffs.
Avatar n tn She said I was quite a bit lower than expected, especially for the amount of exercising I do. She gave me albuteral and symbicort (plus some hayfever meds) and asked me to use the peak flow meter. I generally have been at about 450 on the flow meter and for my size and weght (6' tall and 160 lbs) it says I should be about 650. I don't seem to see any real improvement when I use Albuteral. The Symbicort keeps me awake at night when I take the 2x spray/2x a day.
197575 tn?1215532624 Is there a difference between a complex nodule and a complex cystic nodule? I know complex means both solid and cystic. My friend's ultrasound call it a complex cystic nodule. Thanks.
Avatar f tn hi i have severe gerd and asthma getting worse today doctor put me onzantac prilosec ventalin and symbicort the divorcesymbicort felt like it froze my lungs when inhaled since then breathing got worse and middle of back hurts is this other normal
920032 tn?1550680156 The thing to remember is that prednisone is used for other diseases ..... Elevera would be on prednisone because that is the treatment for adrenal problems. Your adrenal glands make a natural hormone which is very similar to prednisone, if the adrenal glands aren't working and producing that hormone you need to take something that can do the same job .... hence prednisone.
1154802 tn?1266485720 All that being said, prednisone is often the difference between life and death. Asthma is a life-threatening condition. Do not pass go. Do not collect two hundred dollars. The use of low-dose inhaled steroids significantly reduces the risk. Physicians at one time routinely prescribed oral prednisone, but now they have gone in the other direction and often refuse to prescribe it at all.
Avatar f tn We got rid of the cat and have been through some really rough times with her asthma. During a cold was when it was worst. here I am 1 year later and my daughter takes pulmicort 1 time a day and 2 times a day when sick. She is exellent- cant even tell she has asthma. Pulmicort is 100 times safer than prednislone and albuterol.
746512 tn?1388807580 t want to take my rescue inhaler all the time because it gives me wicked muscle cramps and makes me loopy and really tired. I also take 400umg of pulmicort twice a day. Is there anything I should do; call my doctor, up my pulmicort dose or just wait the weather out? Thanks for the input.
