You can also try some behaviour therapy like habit reversal training and with Exposure and Response Prevention which some nail biters find helpful.

Hi everyone, I'm in the uk and have suffered with anxiety and a phobia of thunderstorms, I take fluoxetine and gabapentin, this anxiety is now out of hand as it's just been said that we are due for severe thunderstorms in two days time.
Lately, I have been having bradycardia issues, specifically in the evening time. My pulse is usually between 48 and 52 beats per minute... which is a bit low for me. I am taking the medicine for hypertension... but since heart disease runs in my family and fish oil has some pretty good evidence behind it, I thought I would take it 2. Any comments, suggestions?
The doctor prescribed anti-depressant before such as fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, Remeron, escitalopram, lorazepam but all of them have no any effect, and anti-psychotics such as Risperidone, haloperidol, after taking no remission at all.
I went to the ER and I took and ECG which revealed that my QTc was 447 ms. I am very depressed so the physician gave me fluvoxamine. I was researching and I found that QTc of 447 ms is borderline. Should I worry about my ECG and taking fluvoxamine???
Concomitant use of tramadol and serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) such as fluoxetine increases the risk of seizures and serotonin syndrome. It may also reduce the pain relieving properties of the tramadol. If you must take tramadol, do not take it at the same time as fluoxetine. Try to take tramadol and imitrex a few hours apart from the fluoxetine.
My ocd has been going crazy the last 24 hours. I have to recite a words or phrases (certain ones) ans if I do it wrong or mispronounce it I have to start all over again until I get it right, my head hurts and I get really upset if I have to re-do it, sometimes it takes several times to do. Yes I suffer from the same problems as you describe above and have been on and off fluoxetine for several years for major depression and I can reassure you that the side effects as far as increased anxiety at the beginning of treatment are common and I have had to take an antianxiety medication for the first couple of weeks to combat this effect. In 2-3 weeks it should subside and that's usually when I also start to feel the desired effect of fluoxetine.

For other people, they report a BIG difference in the effectiveness of the generic and have to stick with a brand name, sometimes even a specific brand name.
Some meds have more of a reputation for this than others. Some of the benzodiazepines (ie Klonopin, Ativan, Xanax) have frequently reported complaints about the generics. We have seen many threads on MedHelp about generics not being as effective as brand names, but I always advise people to absolutely give the generic a fair shake.
One medication may have been developed first and others later that are somewhat similar chemically and in the same chemical family but they may be completely different medications. I take Methocarb and that is prescribed for me to control dystonic spasms. It is an anti spasmodic. Meprobamate is an anti anxiety medication.
Any of these medications can be prescribed for other purposes as determined by a doctor or psychiatrist or other treating professional.
I tried similac and it didnt sit well with them. I know a lot of moms who used similac and were good with it.
