Since then the pain is in my shoulder, collar bone, mid arm (between the shoulder and elbow), elbow and wrist. My elbow is now very sore after typing or writing if it's not well supported on a desk. Although it doesn't hurt to the touch. My range of motion has decreased and I'm losing strength as well as the same symptoms are beginning in my R arm now. I've had an xray which showed nothing. Went to PT but wasn't getting better.
He said with the seizures occuring with exercise, getting hot , with hot showers, probably caused vaso response. It is a very complicated abnormality occuring between the parasympathetic and the sympathetic nervous system. They did a tilt table test which confirmed this response. Right before my son's seizures we would find him in the shower, or like after running he would be confused, not no his name where he was at, our names, and then he would progress on into the gran mal seizures.
Good for you! I was a 22 year smoker, and what worked best for me was the patch. It completely took all the edge off. I tried it all- even prescriptions, and the patch worked the best for me. I've been smoke free for 6 months and it feels so good to just not think about cigarettes any more.
Which is a imbalance between the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems. which causes a vaso reponce, low BP, and low heart rate, pooling of blood to the lower extremities. We have done EKG, Holter Monitor, Echocardiogram, all normal which the Dr said would probably be. He is going to have his Tilt Table test4/8/08. He has had several episodes where we have caught him in the shower being confused, because we watch him like a hawk!!!!!

It is important for me to explain that many of these medications were prescribed to counter-act the side affects of the primary medications.
You're in the right place if you want off the Tramadol! You can do it! I believe in you!
D I just love you guys! Such honesty and kindness and willingness to help. It's such a blessing! I think this place attracts some of the most intelligent and caring people in the world. So gratifying. I haven't posted for a very long time ... but I will always keep this thread going. I remember so well the desperation I had to hear from anyone ... anyone about how they got off. Now there's years worth of posts from people round the world who kicked Tram.
My former neurologist never thought Topomax would be a fit for me with the type of job I had, but I recently relocated to a new state and was referred to a new Neurologist. This MD is not as fussy about the fit between lifestyle and drug side effects and put me on Topomax to deal with Migraines about 2 weeks ago. I am not up to full dosage yet (only at 50 mg & he is hoping to ramp me up to 200mg per day) & I am done with this junk.
15 and 7:15 I was dozing and had my worst tremors on record...These extended throughout my entire body including my legs and brain. I must say this really saddened me after I was feeling like I was on the mend. The last three nights have been pretty good although tremors on a much milder scale have been taking place each night. It seems that they are occuring later in the night like closer to 5:00.
All in all, I hope these side effects are worth it! I hope I see a difference in the migraines and maybe even the loss of appetite (hopefully)! If not, I'm definitly stopping this. I dont like feeling like I'm staring into space all day!!! Have a great weekend!!
