Common Questions and Answers about Difference between percocet and oxycodone
Just curious, does anyone know the difference? Is a 10 mg hydrocodone the same as a 10 mg percocet (oxycodone)? Reason I'm asking is I can break my hydrocodone pills in fourths a lot easier than my percocets.
and am just now coming off the pain pills and am going nuts. I'm sure its the percocet but am alittle confused about the differencebetweenPercocetand the oxycontin as they both have said....OXYCODONE... on the label is the oxy just a time release percocet?
Actually the molecule differencebetween oxycontin and heroin is 3, not so similar with percacet .......... and how you use i.e orally snorting smoking oxycontin has a huge impact on your addiction and the tolerance and the effects on your body.
There is a difference between these drugs.
What is the exact differencebetween hydrocodone/Vicodin/ loratab andoxycodone/ Percocet? I know Percocet is supposed to be lil stronger but what is the real difference? Does one work better on other pains? What's the difference btw hydro and oxy? Thanks!!
I have used (and abused) both Oxycodoneand Hydrocodone. I prefer Oxycodone, but it is much harder to get. I however have used them interchangelably for years with just about the same effect. I would have a problem if I interchanged oxy and hydro for codeine or demerol.
Generics compared with brand names are equal, and generics compared with other generics are equal- period. Percocet 10mg is Percocet 10mg, no matter who makes it or what it looks like, the amounts are the exact same in any pill- by law."
I'll bet that this will be the response- in fact, I'll post on here and tell you what he/she said.
whats the differencebetween Lorcet plus andPercocet. the one pharmacist said lorcet plus was stronger only cause in had more pain medication and less tylenol than percocet. can someone tell me if this is true cause I've heard different things....i have back problems also, and my pain is real bad sometimes. i am just curious, which is better for the pain....thank you....
Absolutely there is a differencebetween physical dependence and substance abuse. I take it from your post that you recently moved to AZ. and your new doc doesn't want to treat you with narcotics like your prior doctor. That's his perogative I guess (probably got his MD in a third world country b/c no informed doc would just drop you cold turkey from vicodin with your physical ailments.....
there is a pretty big differencebetween the two. Percocet (oxycodone) is a schedule II narcotic, that requires a written rx w/ no refills by law and is closely monitored (i believe it is the same thing as oxycotin less the tylenol) vicodin (hydrocodone) is a schedule III narcotic and can be called or faxed in by a doctor and can have refills on it. Darvocet is a lower narcotic than both of these, though i'm not sure what schedule it is. they dont work well for me personally for pain.
What is the differencebetween Oxycontin andpercocet? I mean, I know Oxycontin is slow release, but percocet is Oxycodone and how is that different from the Oxycontin? I thought they were the same only, one was slow release and one was not, but there must be another difference... Right?
Percocet is Oxycodone and Acetaminophen. Percocet is a brand name and there is no liquid Percocet. There is a liquid version of Oxycodoneand Acetaminophen called Roxicet, however. It's not necessarily measured in mg's though. It's measured in ml's in which 5ml contaings 5mg of Oxycodone and 325mg of Acetaminophen. Now that I've written all of that...I have to ask..why do you ask?
The only differencebetweenpercocetand oxycontin is that oxycontin is oxycodone ER (which means extended release) schedule II's are the most addictive, second to Schedule I's which are analagesics (pain relievers) with no theraputic benifit. such as heroin.
Norco- is basically lortab with less tylenol. Norco is hydrocodone with 325mg of tylenol and Lortab is hydrocodone with 500mg of tylenol.
Can someone please tell me the differencebetweenoxycodone, ie percocetand hydrocodone, ie loratab? Is one "better" for you....or "safer" to use? What about addictive....is one less addictive than the other? Thanks a ton for all the support....I have decided to taper and at 20 mg a week should be done in 3 weeks.....wish me luck!!
For pain relied I think Oxycodon in Percocet is 1.5 time as effertive as Hydrocodon.
so 1 and a half Norco 10/325's = 1 10/325 Percocet for pain relief.
I think Codein is 30mg = 10mg of percocet for pain relief.
Don't quote me as I am going from memory but you get the idea and the ball park ratio.
I can only speak from personal experience on how either affected me - but hydrocodone seemed to impart more of a subtle alteration to mood. Oxycodone would have me feeling great and energetic. But that difference is probably just a variation on the prescribed amount taken. I know when I was prescribed hydrocodone for TMJ, the dosage would equivalently be a lot lower than what oxydocone is usually prescribed for.
I know there is never a perfect time but I have soooo much going on between work and music and my 4 year old son.....I know just excuses! This just snuck up on me again! I swore that I'd never do this again but look what happened! They don't really do anything for pain anymore, I take them so I won't be sick! I just want to be normal again!!!!! This is a great place! Thanks all!
Please excuse my stupidity But could someone please tell me if their's a differencebetween the way that the oxycodone 30 ir and the oxymorphone 10 ir work in your system and help a person that's in server pain And if they both show up in your system as the same drug Because I've been told that perkacets and oxycodone both show up as the same drug in your system And that the oxymorphone does not So if it's not to much to ask And without getting blasted out to badly LOL Could someone that's knows
i don't know (at this point in time) if you are still attached to the oxycodone or not, but i pray that you will feel better, and be able to overcome this bondage, and be happy and free.... :)
